This is so true. I realized I was causing my own anxiety and I was stuck in a cycle for several months. I was so bad I wouldn’t sleep at all for days, which caused more anxiety and no sleeps meds worked. Wish I saw this video months ago. It’s very good.
I came off lurasidone 10 months ago due to extreme akathisia which prevented me from lying still let alone sleeping. At the same time I moved into an seniors apartment in an affordable housing complex right over the entrance and next to the elevator and laundry. I sometimes sleep for two hours and then eventually one or two more before six am. I do the relaxation, breathing , praying. I exercise and do intermittent fasting. I feel I am going mad and don't really want to carry on. I'm just venting as I don't like to burden anyone I know.
I have innsomnia over a year, its torture.Im on 1 sleeping tablet a night that helps me fall asleep but I wake after 3 hours every night and cant go back asleep.I need to try this CBTI
Yes! First, CBT-I breaks the insomnia pattern of difficulty falling and/or staying asleep, and gets you out of that cycle. Once it does that, and your sleep smooths out and becomes more consistent, then the sleep quality (deeper, more restful sleep) starts to return. It's also important to reduce any anxiety or stress. To have good sleep (deep, restful sleep with full cycles), you have to first break the insomnia and restore a healthy, consistent pattern of sleep, as well as increase your sleep efficiency (which is low and weak when you have insomnia), then sleep quality comes back. CBT-I helps you to do all of this.
@@PutInsomniaToBed Thank you so much doctor, you are the only RUclips channel i always watch and look forward for new posts...you always explain things so professionally and clearly, you are simply the best.
Dr please make a video about sleep quality widely, is non consistent and waking up many times at night only considered as a bad sleep quality? what about very bad sleep(very light and disturbed) hot flushes at night, too much weird dreams the whole night, and as u said in your other videos it doesn't feel like you slept at all. And please i want to know the physical signs of not sleeping well...is stomach pain, dry eye syndrome, eye puffiness, body aches all over the result of that?
