- Crazy rusty vintage stove door Restoration. In this video, I showed the cleaning and restoration of an old, very rusty stove door. I found this stove door at the bottom of a WW1 dugout. The door was very rusty and I did not know if the metal was preserved under the rust. I decided to restore and clean the stove door. I removed the rust using several methods. Unfortunately, in some parts of the door, the metal has completely rusted and holes have formed. I canned the metal. I hope you enjoyed my restoration video.

The pitting, color, sheen, and texture are really nice.
REAL restorarion! In a REAL RUSTY PIECE. Not a fake! Great!
I would consider it a rust removal video. 😂
In any case, it's a lot of work and the result is absolutely OK 😉
The lettering on the door means:
Cooker factory and enamelling plant
ltd.
Darmstadt
This company was founded in 1911 and was located in Darmstadt (a few miles south of Frankfurt on the river Main)
Let's say it's a 10/10
(Because you presented some effective ways to remove rust 🤩)
Definitely both thumbs up for this 👍🏼 and many a thanks for sharing 🙏🏼 Keep it up, mate 😉)
You and your family have a great week and stay safe and sound.
Greetings from the German north sea shore.
🤠👍🏼
I am actually amazed. German ironwork is normally very good, but as bad as the rust was, I did not expect even that much to survive. With your skill, you could well in some patches and maybe make it useful again. Very fine work!
Another awesome restoration, something totally different and unique. Loving the old rustic patina and i personally think the look of it is amazing 👍
I watched a lot of restoration channels and this is the best one. Thank you for that beautiful channel😊
Very nice little door !! Amazing work it cleaned up really well !! Very nice !! 👍👍
❤❤❤ chào bạn
Nice seeing other things besides knives. :p
Amazing work! Who knew there was still metal underneath all that rust?!
Yay, the metal detector found something besides knives 😃
not all the knives from the canal were found by a metal detector
@@night_city_7 not all knives are found in canals

Amazing Restoration 👍🏻👍🏽👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
❤❤❤ kỹ thuật phục hồi tuyệt vời
I think ones like this which aren't necessarily a restoration to a usable state or are for a museum piece should be titled as a preservation video instead of restoration for the sake of accuracy.
🤝
Дуже кропітка робота ! Супер !👍🏻
Perhaps sand blasting was a bit too much.
❤❤❤
Oh man, the level of satisfaction I got out of watching this video! ❤
my favourite part is when you chisel off the rust
I wonder: What if you would essentially temper the thing; heat the whole thing to red hot in an oven, then dunk it into cold water/oil. I think/guess, the thermal expansion/contraction of the rusty section and the bulk material would likely be different enough to sufficiently separate from one another? Cool video, thanks!!!
Thank you for saving a piece of history. I enjoyed the video
10! That was an incredible amount of rust. I wonder how much the rust weighed…
Good job mister beautifully done
I enjoyed your video! Oddly satisfying!
You presented some interesting methods of rust removal. I've never seen a torch used for removal before. Great job of removal. Cast iron isn't as easy to clean as hard steel. One question: Are there some preservation properties in sunflower oil as opposed to, say, oils from refined petroleum?
I enjoyed that. All that scrapping and scratching brings me such satisfaction. I was dozing off from all that good ASMR. Tickled my brain just right. 😁👍
Dope AF results, @ReXtorer!
if it was found in war dugout, those holes might have appeared to it before rust. :D
Nice vid, great job, bro !! 😊👍
👌😊
excellent travaille Bon resto ration merci beaucoup
I think that sanding machine could have done this unrusting job way too faster 😊
Super robota, teraz kolej na piec i będzie komplet 👍
Виявляється , що є ще на світі речі для відновлення ! А не тільки ножі...
❤❤❤❤❤
What happened in the sandblasting machine?
Don't think I would consider just removing rust a restoration, didn't even fill in the holes.
lol
3:56 I hope you wore a respirator. Rusty lungs aren't the best
yes, of course I use a respirator
Ура нове відео
✌️👍
👍
How does that electrolysis work? It appears that the anode is in contact with the object and the object is connected to negative, so is that not just a short circuit? Surely the anode needs to be distanced from the object?
Also, the handle was not electrically bonded to the door because of the rust barrier between the parts. But yeah, the anode isn't supposed to touch the work piece.
How come you are not sa d blasting the metal?
I used sandblasting. But it will not cope with such rust, it is necessary to soften the rust
This rust is fake FOR SURE!
Jokin'! 😂🤣
Good job! 👍🏻

Я всё понимаю но именно эта печная дверца это уже металлолом, зря он взялся с ней возится , есть ещё сотни предметов которые ждут его рук не тратьте время впустую , оно того не стоит
