Good fishing! I didn't know there were Northern Pike minnows in Oregon but I'm on the far diagonal side of there. Thank you for sharing love your vids man thank you
Hey good man, you, alone, have introduced and inspired me to get into Tenkara fishing. My birthday is coming up and I intend on outfitting myself and getting out on the beautiful streams and waterways here in northern New Mexico. Thank you
I made the mistake of snacking on apple-cinnamon oatmeal, trail mix, and Tang while hiking some backwater areas. A bear cased me for a couple of miles like a stray puppy. I must've smelled like a buffet table.
Gorgeous creek, Tristan! Well fished. I think you should only fish your one favorite fly from now on. The UKK ONLY. Something about having only one fly in the box makes the whole day richer.
WHOO! What a day! I just ordered my very first tenkara rod today. Your video got me totally psyched - can't wait to try it out!! Thanks for the awesome video. Looking forward to seeing more!
What a day! Glad you scared the bear away, and not the other way around. Cutties were amazing! Very cool to see you net that fish after him coming off lol. Pretty cool you will have this video to look back on to watch it all back again.
Nice series of videos on small stream fly fishing with a Tenkara rod set up. I've been using a conventional fly rod for years now but have been giving some thought to picking up a Tenkara rod for backpacking and fishing the small streams in the Smokies and Colorado back country creeks. Thanks for the inspiration.
Always a pleasure fishing with Tenkara. The day after tomorrow Will arrive my new tenkara Rod. The second one of tenkara. I Hope it work well also in big lakes of Alpi mountains in North of Italy
couldnt detect if it was a black bear positively, which arent known to attack humans, yet that doesnt mean they dont give me a pucker factor when they bust outta the bushes 15 yds away. So fast and quiet....such a beautiful and abundant fish'n hole!! Jeeeesshhh...
This is sooo cool! A bear and such beautiful and huge fish. I love watching you catch fish; however, I don't get how you hook them. I never see you unhook a hook from their mouths.
I usually don't shoe the unhooking part because it's not very interesting. Often the hook will come out on its own once the fish is in the net and the tension I off the hook. Otherwise I just remove the fly with my fingers. Occasionally (once every 20 or 30 fish) I'll need to use pliers to remove a hook that is a bit deeper in the fish's mouth.
Yup , that was indeed a BEAR !! Hope you carry your bear spray , a lot of the places you fish do have bears ( probably you knew that already ) Might consider wearing a bear bell , just sayin . Great video , nice fish , beautiful country 👍👍
Great video one of the best I’ve seen in a while! be nice if you could show us or tell us what fly you’re using without getting too technical for the newbies. Thanks
Hey Tristan, love the channel and following your tenkara trips. I was looking for a way to email you, I’m interested in tenkara and wondered if you had any advice on how to get started?
Is this the raft river range? If not, then technically those Yellowstone cuttys are not native, they are just wild. The raft river range in NW Utah is the only snake river drainage in Utah with native AND wild Yellowstone cuttys. That is, if i remember correctly.
I'm not sure if you have said it in any of your previous videos, but do you use fly floatant for any of your flies? By the way, that was an unbelievable video!
Perfect light... no shadows to spook the fish..beautiful stream ...beautiful fish!
That’s a beautiful creek man. Great video

Awesome! Have fun!
That bear sighting was absolutely NUTS!

Just got my first Tenkara rod.. Headed to MT next week. Thanks for helping me get psyched. Great channel.
Awesome, you'll have a great time!
Have been watching your Tenkara fishing ordered one today! I think I am hooked, before I have a rod. Go figure.
Beautiful creek, amazing catch, and the bear was gravy! Nice!!
Thanks, glad you liked it! It was a great day 👍
Great Video! The stream reminds me on the small streams, that we have here in Austria. Greetings from Upper-Austria!
Thanks Willi!

Tenkara is perfect for that kind of thing. Thanks for watching.
Where is this stream? Fun videos.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! What a great day on the stream. Thanks so much for sharing :)
You’re more brave than I am; I’ve seen too many bears kinda close. If I had scared that little black bear, I’d probably have headed back to my car.
Always a pleasure fishing with Tenkara. The day after tomorrow Will arrive my new tenkara Rod. The second one of tenkara. I Hope it work well also in big lakes of Alpi mountains in North of Italy
You'll love it!
amazing, i like and use the fishing method
Awesome, Tristan. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Thanks for watching!
The best tenkara video yet!
Thanks Steve!
Now that was awesome. Nice bear too.
Thanks 👍
thanks sharing, I am confused about tenkara fly fishing, but at last, I find some guides about this on maxcatchfishing by accident, it's good!
Nice dude, looked like a great outing!
Thanks Scott!
Do you ever run into mountain lions?
Living the dream bro. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

It's so green and lush!
Yep, this is a really beautiful place to fish!

Could you possibly do a fly tying video of the Utah Killer Kebari that you use ?
Yep, I'll do that in the future. Thanks for watching.
Great video one of the best I’ve seen in a while!
be nice if you could show us or tell us what fly you’re using without getting too technical for the newbies.
Thanks
I list the fly I use in the description of every video. I basically just use one fly.
Well, THAT had to give you a thrill!
It was pretty cool!
What boots are you using?
That was awesome ! thank you
Thanks for watching!
I would like to see a video from a different angle. That being one where we can watch you and how you handle the rod to land the fish
👍
Great post!!
Thanks!

This is in Idaho, not Utah.
@@TenkaraAddict gotcha! I guess i just assumed that most if your videos are in Utah so this one probably was as well!
sorry but do you ever eat any of the fish you catch?
Just got my first Sato Tenkara Rod. How much level line length do I need to use and Tippet Length? Thanks!!!
The line is generally the length of the rod, and use 3 feet of tippet
Thanks!!! I enjoy the videos!!! Subscribed to your channel today.
Do you ever use a strike indicator or are you so close you see the fish take it?
Basically I watch the line and use that to determine if a fish is on. No strike indicator.
I would has skedaddled right out of that spot and let Mr Bear have it. You had some keepers there. I would be making dinner.
I don't really like the taste of fish, so I let them go 😁
I'm not sure if you have said it in any of your previous videos, but do you use fly floatant for any of your flies? By the way, that was an unbelievable video!
Nope, I don't use floatant. Thanks for watching.
@@TenkaraAddict Thanks for the quick response! Looking forward to every Saturday to see your newest trips!
I never cut throat
Remember: the bear is just as afraid of you as you are of it.
Since it could rip you to shreds in under 5 minutes, that’s probably not true.
Yikes! Get a bear bell on your backpack! And some bear spray just in case!
I had bear spray on me 👍
👍👍
👏👍
locations, at least some hints please😎
Nope, sorry!
Amazing net catch! Come join the Colorado Tenkara Club on facebook and fish with us sometime. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself over here.
Nah, too much good fishing between here and there for me to get through 😁
