You can just put a level mask in between your image and the threshold layer. That way you can paint in the detail in the level mask that is blown out in the threshold.
Exactly what I was thinking. Or cut the parts in 2 and add a clipping mask for each
Can you explain this please? Do you put the level mask in between the original image and the first treshold layer?

Thanks mate, try using a higher resolution document to begin with. 300 dpi if you can

would it print properly if there's a smooth transition when removing black from the wing, shouldn't the edges be at 100 opacity?
Not sure I understand your question? When the black is removed the remaining white or colour will be at 100 percent
Won't posterize effect do the job instead of creating multiple threashholds?
I appreciate this bro! Quick question. If I wanted to threshold a photo of Michael Jordan for example, do I just repeat the process to add more colors(for his jersey, shoes etc.)? Is this process only good for 2-3 colors?
Typically you would do 2/4 colour separations and paint in any extra colours.

what do you use if u want to print up the design on tshirt, cmyk or rgb ?
Best to design in RGB since that is what your monitor uses. You can convert your artwork to CMYK to check what happens to the colours but it’s not 100% realistic since it’s still being displayed on a monitor.
I've had some good luck with the dodge and burn tools when details are lost.

please I really need help, whenever i put noise in between the threshold layer and my subject layer and try to merge it the threshold effect won't show it just apply noise effect

Convert the layer to a smart object first before adding threshold.
i have some problem, when adding the treshold effect, it's stack on the same layer not creating a new layer as in the video, can u help me with this problem?
If you want a threshold layer then you need to apply it on the layers panel at the bottom. Let me know if that helps 😊

When I put the threshold layer, it appears as an adjustment layer on top, not underneath the layer, I've tried everything, this happens everytime, can someoene help?
Make sure your layer is a smart object and apply Threshold using image-adjustments-threshold like in the part of the video with the statue.

You probably need to convert your layer to a smart object.

Why isn't it popping up as a new layer for me? Im doing it exactly how you are yet the threshold just blends in with the image and doesnt create a new layer

Every pixel is given a value of 1 (White) or 0 (Black) depending on which side of the threshold they lie.
but its not free. Thanks huge help..
