    Here's a tip for bowing:
    Glue popsicle sticks to the middle and/or the sides of the outside wall and if needed add them to the inside walls as well, that should help alot!

    I'm actually about to put up my mini dollfie dream's "diaramma" i have a extra nightstand so I just bought a bed from Wal-Mart that was for 18 inch dolls and made a little room on the top while the storage space below is for clothes :p

    This is such a great idea! Dollhouses are so expensive! I bought this Clubhouse for my LOL Surprise dolls and it costs $50! LOL

    You could tape, paint stir sticks on the outside of the walls. They are free and would give the walls support

    Could you add more sheets of those boards to the sides and floor to make it much thicker to solve the warping problem?

    • @LavilyDay
      @LavilyDay  4 года назад +6

      Yes! Definitely will be trying this. In hindsight I should have doubled the walls from the get go, but initially I was thinking about doing two storeys... I will give it a go, and pin a comment with the results!

    It looks very nice, as for the roof, instead of roof, you can put strips of sturdy paper or cardboard or the same material as walls, as beams. They would support the walls without putting burden on them and preventing light to get in.

    You could make some book shelves or wardrobe to support the roof

  • @camstir75
    @camstir75 4 года назад

    I would tape little wood supports on the outside. It would help it hold its own weight and if you were keen on the roof you could probably lose it

  • @QueenBeasDsgn
    @QueenBeasDsgn 4 года назад

    i think with the added weight of top on it, just add the extra squares to each side too on the outside it should help with strength and the bowing walls and not get in the way for photos

    Make a four poster bed for ava and then use the poles of it to hold the ceiling up a bit.

  • @melsmith110
    @melsmith110 4 года назад

    I like the way it turned out. It could be stiffer but for just sitting there with the weight being only on the floor its perfect. Also the price is remarkable!

    It's looking really good! I've used shelf liner for the walls and floors, I used those cardboard project board for my walls, I got most of the stuff from the dollar tree, so pretty inexpensive!

  • @pea36ok
    @pea36ok 4 года назад

    To solve lighting issue, couldn't you cut the centre portion out the ceiling panel - it wouldn't compromise the support it gives as it would still be attached to all 3 walls! The other thing you could do to help your diorama retain its shape with less bowing could be to build floor to ceiling cupboard/wardrobe/unit as the sides of the built in unit/cupboards would brace the ceiling, wall and floor. Just a couple of suggestions.

    Just use 1/2 x1 studs for the skeleton and that should hold the structure.

  • @shantellrichardson7814

    What if you add strips of that bigger sheet to the roof for support like a beam try that and see if that works and you can always decorate it if it looks ugly

  • @dulcamaramuck4518

    As you have so much sheets i wonder why you haven´t doubled them... but maybe I would try this before you make the lightning worse. The main problem the diorama suffers from the short time you had to put it together. My boyfriend and I build mine over the span of 3 weeks mainly because of drying time (but i also have a real wood flooring in it etc.).
    Also i don´t see any reason why you can´t put both on a table. I have build mine on one and have it now on a half high drawer for better access (can´t sit on the floor because i´m not able to get up again...).. also all their clothes etc are in reach ;D

    Awesome and informative video! I love your idea to use adhesive lining and floor mat for flooring. I'm in the process of designing a MSD room. How did you decide on the measurements for Ava's room?

  • @kaisalidstrom

    Square wooden dowels, and round one's might be useful to help stabilize the structure.

    I'd use wood if you intend to stack things. Cardboard tends to sag with use no matter how sturdy it is :(.

    Light wooden frames around the outside edges of the side walls at least. Think stage flats, or canvas frames.

    I love Ava so much that I really wanted one just like her. I ordered the head right from the company with the company faceup. She doesn’t look like Ava, and I’m disappointed and don’t know why. What eyes does yours have? That might help. Also mine seems to have a lot of blush, and yours doesn’t, which looks better to me.

    • @LavilyDay
      @LavilyDay  4 года назад +1

      Aww oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Do you have an Instagram so I can see a picture? Maybe I can help :) It's possible they've changed the default faceup for this doll, or maybe it varies release to release :/ I don't know the name of Ava's exact eyes - she came with them from the person I bought her off. They're acrylic though, if that helps :)

    hi i have a question, and your help choosing shoes size == the doll shoes you got from = nine9style = are in ( mm) now my dolls, one is == 5.3cm ===and the other one is ==== 7.5cm === how do i choose the right shoes size, please, thank you

    • @LavilyDay
      @LavilyDay  4 года назад

      Hiya! I'm assuming you want me to convert cm-mm for you? 5.3cm=53mm, and 7.5cm=75mm. From the measurements I would assume the doll with the smaller feet should fit most MSD shoes, and the bigger doll lost SD shoes. It always pays to check for internal shoe measurements on the website though! I hope this helps :)

    But did you vote for Peter Gilberd?!?
    In a more serious note, your bowing issue is because the front edge of the walls are not being restricted to a shape. You could easily solve this by adding a strip of something rigid to the outside of the edge of each wall. Maybe a strip of wood or a more rigid plastic, should only be a few dollars at Bunnings since they'd be so small :) you wouldn't need it on the top, it my assumptions are correct.
