to be fair, they are under-represented in media / documentaries / movies. they were very large . an adult rex or even sub adult would just try to approach from the front and get a bite on its head without getthing whacked. . if they got whacked they'd not be able to hunt as effectively. Now triceratops.. a 30 foot long elephant high beast with actual horns instead of tusks. and neck muscles more evolved than most animals today. and their sockets... a rex would never go for a healthy adult. mayyyybve if it somehow got behind one and was able to rip a chunk of the spine out without getting gored to death.. . but triceratops is truly a terrifying animal.
@@timetraveler1973 From what I understand about predators, they all prefer weak or young prey. If a health adult trike somehow got it's horns stuck in a tree, which probably did happen just as deer have had locked horns in ways lead to both animals dying, I don't see why a trex would pass up an easy meal like that when it knew it could win. An experienced trex would definitely go after a dehorned trike, one that had lost it's horns in a dominance fight.
@@RoaringEcho lol the coolest thing for me is that the ceratopsian species, as far as I am aware, remain the only ones with a ball and socket neck. No other animal has that biology, nor humans.
Absolutely possible! Fossils only give us a snapshot, and who knows what kind of massive frills might have existed. Do you think those larger frills were more for defense, attracting mates, or maybe even for showing dominance? Imagine a triceratops with a frill so huge it could barely walk... would that be practical or just prehistoric flair?
poor eyesight. hence the neck bone and socket. they probably fought eachother a lot. and if they were attacked by a large predator they coule just swing their head around like a dying animal desperate to live.
Didn’t know the youngest / last large Dino skeleton was a Triceratops. Interesting… Challenging T-Rex’s dominance has been a scientific pursuit for decades. I still think T-Rex was the apex but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be brutally beaten in a fight. On the other hand, I haven’t heard or read evidence that Triceratops actively hunted for T-Rexes or other carnivores to impale them on their horns.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! T. Rex is the ultimate apex predator for sure, yet Triceratops certainly had the tools to defend itself effectively when cornered. It's fascinating to imagine how these two titans might have interacted or battled. Glad you enjoyed the video!
triceratops could very easily kill T rex, if big T makes one wrong move, but it definitely wasn't the only animal that could kill it, as there were plenty of other animals that could very well spell doom for T: ankylosaurus (who probably has a bigger chance at defeating rex, than trike, due to a superior defense) Alamosaurus Torosaurus (a very close relative to trike) Edmontosaurus (it could kick rex with a powerful force, had a very long muscular tail, that could have been used in battle)
Great points! There’s actually quite a few dinosaurs that could hold their own against Big T under the right conditions. I totally agree that Ankylosaurus might have had an even better chance with its incredible armor and devastating clubbed tail compared to Trike (assuming you're an ark player here). It’s also fascinating to imagine herbivores like Edmontosaurus using their powerful tails or kicks as defensive weapons. It really makes you wonder how often these epic battles played out in the prehistoric world!
The only thing I disagree with is edmontosaurus because it didn't really have any weapons it couldn't really kick like a horse it did have tail the only other weapon as it's front legs which it would have to rear up to use which would put it in a position to easily get bitten
I think the only trexs that would prey on a trike are the fully grown EXPERIENCEED ones and maybe a starving one...a young healthy trex would probably avoid a trike unless it was sick or injured
This video is very misinformative, Ankylosaurus magniventris has done more damage to a Tyrannosaurus rex than any other dinosaur, even more so than Triceratops horridus.
To say giga vs trwx never happened because of milions of years is tehnicly wrong because trex won vs giga thts why the tyranos stayed around and giga died out
Absolutely! Imagine the sheer force of a Triceratops coming at you at full speed. Do you think a fully grown T. rex would’ve been agile enough to dodge such an attack?
Triceratops was the only one... ankylosaurus... "Am i a joke to you?"
The only known case of injury.
No smashed rex bones have been found.
But a rex got stabbed in the back.

@@titanrahlgaming That's legit pretty cool.
This was a pretty good documentary … liked learning about the damage shown in fossils!
Like Allen Grant from the Jurassic movies Triceratops was always my favorite as a kid, perfectly designed to take on Hugh predators.
It was always my favorite dinosaur as a kid.... and it didn't have feathers!
A lot of people can relate to you my friend, triceratops definitely holds a special place in our hearts!
The one with spiny ball on its tail for whackin' is cool too.
We're cooking the video for that one. Stay tuned 😉
Ankylosaurus wasnt invited to the party, poor guy
Other rexes have injured rexes that we know of and im pretty sure we've found the broken ankle of a rex from an ankylosaurus
No doubt, triceratops is my favorite dino....and Slag was my favorite Dinobot!😅

Never heard of ankylosaurus it appears.
while it is likely that it did injure tyrannosaurus, we dont have direct evidence of it

Large male edmont: hold my beer
Lol
Wasn't aware triceratops was a sauropod
Ride this into battle. Sit behind natural shield whilst riding
With 2 swords attached to the face of that massive shield, badass!
If Im not mistaken ankylosaurs are also known to have injured Trex
Watch herds. When one dies the herd leaves. Herd mentality is easy to identify.
Best dinosaur.
