In my opinion the hardest point to overcome is when you practice for endless hours and don't improve. When I first started cubing, I started with an MF3RS, beginner's method. I average around 2 mins but after a month, after buying a Thunderclap v2 my average cut down to 40s.
This honestly helped me, I'm a cover but not a fast one. I can solve the 2 by 2 in 16:22 ,the 3 by 3 in 41:24, the 4 by 4 in 4:23:00, and the 5 by 5 in 8:10:00. And I thought I should just give up. "I'll never be as good", I would always get mad at myself for not being as fast. My family tries to support me saying they wish they could solve it but it didn't help.my goal one day is to break a Cubing world record, and I keep doubting myself. But I know that there is a future ahead and I just have to achieve it.but I watch a lot of #cuber, the programming cuber and Derry cubes. And it just discourages me when they can solve the 2 by 2 to 5 by 5 in under 4 mins, when I'm barley finishing my 4 by 4. But I know that it just takes practice and dedication. I practice daily and record my times, occasionally having mini comps with my fellow cubing friends but seeing this made me realize that there are bumps along the road and getting fast doesn't happen in a day. Felix didn't get sub 15 until a year later when he started cubing. I got sub 45 after a year of cubing. But all I have to say is just, always do your best and let no one slow you down!
Crazyold Ben1 I am on that road to kinda started cubing about a week ago and I am generally (when I don't fuck up the algorithms) about 1min 30 Pb is 1.22 on 3x3
After watching this, i decided to go do a couple solves with my Rubik's brand speed cube, I thought to my self," What's the worst that could happen? (I say this because my cube has a broken, then super glued corner piece) I legit just beat my previous pb of 45.63 seconds. Now i am proud to have a pb of 37.37 seconds, WITH A HALF-BROKEN CUBE.
