"fLame left and fRuit right" is an easy way to remember the final items' pedestal positions. Thanks for another great guide!
That's actually a great way of remembering! I'll pin this so others can see, nice job!
I find these puzzles right fruity.
These guides are so great, thank you so much for having made them. They've been a boon for this new player.
No problem, I'm happy to hear the guides have been useful!
The flame and the strawberry on the video was really smart of you for the little puzzle at the end! Thanks for the guide!
fLame left and fRuit right is pretty good but perhaps the visualisation may help people remember too ^^
@@TomScottDoesStuff Well, the visual was helping me a lot already but the "fLame and fRuit" tip is also useful as well! It's a 2 for 1 kind of deal lol thanks again!
I just cleared this dungeon as a healer, and thanks to your guide I managed to be really helpful ! I killed the bees on the first boss a few times because my team didn't notice them, I (almost) never died from doom, and I even managed to clear one of the totems with invisible walls on the last boss ! Thank you, it's so nice to run this dungeon while knowing what's going on !
Hey that sounds great, well done! I'm glad to have been able to help.
Thank you for this! I was feeling so low as a party just gave me so much abuse for not understanding the mechanics and dying, they eventually kicked me. Now seeing this I get it and turns out it's pretty difficult anyway, so I feel much better :)
Ah sucks to hear but everyone learns. It's a shame they booted instead of explaining but it do be like that sometimes. Everyone fucks up now and then so don't let it get to you that much, you'll get there :)
Easy to understand and you talk slowly.. that a big plus :)
Thanks person of soup! I always try to ensure the guides are as clear and understandable as possible so good to know things are going well :D
I've come back to FFXIV after years. Your guides are clear, concise and have been a fantastic aid in relearning the game. Thank you!
You're welcome back to the game on!
(There are 3 sentences there but don't ask me why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Thanks so much !
I tried to clear this yesterday as a healer and was with a team who didn’t explained me ANYTHING about the temple and it’s mechanics and kept blaming me for dying or not doing the right things. One was even saying “oh my god, I miss playing WHM” which made me feel awful. I understand know that it was a pretty tricky donjon and I will do better next time 😌
At the start of the game you dont really need to know the mechanics of the dungeons... i feel you sometimes i let my party die because i didnt know what to expect lol we healers are underappriciated
Yeah it's difficult, sometimes the best option is to just ask if anyone minds explaining things - you'll usually find some helpful people if you ask politely. However there will be times where no one wants to play nice (or doesn't know themselves either) so it can suck. In times like that it's best to just do what you did, pick up the pieces and do better next time.
Fortunately there are plenty of video guides around for these sorts of things so it's usually best to come prepared.
Hey dude, I just want to give you a BIG THANKS for laying all the dungeons out for a noob like me! I should’ve checked these before heading into them, particularly Teratotaur which I wiped too many times, it didn’t help when communication was also problematic. Anyway, am subbing and great vids dude! Thanks again!
Cool man, thanks for letting me know! I mostly made these guides just so I would never forget the tactics (well that was one of the reasons at least) so I'm happy to hear when they've been useful :D
One more thing to add is that since your vids are sorted by progression, I’m also able to see what dungeons needed unlocking! Awesome! 😆
Yeah, it's part of my very-general-and-not-that-written-down plan to cover each dungeon and trial in order of encountering them in the game :)
I figured it out after dying to doom.. not so smart when you are the healer hahaha
Thanks for this. I've played this so many times as DPS, but have decided to brave it and be a tank! And in doing so my brain had a total fart and forgot EVERYTHING! Lol x
No worries, you'll be okay 👍
Thanks for the guide! I ran this myself unsynced as LVL 60 White Mage in about 20 minutes, video served as nice refresher as I did it for my Twin Adder hunting log + a nice supply of Seals since I didn't need any of the gear.
thanks so much for these guides, i'm very new to this game and my seasoned friends don't always have time to play, so sometimes i gotta just get through it with randoms and these videos really help with that!
No worries, glad to help !
Watched a guide -> told all strats to the group of sprouts -> got 3 commendations.
Easiest commendations of my life although I'm a sprout myself xD
Pssst. Over here....

The music always goes hard in your guides. I even got myself that ancient eJay music software.
Nice one. Not many people comment on the music but good to hear it's not ass.
I can't even make any more music it seems because the software is not compatible with Windows 10. Though it generally seemed abandoned anyway. I hope you can make some good tracks, it's pretty fun software.
Was running this tonight, and for the life of me I couldn't remember which one went where, but I did remember this video existed. Problem solved.
Thanks for the guide! Ran into this dungeon 1st time because of the duty roulette so I was pretty much unprepared and died to the Teratotaur debuff.
No problem. That boss definitely catches people out so dying there is not that uncommon 👍
Teratotaur fight tip: For second doom the platform that is glowing will change just before you get the doom debuff for the second time. So if you are standing on the glowing one before you get the second doom debuff, you will still have it
just got so wrecked in Qarn by Teratotaur. Got him on the 3rd attempt though!
Thanks for the guide im a noob summoner and just got kicked from a party for not knowing what DOOM did
No problem Bryce! I'm surprised they could be bothered to kick you. It would honestly be less work to simply explain the mechanic if it was causing such a problem :l
@PersonaX It's not that much of a problem if one person die anyway, I don't see any reason why they would need to kick him
Ugh, these guides are a lifesaver, though did I miss the part in the guide where it says that sometimes you have to remove doom twice?
So you wont ever need to remove Doom twice in one cast from the boss but sometimes the rune you run to (to remove the debuff) will turn off just as you get to it, forcing you to run to another rune. As they turn on and off pretty randomly it can catch out some players. The same goes for making sure your debuff actually drops before you leave the rune. I've seen a lot of players just pinkie toe the rune and drop dead 6 seconds later.
This dungeon is hard with randoms, only i knew the mechanics, i tried to explain them but it took 2 wipes
I love you. I love your guides. :D
* blushes *
I truly HATE this dungeon - so, of course, it's necessary to do it to complete a Maelstrom rank. Thanks for the guide!
This place is pretty standard... isn't it? Normally people hate Aurum Vale but there are knockbacks and poison and loads of trash there so that's sorta earned :p
I just got kicked off a party because it was my first time doing this. I had no idea what I was doing. Still don't lol I probably won't tank anymore. That was totally annoying. I thought I'd try tanking out but I'm done with it.
There are assholes everywhere just ignore them and try again! Tank is actually fun to play and it would be a shame to stop because of salty players. You just had bad luck for this run but don't worry, if you tell at the beginning of the run that you're a new tank most of us would help and go easy on you so don't give up :)
If you feel insecure about tanking you can always play DPS first, then you can slowly learn from other tank. Why does this person do this, what did he do right that makes it easier, or what he could improve.
Also I recommend you to go watch "Basically, which job to play | FFXIV" you'll get a basic info on all the classes.. and the fact that TANK isn't fun to play lol. You basically need to know the dungeon before playing, but if you got kick from satasha or something like that I agreed that your party is a d*ck.
Hmm I never got a notification about these comments?
Unfortunately the door unlocking aspects of this dungeon can be pretty frustrating if you end up with a tank who doesn't know what to do. Generally it's a good idea to watch a guide first, especially if you are tanking but letting people know it's your first time is a good shout if you have absolutely no idea. Otherwise people will expect you to know what to do and if you run into one of these sorts of mechanics it can be annoying for other players.
I agree with what Sarocha and Blaze Burner said, just ignore them and if tanking isn't that enjoyable when first timing dungeons, maybe swap to another role until you're comfortable with knowing how the dungeon is done.
Don't give up! There's always room for improvement :)
apologizing in advance helps lmao
I'm joking (but also not kinda haha i actually do that). I get hella tankxiety when I'm doing a new dungeon, since this is the first mmo I've ever played and also I chose to be a tank because I wanted to play a big dude with a big axe. : )
I always play with at least one friend, who's more experienced and tell ppl that I'm a noob. Honestly, there was only one time that a person was yelling at me about being bad and every other time ppl were super nice and let me know what to do if I was unsure.
Nice helpful guide!
Thanks Quixote :)
Really like your guides, Mr. Tears Dears... ;)
Thank you Haych Peeese :)
Thank you!
You are even further welcome than previous welcoming! :D
Thanks
You're welcome :)
I've been struggling to tank the golem every run due to loss of agro... So its a mechanic... Been wondering wth am I doing wrong :(
Check out enemy list, you can clearly see if it's red then you got the aggro.
Yep it's kinda balls. No one says anything but I still feel their judgemental thoughts of wtf am I doing. However at least you can drop the fact bombs on anyone who complains.
omg secret tips
here's another one for you, just copy/paste this message any time you die/wipe and no one will ever point the finger at you:
"DUCK SAKE HELER I'MF DED Y U NO HEL ME!" - it's like a catchphrase at this point! #legit
Nice P.S. :)
Ah, yes. Flame and Fruit is in alphabetical order, so it's really easy to remember (if you know alphabetic :))
lol not doing that on duty finder
Mum's the word, eh!?
