    • @Gwen3344
      @Gwen3344 4 года назад +65

      @@wolfrage1686 Actually, I don't think so. It's pretty clear that the owner positioned herself next to the fence, raised her arms and Pink knew that was her cue both that the course run was over and that those waiting arms were there for Pink to jump into. You can see that pretty clearly in the replay at the 1:25 mark.
      As often as Pink has run that type of course, as well trained as she is to run it, as intelligent as she clearly is, it stands to reason that she would be, and could be, also trained to leap into her "human's" arms when the run concluded.

      @@Yukooo333 They are amazing and so comical in their energy. My parents had two on their ranch, and I adopted one myself years ago. An old lady my friend knew wasnt able to look after him, so I took him home. When I asked his name, she said Its Chase...you understand why very soon.
      The first afternoon I threw a ball for him, and even after I was finished with the game he kept dropping the ball on my foot, to tell me to throw it again. I woke the first morning to a thump thump thump sound. I rolled over and opened my eyes, and he was at the side of my bed with the ball in his mouth and jumping straight up 4 feet in the air, with a "good morning" look on his face.
      He was relentless. One day I thought...Ok buddy, Im going to wear you out. I made a tennis ball launcher because my arm was getting sore from throwing the ball. It sent the ball WAY out into the field. He never wanted to stop. I finally stopped out of fear that maybe he was so loyal to please me by chasing that he might run until he dropped. It kind of freaked me out honestly. These dogs are incredible, and SO SMART, but not meant for city living in my opinion. A walk in the park is not enough to satisfy their need to GO. But in the right environment, they are an absolute joy to be around.

From their origin as sheep dogs they are not breeded for permanent activity but for short and focused moments of concentration and power and after that resting for a long time. I also had to teach my BC (he was 7months old when he came to me with a very said history behind) how to rest because if the owner doesn't tell them to pause they will always ask for a new job. So yeah, my BC can rest for hours if I tell him: "Not now."

      For this type of circuit and group size, border collies possibly having the best balance of speed and agility - they should maybe just have their own class. It's almost like putting another breed to compete with greyhounds on the coursing speedway.
