Could you imagine being in that church surrounded by God's creation and hearing Home Free singing? I think I might wonder if I'd died and was in heaven. 🙏❤
No matter what the tone of the song is, be it pure fun, dead serious, heart breaking or grateful worship, they have the uncanny ability to inhabit the lyrics with emotional impact that is spot on. You feel their music as well as hear it.
Tim actually worked with Jeff to help him learn to go lower. Of the three; Tim, Jeff, and Avi, Tim is considered more of a teacher, and they all work with each other to get better. Jeff even did the arrangement on one (or more) of HF's songs. They really don't have much "rivalry", and help each other out all the time. And, that is the way it should be.
It is wonderful to hear Adam Chance singing the bass part at the beginning when Tim has the melody line, and Adam Rupp's lovely high notes throughout. It is such a beautiful version of this lovely hymn.
There are several phone video recordings of them when a concert was stopped because of a big storm. They did this off-mic for a bunch of fans who had escaped under a "tent". You should check it out. I was lucky enough to find it a couple weeks before Austin and Rob released their opera duet. I knew then Rob's voice was really strong. It was his tone that shocked me in 'Nessun Dorma'.
They spotted this spot in the Austrian Alps as they were flying over and decided to call the crew and do this song . It is the same place that Sound of Music was filmed. Great reaction Love Home Free can't go wrong with anything they do . Keep up the good work
I have been reading in other posts now & thought you'd like to know...they say the majority of the highest pitch you hear, doing the background oooohs and awwws so far up there, is being done by Adam Rupp the beat boxer!! I wasn't sure at first, but they are right. After the shift back from It Is Well, there are times where you hear that high sustaining note but you see/hear Austin and Rob both singing words in harmony with each other and not the high oooos in the background. I totally agree with your assessment of the simplicity of the production and setting greatly added to the absolute gut-wrenching purity of both the song and the quality of their mix. Adam and Jake Rupp started the group & Jake was the brains behind the group's phenomenal arrangements. I thank God for blessing me and the world with the gift of Home Free's music!
FINALLY!!!! You just got a subscriber simply because you mentioned Adam's voice. I've watched dozens of reactors waiting for someone to say something about him instead of constantly going on about the others. They all go on and on about his beat boxing ability but say nothing about his harmonizing or even seem to notice him in this video. You are the first to mention his gorgeous voice at all. THANK YOU!!!!
That bass coming in at the end sounds like a church organ, so to me, it's the cherry on top. Tim's bass does rattle you in concert when he goes low and if you are in the seats near to the speakers it goes through you and you have the ultimate bass experience.
I still need to make it to one of their concerts. I saw a video where he blew the speakers and I love the fact that he (or anyone else) can do that lol. The arrangement of this song, obviously with all the post production that went into it, made it a truly amazing rendition all the way around. I originate from a small town out in the mountains, so this whole thing resonates with me on many levels.
@@belinda9696 LOL. Now that's a whole new level of bass. I always joke about these well known bass singers breaking continents, so it's fitting that he damaged a building with just his voice...and a sound system.
Thanks for your reaction to my ultra-favorite Home Free number! Recently on a live chat, when Chance was asked which song the guys had found the most challenging, he said it was How Great Thou Art. Their attention to the minutest details really shows in this song. Perfect in every way!
I feel GOD shining down on them. It's more than just a pretty song, when you listen to the words it means something. This song helped me through the loss of a stillborn son.
Very sorry for your loss. I've been through two miscarriages myself, but can't imagine this 💔. This is a powerful song, word for word. Glad it was able to help you through.
Loved your reaction! This is the most beautiful vocal harmonies ever! When they sing this live...its breathtaking! I just subbed for more Home Free....check out their cover of End Of The Road or Some Girls Do!
These guys are the best! Absolutely great talent, perfect harmonies, fantastic. This song is a fantastic sound experience. You really need to listen to more, Amazing Grace and Auld Lang Syne are so wonderful too. Good reaction!
On hard days I often sit and listen to this song and let the music just wash over me. It's 'heavenly'! This is one of my favorites from Home Free. I really liked your reaction, thank you! I'm a new subscriber.
This is the Best version I’ve Ever heard…..just Beautiful ☦️‼️☦️. The Austrian Alps are the perfect setting ❤️‼️☦️ The Beard (& glasses) is Rob Lundquist, the long hair (ginger/blonde) is Austin…high tenor…. Awesome voice! They’ve got another…Peter Hollens featuring Home Free, doing ..”AMAZING GRACE”…..it’s quite beautiful ☦️❤️☦️
Listening to this beautiful song sung by these extraordinary men, felt like I’d had my soul and heart cleansed and purified. Honestly for hours after I felt clean inside somehow,& refreshed. Not many songs have ever done that to me before. I also got all over goosebumps from the top of my head to my toes,& THAT,has NEVER happened to me before. Kinda speechless at its effect over & on me.
Great reaction and I subscribed. Sounds like you know them a bit. This is stunning and I love their version. It was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. You half expect Julie Andrews to come out singing “the hills are alive”. Hahaha. So beautiful, it’s the perfect setting for proclaiming God’s greatness. One of my favorites of theirs. Also love Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You, One Man Band, Country Roads, O Holy Night. So many good songs. Enjoy the journey.
Home Frees best video!! Rob has such a soothing beautiful tender voice! They’re all amazing artists! Their producer Darren Rust put this arrangement together!! Listen to “God bless the USA” with Home Free. Lee, Greenwood and the US Air Force band!! Nice Reaction!!
Their arrangement of this in the harmonizing When I close my eyes and listen to the song it makes me think what it would sound like if a pipe Church organ could sing especially that last low note drop
So I'm late commenting on this reaction but I'm just now seeing it and I'm so thrilled that you mention Gregorian chants in relation to Adam's part! That's what came immediately to my mind the first time I heard this one and you're the only person I've ever heard say that.

The Disney Princess Medley (my favorite) and the Disney Love Medley (with Kirstin From Pentatonix) are their most popular songs, and the Disney Showstoppers Medley showcases more of the male voices. For Christmas songs, you could check out Mary Did You Know and O Come All Ye Faithful.

Fabulous reaction.. such an awe inspiring video. New Sub here.. Just close your eyes and pick any song.. they are all great. My latest fun find is the Austin Brown video with Jenika Marion ITim Foust's wife) , Chris Chatham and Seb singing Signed Sealed Delivered. Such fun. As someone said.. Austin is like a DIsney Princess... there is always wildlife in his yard! haha.. Thanks for doing these..
Thank you for hanging out with me. I just recently came across some solo/duet songs of Austin's. He's another guy that can basically do no wrong regardless of what he sings.
New sub. Seasoned Home Fry here. This is my favorite version of this song. It is hard for me to pick a favorite Home Free song as I love all of them and each one serves a different purpose for me. But this is probably the one I listen to the most along with Man of Constant Sorrow.

When Adam is beat boxing, it is STILL a cappella. That comment was kind of offensive. They use their talents according to what the song requires to make the music the best it can be. That's what makes them so special. They put the music first ahead of their egos.

I honestly feel that they sang this to God, and it's the one version of this iconic hymn that shares how "How Great Thou Art" love it
On the final chord when Tim drops the bass in, it sounds like a church organ.
