@kim a haha that's true actually, Sweden is like the small "big" brother of scandinavia. Here in Norway we always laugh at the swedes but we love them still
I always picture finland as that distant uncle who as to take care of his niece nephews. That are Norway (younger) and danish (older) as brothers (just because their language are the most similar) and sweeden as the pretty and strong big sister. Then Iceland and Greenland are those stereotypical pranksters and twins that got their names switched up at birth. Why dó I think like this ¿𓀡 I’m Icelandic btw
The Norwegian flag colours are said to represent the white of snow, the red of the evening sun, and the blue of glaciers. Referring to a popular song from the mid to end of ww2
I know that it used to belong to Norway. But why did Greenland not use a Nordic flag, that's the question, also, did you say the Faroe Islands are part of Scotland? That's a common misconception, the Faroes are part of Denmark.
@@ObjectManiacJennifer27 I threw the Faroe Island together because they share the same origin just like Shetland, and the Orkney island. Settled by norwegians. All three island groups were lost from norway's grasp at different points in history, and for different reasons. Greenland most likely did not get a cross because they are not big fans of the fact that they are a dependency under the danish crown.
In my opinion it’s time to let Estonia be a nice small Nordic country. Estonia very deserves to be a Nordic country, because Estonia has done a lot of work, we have many smart people, we are good at digital things, we have northern lights and we are very similar to Finland and other Nordic countries like: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Greenland. We are not similar to Latvia and Lithuania and the other Eastern Europe countries. It’s time to stop calling Estonia Eastern Europe country and Baltic country and forget all this terrible, rude and mean Soviet times. Let’s just stop this Eastern Europe and Soviet stigma thing and let Estonia turn the new page and let them be a normal small Nordic country next to Sweden and Finland!!! Estonians call themselves the Nordic country and many other people and tourists had also said that Estonia should be a Nordic country, because Estonian people are Finnic people not Balts and we are more similar to Scandinavia. Yes many people had agreed with that Estonia must belong to the Nordic group and seperate from Latvia and Lithuania. They don’t even need these countries, because Estonians communicate more with Finns and other Scandinavian countries. Estonia will be a very good partner for the other Nordic countries. We will do a very great work and we will be very strong!!! ☺️🙏

You failed to mention that the German naval flag 1871-45 was also the Nordic cross , as well as Estonia’s naval flag since its independence. Also the Lithuanian and Latvjian naval flags are a Version of the Nordic cross flag .
wolfsschanze_6 Finland’s language is Uralic in origin, it was part of Sweden for centuries before being part of Russia. So yes and no it’s certainly not Scandinavian :)
@@hejhej4441 That was just part of Norway and not the entire thing. That's basically like saying Sweden was a part of Denmark because Denmark owned Gotland for a period of time.
Today's Greenlandic population descends from eskimos who arrived from the North around the same time Norwegians arrived from the South. Some say the Greenlandic name for Greenland is a derivative of the name given to the eskimos by the vikings: skrællinger.
Nordic countries are the least religious in Europe, but they all have crosses on their flags. Anti-Islamism is also very high in these countries. I guess they're just too confused.

Blue is for the rivers
