Written in 1947 by Pee Wee King, The Tennessee Waltz became an official state song of my beautiful state of Tennessee in 1965. Patsy Cline did a tremendous job on her version, but the most popular version is by Patti Page in 1950.
well whoever requested it requested Patsy Cline. and I agree with the lady in the video Patsy Cline is great she has the most amazing voice ever. maybe you should go listen to your favorite one.
@@vickit.1797No need for the rude response. They were merely informatively stating the facts. They said nothing negative about Patsy’s version, only that Patti Page’s version was the most popular, and it WAS!
It just might be the 3rd best version. Considered Patti Page’s song but I think the best version is by Connie Francis
She died six months before I was born, but loved her music and still do till this day. What a hauntingly beautiful voice.
Patsy Cline. All you have to do is hear her name to feel joy and sorrow at the same time. Her voice is so precious that it' feels to me it has a physical presence. Country music has evolved into a much different sound today than it was during Ms. Cline's day. It's more upbeat and has a bigger repertoire of topics today then back then. For better or worse ? It depends on your taste. I guess you could say the same about Rock from the 60's and 70's compared to today. "Soul is Soul". Back then and now. Either you got it or you don't.
Ms. Britt have the day you deserve.
Couldn't click fast enough!! ❤❤❤❤❤. One of the most gorgeous voices ever!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Patsy was originally from Winchester, VA. She moved to Nashville, TN to further her career, hence her reference to TN in the intro.
That lady had pure soul in her voice and singing.
I love Patsy Cline! You should do Sweet Dreams.
I love her ❤
Patsy was born and raised in Virginia;
Party invented 'cry' and total vocal control with best set of pipes ever!
Best duo perfomance...two men...b/w vid...when something is wrong with my baby....jimmy barnes and john farnham...you will love this r and b masterpiece..❤
Love Patsy Cline and your reactions to her music. You must listen to Sweet Dreams.
As a child I had a pink stuffed dog that would play this song. Cool memory.
Such a beautiful voice
Patsy wasn’t from Tennessee she lived there but she was from Virginia. The movie sweet dreams starting Ed Harris and Jessica Lange is a must see it’s great.
Love your videos
She's from Virginia but lived in TN after singing career started
From what I heard about Patsy Cline... She was HARDLY a "Proper Lady"... She drank, she smoked, she cussed like a sailor... If you did her wrong, she was going to make you regret it... Yet, at the same time... Rarely will you hear anything credibly negative about her... Especially from the ones who knew her best.... That is a true test of character... Sounds saintly to me...
She was very close to Loretta Lynn too, who, of course, had the same qualities...
Part of it was also she had a rough life in a lot of ways. She found out, if she didn't get paid first, there were promoters who would cheat her out of pay, so the rule became, no cash, no Cline. Pay up front, just like Aretha Franklin. If Patsy liked you though, she called you Hoss.
@@daleb1279 I know I have never heard anybody say she was stupid...
You should watch "Sweet Dreams" it's about her life and do a reacting to it. It's a great movie.
It's a standard 3-step American Waltz. 1, 2, 3. 1, 2, 3 ...
Yes, I can Waltz. 😉
Patsy Cline was born and lived in Winchester, Virginia.
No one - I mean no one compares to Patsy Kline. They don't make them like this anymore. That said, it's interesting that you brought up LeAnn Rimes. Leann's first big hit was a cover of a Patsy Cline song: "Blue"
Except Patsy never recorded "Blue"... She passed away before she got the chance... She was going to, had she lived, but it, unfortunately for all of us, she never got around to it... It has been rumored that writer Bill Mack wrote it specifically for Patsy, but he denies it, saying he had nobody in mind when he penned it... Bill himself ended up being the original recording artist of the song instead...
Patsy Cline can’t be recreated. She is perfect.
Norah Jones & Bonnie Ratt do a great live version of This great song!
You should check out DOLLY PARTON ( Mule Skinner Blues )
I think my favorite song is "Crazy" so tragic and sad how she died
Crazy is my favorite too
