Here’s my take, what you (Mori) did during your last session was more than enough. No need to keep pushing because you will lose your voice and nobody wants that. You’re now 27, really you don’t have anything to prove as far as vocal range is concerned. Sing where you’re comfortable, take a step back when you need it and protect your voice and concentrate on healthy singing.
I came from a long line of musicians and I’ve seen performers consistently singing lose their voices because of pushing too hard.
Never compare yourself to all these other RUclips performers. They are just YT performers, they aren’t consistently doing multiple songs so they can push. A lot of them are even lip syncing during their videos.
What I’m saying is, you do you.
This is what i’m excited for mori. I hope she makes more songs na hindi puro birit. The from the sea project really highlighted the pretty side of her voice.

I know as fans we can get very selfish and demanding from our favourite idols. I couldn’t imagine the amount of pressure Mori had to put up with during the initial stage of her career. The pressure and stress obviously came with a toll both on your voice and with your mental health. There is nothing worse then putting pressure on someone to perform or to succeed. With regards to anxiety and depression I didn’t know what this illness was until my wife broke down with postnatal depression. For people that do not have depression please be understanding and be loving. We have 2 beautiful children both grown adults now but both have mental health issues. The most important lesson I learned from this illness is not to put pressures and have high expectations on others. I was glad and proud as a dad that I never put any pressures on my children when they were growing up. When my kids discussed about their future I emphasised to them … “find something you have a passion for and don’t do it for the mighty $”
I’m so glad Mori you’re now in control of your own destiny. Be selfish and think of yourself and the longevity of your voice because your voice is so very special and it only comes around once in a lifetime. Your voice is amazing whether you hit the high notes or not. Take a leaf out of the book from one of my favourite artist Barbra Streisand from the past. She was singing well into her 50s and I have just read she doing a comeback concerts in 2024 and she’s currently 81!

I understand that mental health is important. Self-care is definitely #1 priority. This is just my personal view: even the best singers will have their off days & that is okay. I remember when Whitney lost her voice and she had to see a voice teacher/coach. In fact, just saw another video where a known singer gave advice to someone about how a mentor guided her to seek a vocal teacher. I’m not a singer or anything and def not an expert. I just love music and still know you are one of the greatest out here. I know you are known to sing all these power ballads and crazy songs but I do remember “AWNW” on wish which was the first song I heard you sing and that’s when I became a fan. With that said, no matter what you do, I support you and your journey. We are excited for your new music and wish you all the happiness. This is why I also like singers like Arthur Nery, Adie, recently Dave and all those who freely use any register like the falsetto and head voice, or those singers who use their mixed voice because they are able to sing more freely and comfortably. For Morissette, her lighter voice, where she does not have to belt or use her full voice is as pleasing as her voice when belting those very high notes. While growls, voice cracks, whistles and those longer phrases in full belt is what made Morissette more known, it does not mean it is her best version. Her other "side" or version everytime she sings very light and calm songs is equally beautiful and could even be better for both her and her listeners who are also tired with type of songs that "strong" or belty.

Thank you Mori and Dave for such an insightful video. Thank you for explaining why Mori doesn't hit the high notes all the time. People need to hear that Morissette is not superhuman even though many of us think she is. We want to hear her singing for decades to come even if it means that she holds back a little on some of the songs she sings. We understand! We want you to have a very long highlight real that takes decades to put together. We also love to see the two of you in your natural setting living normal lives enjoying your time with each other and with your pets. I will be in the Philippines next month for 3 to 4 weeks. I can't wait!!!

I want to preface my next thoughts with a disclaimer. I am just a fan, not in the Industry, I am on the outside looking in. Fans who follow you pretty closely are privy to something you have been transparent about really the last two years, in lives and interviews concerning the vocal demand and the toll it takes both physically and mentally on you. In many ways it's almost a casualty of greatness. When you commit to a song you give it your everything ,that then translates to your audience, and they're hooked! It just so happens that these extreme vocal tracks stick . (you never know what's going to hit as we see that play out time and time again) . I'm not an unsolicited advice type of person, so this is not that. You know what's best for you. I respect that boundary always! I say continue to create, build, innovate, and explore every nook and cranny from your depths as an artist. We're already seeing it. While Fans in mass have come to know you as this extreme power vocalist, those in the know realize you are far more. Let's use Pizza for example (nice homage to dear Italy 😉) People will come from miles around for the best Pizza, (just as people have come to know your extreme vocal chops) but Italian food has a world more to offer in addition to Pizza and so do you! There are over 350 different pasta noodles and over 1000 types of Pasta ( that's just pasta!) Once people are exposed, they embrace and love all there is to offer. While well meaning admirers call you "The Mariah of the Philippines" you are in fact Morissette the one and only! You have stories to tell, feelings to express, and songs to sing unique to you, not to mention those who trust you to tell their stories too! I think it was Lea Salonga that mentioned to you that this art is ultimately supposed to be joy ! That is my prayer for you this 2024, that you feel that freedom and joy !

One thing this lady doesn't need is a vocal coach, they wouldn't be able to teach her anything she doesn't already know, there's a lot of reactor vocal coaches that haven't been able to fathom her out or pick out any flaws in her vocals, not bad for someone who is basically self taught, she's just built different to any other ARTIST out there 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
@@steveheckle8847 I understand, but vocal coaches will give her vocal exercises and slightly different techniques to help her stay healthy. I'm not saying Mori doesn't have skills, she has TONS of skills, but people can always benefit from learning more 🙂
@@corozal987 you would never be able to teach her what she doesn't already know,, she would be wasting time and money, her music experiences are vast for someone so young, she knows how to take care of her voice by the choices she makes 🇬🇧.

I'm only responding to that, I'm not questioning ANYTHING else. I'm a huge fan, like "playlist only containing her songs" kind of a fan. Only responding to her comments and story in the video. Not attacking her in ANY shape or form.

I have seen some of your work like the video (Could you be Messiah) I am curious if you did O Come, O Come Emmanuel / O Come All Ye Faithful (feat.
