I do this every day of my life... I even catch myself typing “my apologies” in emails when I’ve honestly done nothing wrong. It is a learned habit from years of shaming that is difficult to break. The fact that you recognize this from the clip means you do have compassion for strangers! 😊
I know, but you gotta give Chelsea a lot of credit for 1 thing. For all the insults that was coming out of the other woman's big mouth, she made it her personal choice to not let that get to her & hinder her performance. She chose to just block all that out & just focus on her work.
It's truly sad to see. My best friend has a similar body type as her and she could never see how beautiful and talented she is. She tries to hide it but I could see straight through it, I know her so well. 😔
I am a plus size person myself. I used to spend most of my days insecure because of my weight but overtime I've realized that it's truly not what's on the outside..but on the inside. People still judge me everyday of my life...but it's they're loss cause they don't know how amazing I really am 💁♀️❤

I feel so bad because i have a friend of mine who is suffering from the same condition... But after knowing her everybody just falls in love with her she's so fun and chill and also has a really nice heart

I know this is a good message but the thing is, people usually aren’t that obvious with their hate. It’s easy to demonise people like her, but the real demons are in the average nice enough person, perhaps even your friends and family, who give you glances, whisper passive-aggressive things, and say stuff “that means well” but that just ends up digging you further into your despair.
True, I mean when people are annoyed about sitting next to me, they don't really verbally express it, they just grunt and moan and shuffle around, if they start saying bad things about me it's usually behind my back, after I've left the room. And they will keep complaining even if I move my seat as far away as possible or I'm sitting in a wider seat designed for bigger bodies or I'm sitting in two seats so I'm not spilling into their space. Because I'm very mindful of that, I want us to both be comfortable. I've been a big girl for basically my entire life but tbh I've never really thought too much about how people act when I'm sitting next to them, because they tend to be openly ruder and more abusive about lots of other things.
Yeah exactly. Things are systematic more often than not. Maybe the larger person gets passed over for a job. Maybe she doesn't have the self esteem to stand up for herself after getting bullied out of her own idea. That's more frequent. It's never this poorly veiled and blatant.

I'm eldest of four siblings. Three of us were slim, one overweight. Now that we're quite old, the one who was overweight has lost weight, and we three formerly-slims have gained weight. We've all apologized for making jokes about her weight when we were kids. She looks the best now, and has a successful career. Karma is often subtle.

I actually have a condition as well that makes me gain weight without eating. Watching this really hit a soft spot for me because as a young preteen kid, being fat shamed is never easy for me. It's so horrible in this world when people fat shame other people, when they don't know what they have been through. I used to be fat shamed when I was a child, I used to have asthma, and I couldn't lose the weight easily, so I gained weight. I am better now, but I still feel mad when people constantly fat shame other people when they don't even know the situation they are going through. When people try to body shame me now, because I am a little overweight, I tell them my story to compassion for me and the other people just like me.
Im still in middle school and the amount of times I've been fat shamed is very high and my self esteem is very low so at this point any motivation to lose weight Is down the drain cuz my bullies have made it very clear that I'll always be pig girl, porky the pig, peppa, whale,and my bullies personal favorite Big Brianna

When people try to body shame me now, because I am a little overweight, I tell them my story to compassion for me and the other people just like me.
