Awesome! Splitting with that hackberry handle made me nervous. Lol it takes overstrike damage easily. Glad your liking it kevin. I enjoyed it too. Looks like it’s found a good home!
Great video man !!! Both axes seemed to chop really well, super cool of both Ben and Matt for the awesome gifts !! Yeah man that stringy maple can be some stubborn stuff !! Really enjoyed watching 🤙
Nice work. Sure is pretty red oak. Burns real hot, and if you kill a few pieces is incredibly nice to have around the property for repairs and projects!
Great intro edit! Beaut winter wonderland, fire, build scenes, cool axes...Awesome vid 😎. What was the file you were using at 0:32, interesting tooth pattern. Onto the second watch now, you got me off the porch and into the shed, filing the Brades😁 Cheers!
Really well put together video. I’d kill for some snow right now I miss it terribly. We have lots of pulpwood around here, and because of the small tree size an axe can actually still be pretty competitive against a saw.
Loved the snow shots in this one! Nice chopping and beautiful axes. Take care.
I love shooting in the snow.

I was splitting some big saw cut rounds with it and took a little chunk out of it. Just wanted to see what it could handle.

Yep, both fun axes!
Lovely couple days in the woods! Both axes are sweet!

Nice axes! Glad you are feeling better and can swing em
Me too, thanks

That Brades of yours is gorgeous. I think the file was a double cut simmonds, but I’ll check for you.
2 beautiful axes and a great way to pass some free time
Yep
Nothing like a nice piece of british steel 👊🏼
Nice chopping. I really like that dayton axe from Ben.
She’s a beauty!
Both nice axes. The winter here in PA has been horribly boring so far. Hoping for some sustained cold weather and snow for a change.
I’m with you. It’s been like early spring all winter.
Beautiful little axes and a nice video.
Thanks, Matt!
Good to see you out in the wilds.
Always good to be out in the woods
Thanks Kevin

I maintain that axes only make sense for trees under 6”. Obviously they’ll never keep up with a saw, but they’re cheaper and a lot more fun to use.
glad you like that head, steel held up well
Yep, no issues with the steel so far, and I split some big saw cut rounds with it just to see.
