Bravo, Johannes Birkel! Great performance - you are a wonderful trombonist! Du bis auch ein wunderbarer Blasmusiker und super Kollege. I hope to have some more possibilities to play together with you in one band! See you soon?
Fabulous!!......Very few musicians nowadays can play music like this .....Tommy Dorsey must smiling from Heaven listening to his original arrangement of "Song of India''''...actually is the version of the Rimsky Korsakoff overture .....
No, it's not as good as the original record with Tommy Dorsey on trombone, Bunny Berigan on trumpet and Dave Tough on drums, but it's still nice to hear people playing this music "live" and keeping the swing tradition alive.
Very nice - one question, however, for the lead bone player: do you ever play your solos with a cleartone (solotone) mute ala Dorsey. If the band will lay back while you're playing, you can get that great mysterious sound that defines the piece.
@3jiggers I have been listening to music for as long as you have i guess and i agree with your comments. The saxaphone section playing is great all the way through, but particularly effective at the 1:40 mark after the section playing by the brass.
these guys sound pretty good, but if you listen to tommy dorsey's original recording you can tell that the guys in this band have a different background. they read the notes as a classically trained musician would read them, not as they were inferred. it sounds like a european band that didn't grow up in the midst of swing music. they sound good, but again listen to dorseys origianl recording with bunny berigan on trumpet. this is what swing is suppossed to sound like. A for effort though.
Tedeschi che suonano lo swing meglio di certi americani. Bravissimi !!!
Beautiful! Congratulations to the musicians, arrangers and all involved. Tommy Dorsey would have been proud of you all.

is ron jeremy on lead alto?
Number of errors: 0)))
SOMETHING IS MISSING FROM HIS TRUMPHET TO MAKE THAT CERTAIN SOUND IT IS MORE MUTED
Song ?
trumpet player came in one measure late on his solo
Great. Anyone not stirred to tap the toes needs medical treatment!
trombonist needs a solotone mute
The bone is quite good, the trumpet solo is pretty awful, as is the ragged section work towards the end. And why are drummers these days so busy?
