I got this for my birthday, as a gift.. picked it up today. I love it after 1 mile of a test run.. I haven't cycled since i was a teenager. Im now 48. I just cant afford a car . Heres to getting around to my appointments and getting a bit fit at same time. Thank you for this video and safe cycling 👍🙂
I have same bike . Changed the tyres to schwalbe tour plus , swapped to a 42/32/22 in the front and 11/36 cassette in the rear and fitted a Topeak rear rack . I've riden approx 1500 miles on and off road , loaded with gear and food for wild camping . So far I've only had to replace a broken spoke in the back wheel . The frame, wheels and fork have held up well given the abuse it has had . Hope you have good luck with your bike .
Wow you've really but it to the test! So far mine has had exclusive road use (probably done around 200 miles now) and I've had no issues🤞 Maybe it's time to take mine further afield!
I’ve spotted a used example at our local charity shop for £90, it’s quite well used but looked after. It’s got full mudguards which are a bonus, the only problem is the chain is missing. I’m still considering it.
August 2023 got it for £80 -guy just brought it to comute to work in london and didnt use it much because hi had road bike as well... was like new -no scratches -just dust on it Crossfire 2 -great bike 1 think 2 do on bike is Shwable marathon plus tyres are punch proof and for xtra protection fill SLIME into tube...
@Poncho202 Just came across this video... Have been researching Carrera Crossfire 2 this week and wondered if it's right for me... My main concern is no lockout on the suspension... is this an issue when cycling on flat tarmac? Does it slow you down ? I want comfort for city and countryside cycling.... and unsure whether to get a bike with or without suspension?
I don't find the suspension an issue, you can't lock it out, but it's comfy on flat tarmac. It's just right as it smooths out any bumps in the road on the handlebars, but bear in mind there is no seat suspension so sometimes bumps can come through this part of the bike. I think it's quite fast so I doubt the suspension affects the speed 👍
Anyone who has crossfire , I recommend them bolt axle not the quick release as for my old bike , the axle kept breaking twice and wondered why my bike is having a death wobble😅
@Edward Cullen still no problems with the bike after 9 months. The gear changes are a little sluggish every now and then which they weren't before, but it is due a service
I'd say £180 is expensive for a used carrera, never paid more then £50 for a used carrera, I'm currently riding a carrera zelos converted to single speed, might buy a crossfire and convert to road forks drop bars and make a gravel bike
In terms of the Crossfire 2s, there were only a couple cheaper than this that popped up (no older than 4 yrs old) over the course of a month or so. I consider this one an excellent deal because of how new it is, how little it was used and the amount of accessories that came with in under the price 👍
Bike pricing is difficult, £100 is literally nothing for a good bike, and Carrera are good, so if you're too cheap, you're gonna get cheap, there'll be something .....wrong.
Personally I'd add some color matched parts like green grips or something but I wouldn't go over kill but tbh me being me Im always buying parts for my bike and also be careful bc slightest crash could Potentially damage the bike badly carreras arnt to stronge
Green grips are a good idea actually, that hadn't crossed my mind yet- cheers! Yup since filming this I've sustained a few more scratches but overall still a rlly clean bike 👌
@@Poncho202 I know buddy the only thing that isn’t original from looks is the handlebars but that’s a easy fix my plans are to convert it into a 27.5er for more of a mountain bike feel to it
Could cause a major international incident should the cable snap as a result of the ingress of water causing the cyclist to crash into a VIP. like tanya from love Island for example.

I've always cycled since I was little but especially from 14 when lockdown started. Enjoy your bike!
I appreciate the camera angles and effort in this video

@@TracyBrennan-w4p hope you get a good deal on one!
Imo needs a set of road bike forks to lower the front end

This looks like older model, but better than the newer one
I think built Dec 2020, sold Jan 2021
I have one but can not find which size it is anyone no where to look ?
On mine it was on back of the seat pillar, if not sometimes there is a tag attached to the brake line 👍
@@Poncho202 thanks I will have a look now
So was it?@@KTSDRE-n1r
Hold the tape measure to the centre of the pedal axel, and measure up to the top of the seat post tube, without the seat post in it. Simple really😊

Can you tell me what the demotion of the tayers I want to buy the same one please
hi mate is this a large or medium frame?
Large frame mate- I'm 6 foot dead and it fits perfect 👌

I thought the lack of a gromit on the upward facing rear brake cable sleeve a false economy.
Nice bike. Is it a lot faster than a mountain bike ?
Do you go off road on this bike?
@alexfutter8223 to be honest not really I have a mountain bike for that; this one is not really built for it especially with the road tyres
Watching this video to see specifications as I just got this exact same bike for free (crazy right)
