Got one for Christmas after mentioning it because I loved the 3D capabilities with the built in battery. I’ve loved it, and even use it for days when I just wanna lay in bed, and watch tv.. on the ceiling. Great buy, even if I didn’t end up having to buy it for myself because my family loves me.

If not can you recommend another mini portable projector that has Bluetooth and is compatible to iPhone xs. This the first time I’ve come across your channel I found it to be very good to the point and thorough so I will be joining your channel and checking out your other videos. Thank you
I purchased this projector directly through the Vankyo company and was very happy with the customer experience. I am really amazed by the quality of this thing. Even though the specs clearly state that it is designed for up to 110 inches, I showed an outdoor movie last night on a 25' wide wall with no noticeable distortion (was sitting about 15' from screen). I'm happy with everything, though I'm trying to find a good solution for the external sound. The internal speaker is okay for small room, but outdoors it doesn't work for more than 2 people. I'm wanting to show movies to a pandemic crowd of 25-35, so I need much better external sound. Anyone have suggestions? I was thinking maybe a audio jack to fm transmitter and using a portable boom box type of stereo to play from. Overall, I've had $700 projectors that didn't work this good and my absolute requirement for a 5v, usb powered projector made this Burger 101 a godsend.

I really find your review helpful...but for the love of GOD...why would they make such a nice portable well made device that can't screen cast? I have a pixel 2 as well and it was a complete no go. I powered up my old iPhone 7 and it worked just fine but the software has a clear block to allow movie streaming via screen/mirror casting from both Netflix and Amazon prime Video...is this actually the case? It won't allow casting for movies??

How do you connect your phone to it. I just ordered it but just realized it does not have bluetooth. How big of a screen should I get for using it my backyard?
Or if your phone has a USB 3.0 charge port and supports HDMI out through that USB port, you could get a USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor. To ensure that your phone battery doesn't die while you're watching, you should look for an adaptor that has a USB 3.0 input in addition to the HDMI output which will allow you to provide power to your phone while simultaneously providing HDMI output to the projector... probably $35 - $40 at Walmart or Best Buy. (Obviously this is not a wireless solution 🙄)

We have this device for use at our tiny mountain cabin. My husband would like a small and inexpensive speaker to add to it (for Christmas) but I have no idea what kind of speaker to get. Ideas?
Sure! It really depends on your budget but I recommend the TREBLAB HD7(Review: ruclips.net/video/ybdcwYagRhY/видео.html). It's a bluetooth speaker but also has the ability to connect to the projector via an AUX cable. I used this exact setup a month ago when my power went out. Let me know if you have any questions. It fits my needs nicely.
is it true that the power adaptor can not feed enough power once the battery is dead ? will it work properly / smooth if plugged in after the batter has died?
rocky dennis Nice! I use a 120” screen in my dedicated theater room. I have the Epson 5040ub in there. I have an outdoor 120” screen that I want to use the 630 with. I was using the epson 1040 but there was no audio out and the internal speaker just isn’t that good. I like the fact that the 630 has an audio out for speakers. Can’t wait to try it.
It says a 110 inches, but if you want it to stay reasonably bright, I wouldn't go much bigger than 30 or so. I keep it around 20 or 25 inches, and it is as bright is an equivalent TV.
2:40 What a shame, I was actually thinking of getting one until I saw the letters "DLP" on the label. There's no way the countless moving micro mirrors, and the spinning high speed colour wheel (that are part of DLP systems), will last for portable use. Imho, if you want a much more reliable portable mini projector, look for one with LED/LCD technology.
On Vankyos website, under specifications it in fact says: Display Technology: LCD / Light Source: LED, so I don't think it should be a problem #VankyoBurger101
You are the first to mention a con/ a negative for DLP. I appreciate your perspective. I’m considering using it to project my drawings into my canvases. A lot of people have mentioned to go for the DLP technology because of the fact that it can be set to any size by furthering or moving the projector closer to the wall/surface.
I've had a portable DLP for about 4 years now. Besides the mild rainbow effect (which I DO see), the unit has held up wonderfully. ZERO issue. Mine is a WOWOTO and was over $400,. but still it is DLP.
Can you help me. I have this but it says needs update: when I plug it in to update it, it won’t let me hit confirm, only cancel. Without the update it won’t keep the pic normal. I think very necessary because I can’t use mine. My brother gave me this projector without the remote and I can’t do anything with it except turning it on.
@@Rider0fBuffalo "supports 1920x1080" but is not native size! Careful of that so you don't get disappointed, shifty walmart marketer of course are being a bit misleading here! If your buying, look for "native size" In this case, the burger is 854 x 480. AKA a cheap and cheerful resolution But it does actually look ok for what I want, and if as a holiday/travel "tv" I think it will still be quite adequate
Well there's your problem right there, if you want to hook up a Blu-Ray player use the HDMI. You can play videos through the USB, but you have to put them on a thumbdrive.
I've had my hands on many. If you want a 5 volt projector with a good size battery this is the best I've come across so far. If you can use a standard electrical outlet every time, then there are much better mini projectors that include bluetooth and better speakers. I have to be able to use mine where there is no accessible power, so to use this one with a usb battery pack, a portable speaker, and a roku or fire stick, I just haven't found anything better.
It looks fantastic on the video, but I doubt is it good as it seen, I'm pretty sure the brightness is low, so you need a very dark room to watch. But sticked to the actual data, the native res is only 854 x 480 based on their website, so it cannot be too sharp and clear on a larger screen, like 60 inch or so diagonal. Still can be useful when you're on travel as easy to carry, and want to see and maybe cut your videos on your trip.
Luckily, I found a GE programmable remote (CL5), ir code 1345 gave it a bit of functionality, mind bendingly hard to learn button pattern. But allowed me to get into settings and hook up the WiFi. Channel - was enter , channel + was power on and off, track forward was your right arrow , pause was left arrow, record was down, the enter button on the dpad was volume up, while the #2 was volume down.
maybe, but doesnt bother me, have speaker loud and head away from projector and never noticed unless you prefer to focus on it. which we all do oddly on things. :)
@rocky dennis I didnt end up getting it because it dosesnt output 1080p. I think its 480i or something like that. I'm looking at some BenQ projectors right now
@rocky dennis if you check with certain home theater groups on Facebook, some of the guys are always upgrading and selling their used projectors and toy can usually get a good deal. @@filmedwithiphone4 If you find a truly portable 5v projector with bluetooth that works well, let us know. It isn't a perfect solution by any means, but I'm pretty happy with my setup. (Burger 101, $20 headphone amplifier, and $70 AOMAIS GO speaker. All from Amazon) I can use this setup in a remote mountain village without power and easily show videos to a group of 30-40 people. It fits my needs nicely.
is it true that the power adaptor can not feed enough power once the battery is dead ? will it work properly / smooth if plugged in after the batter has died?
@rocky dennis what is up with the delay audio on bluetooth, thats a huge prob. everthing else i found tolderable
rocky dennis I have this projector but waiting for my 630 to arrive Tuesday. Looking forward to trying it out.
rocky dennis Nice! Can’t wait to try it.
rocky dennis I don’t think it would work for the epson 1040.
rocky dennis no, only a speaker.
how far can you get it from the wall before losing quality?
depends on how picky one is, but i use bare wall screen from like 10 feet away and im happy as a backpacker
I just used this to fill a 25' wide wall and blew everyone away at the quality, though we were sitting more than 15' away from the wall.
When you turn on projector it says it recommends 6 feet, but I have gone further.
How big does the screen get ??
It goes on then turns it upside down, then right side up, then so on. I’m in the setting but it just won’t let me click on confirm

I'd like to buy this vankyo 101 dlp projector. But i like to know first if running text below if we watch news on tv readable or is it clear enough to read or not. Anyone can tell? Please
It would be clear enough to read. You can change the focus to make it clearer if needed.
I still use this projector when the power goes out or when camping. Works great!
I have an lcd one. Its hard to see name of racer when watch GP race. Something like this "8 become 0, B become something els". I have to read several time to catch the point. Ofcorse miss the best moment, even in the max focus
How necessary is the remote?
I think very necessary because I can’t use mine. My brother gave me this projector without the remote and I can’t do anything with it except turning it on.
Lumens? Does it let you know the lumens on the manual? And can it still give a vivid picture for a 100 inch screen?
thats what id like to know too :/
1920x1080 resolution, with 50ANSI Lumen and 2000:1 contrast ratio -According to its listing on Walmart
@@Rider0fBuffalo "supports 1920x1080" but is not native size! Careful of that so you don't get disappointed, shifty walmart marketer of course are being a bit misleading here! If your buying, look for "native size" In this case, the burger is 854 x 480. AKA a cheap and cheerful resolution
But it does actually look ok for what I want, and if as a holiday/travel "tv" I think it will still be quite adequate
Can you connect this with the HDMI to a DVD player?
Yes, that would work great! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking an subscribing!
@@GaugingGadgets I’m trying to connect it to a portable blu ray player via a usb
I thought Miracast was just for Microsoft products? Maybe that's why it didn't work with your phone.
It’s a great product, but I’m trying to hook up my Blu-ray player to it via USB, and it doesn’t register the device at all
Well there's your problem right there, if you want to hook up a Blu-Ray player use the HDMI. You can play videos through the USB, but you have to put them on a thumbdrive.
@@aarongreenfield9038 thanks! It was actually a problem with my player which is now fixed!
What is the best mini projector today? 6/2020
Yes but how did you connect to wifi then?
Can you provide more information? It should be under network in the settings.
yes very simple, in menu settings. DONT LOSE REMOTE !!!
so I can't use my Android phone????
can an artist project a single photo for enlarging a photo onto canvas
Yes, I think this would work. Very cool idea.
Remote stopped working and I can not get it to function has anyone else had any problems with their remote?
Mine still works
If you loose your remote, your screwed
Luckily, I found a GE programmable remote (CL5), ir code 1345 gave it a bit of functionality, mind bendingly hard to learn button pattern. But allowed me to get into settings and hook up the WiFi. Channel - was enter , channel + was power on and off, track forward was your right arrow , pause was left arrow, record was down, the enter button on the dpad was volume up, while the #2 was volume down.
How tf do I get this to work with my pixel 6 pro. I'm not dumb but it seems like it should be a few easy steps. I'm ready to throw it at the wall lol
Can i connect an amazon firestick to it?
Yes, this would work great.
I actually power my firestick using the
Usb connection on the back of it, cuts down on all the cables.
@@GaugingGadgets and roku, usb flash drive, laptop? I’m hoping to watch Netflix
@@blackswan4486 Yes, those will all work! :)
@@GaugingGadgets awesome!!! I just found one on FB marketplace for $70.
I had to charge mine before use
becoz i tried on youtube or on online you cant play 3d movies or we can say you cant apply 3d button its fake video
Hold on. Isn’t this thing called the Elephas?
the fan sounds pretty loud for its size.
maybe, but doesnt bother me, have speaker loud and head away from projector and never noticed unless you prefer to focus on it. which we all do oddly on things. :)
yeah it is a little bit, I cut the brightness down... maybe it helps i'm not sure.
All I hope is I get my 30,000 hrs of LED!
How are the black levels on it? If I'm watching a movie are the black letterbox bars going to be black or appear gray?
@rocky dennis I didnt end up getting it because it dosesnt output 1080p. I think its 480i or something like that. I'm looking at some BenQ projectors right now
@rocky dennis I'm not sure. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm probably gonna go with a short throw projector for 7 to 900$
@rocky dennis if you check with certain home theater groups on Facebook, some of the guys are always upgrading and selling their used projectors and toy can usually get a good deal. Good thing about the projectors too, is that if the bulb needs to be replaced ot doesnt cost as much as buying a new one or a new tv.
@@shanksranks5823 The cost of bulbs can be as much as this tiny projector... well it's true some people bath in gold though :P So each to their own happy reality :)
Do you know what the battery life is like? You may have said at some point in the video but I didn't catch it. Thanks!
Depending on the brightness level it will last around 3 hours. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing!
Jamie Duda The battery life is weak but I still love the mini projector because it’s a DLP🤔
Very disappointed with mine. Nice projector, but useless apps.
One reason I purchased was for RUclips app. Channel names come up on search, but only related content. Not with the actual channel, hence my disappointment.
You can "screen mirror" if you have an IOS or chromecast and beam youtube...
but yes the youtube (I've only had it a few hrs so not explored it yet - RUclips seems limited unless there is some search functionality)
U mean hdmi in not out
Correct
This one dlp projecter
its not possible to watch 3d video on youtube
Yes I'm having same problem
My tripod broke you know how to fix it???
Use glue
Wi-fi built-in but - surprise, surprise - no Bluetooth for ear buds or speakers. Annoying to be tethered to a supposedly "wireless" projector!
I use a Bluetooth adaptor for audio that was pretty cheap? easy fix
ever used
Does this work wirelessy with android?
if you have chromecast it will
