Tears for Fears actually discovered Oleta when they were in the US on a tour stop in Kansas I think. she was at that point a lounge singer and they happened to hear her perform. she had been trying to break into the industry for a long time but was not getting anywhere until the chance meeting with Tears for Fears. they were blown away and when they started to work on the seeds of love album they contacted her and she agreed to work with them on that album, and they took her on tour with them and she also became their opening act exposing her to a huge audience. by this point Tears for Fears record company offered her a record deal and Roland Orzibal ( 1 half of tears for fears) produced her debut album called circle of life and it's a STUNNER a must listen.

Gorgeous, moving and resonant song. This song grabbed me immediately the first time I heard it back in the '80s. Tears for Fears were already releasing great musics, but adding in Oleta's stellar vocals was like manna from Heaven. The lyrics are moving as well. A perfect song. This was one of the bright spots of the music scene back then. And doesn't sound dated at all to me. Still relevant in substance and sound.

Tears for Fears is a very underrated band. Roland Orzabal is an extremely talented musician. He’s the one singing this song with Oleta Adams. She too doesn’t get as much press as she should. I recommend reacted to Famous Last Words live.

Such a beautiful song. Oleta Adam's vocals just raise this song to a whole other level.

Tears for Fears is an incredible band. Their writing, production and engineering rivals Steely Dan, an ultimate compliment for me. I'd suggest checking out their songs Elemental, Break It Down Again, Mr. Pessimist, Raoul and the Kings of Spain, and my favorite, Goodnight Song. Great reaction!

been listening to this gorgeous song since it was released decades ago and it touches my heart every time. And other people have noticed it too, there's a compilation video of other people doing the song. Still can't believe it wasn't a huge hit.

TFF is a catchy pop sounding band which is in fact all knowledge .... one of the deepest musical groups ever ... not in a blatant way like Rage, but the same level of depth

Jammin Tears For Fears will constantly throw curveballs at you lol every Album they elivate there Music this is off the Seeds Of Love album, all there songs have lyrics that mean something, Roland the lead singer in this song had an abusive dad growing up he used to bring over strippers in front of his mom and was very aggressive towards her and also about the oppression of women around the world, also Phil's Collins played the drums on this track, once you hear more songs from the Seeds Of Love album you will definitely see a side of them that's completely different than there first 2 albums which obviously are great as well, only 8 tracks but the production on every track is pretty ridiculous! Also forgot to mention they signed Oleta Adams to record with them on this whole album after discovering her in a night club in Kansas playing piana after on of there shows and were extremely impressed with her passion to play, that's why this album is so different than the first 2 Roland and Curt needed a change in there style less Synth sounded and more organic!

Oleta is fantastic on this album. The drummer is Phil Collins (on the recording, not shown in the video). In the '90s Oleta sings with Phil Collins in this big band.
