As a Taiwanese basketball fan, I've got a request is " Please take D. Howard back to the States". At the beginning, we all have huge hope on him, expecting that he could bring the sunshine to Taiwanese Basketball League, but we are wrong. He came playing 2 games, coz of some hit on the knee in the game, then he took a two-week break then extended to a month, remember, he only played 2 games and he took 20 M. US dollars per month. In that period, we only saw that he was going to tons of parties, food tours, flirting on beautiful girls, and live streaming, there's nothing about basketball in that period. In that long month, he only trained in the gym one time, practiced with teammate one time, then, nothing! After he came back after a month long break he came back to the court, THEN AGAIN! He played two games and he said his knee was still not ok, and he got hit on the thigh the last game, his wrist felt sore too, and he took a break AGAIN! AGAIN! People in the court for him gone mad, booing on the leopard in the home court and turning into supporting the rival team. What a joke, Howard really is soft and irresponsible! Basically, I don't see him follow the strategy to play, he sucked at shooting 3- pointers and free throw, and he kept doing that, he even dribbled the ball to the half court then the PG and SG were scolded by the folks. C'mon, it's not their fault! It's really unfortunate that they are the teammates of D.H. Please take Howard back to the States, he's just like a giant baby who's cheeky on the court. At the first that I thought maybe NBA really misunderstood him, but now in these 2 months, NBA, O'Neal, and Kobe's comments were right! He's always saying he's 37 yrs and it's impossible to play more that much, but other playes who are over 35 are still playing hard and performing good scores ( Another player who is 38yrs still got 30 points after a super tired b-b-b game series and he even doesn't get 1/60 of howard's payment. )
@@Amick44 neither of them were mvp candidates nor did either lead a team deep in the post season. Terrible comparison. Dwight had a FAAAR better career than both of them.
I feel change happen when he left magic and mentality change to him thinking he could be the man for a team. Then also the role of a big man started to evolve. To what it is now.
Prime Dwight was built like a super hero, def. does not get the respect he deserves. Carried his team to the finals and to me that Orlando team was a little ahead of the curve they were bombing 3s left and right and Dwight was terrorizing the post
He got injured and declined, plus the game changed on him, it got softer with all the fouls which opened up more and it became more of a full court and shoot happy league, big men like him in general suffered because of the game becoming softer
This video should be titled “the rise fall and redemption” of Dwight howard. He went from a top 5 player in the league to a centre who refused to buy in to the new era, then to a great backup centre in his final years
Dwight was just a guy who didn't really like basketball but was given one of the best physical build for basketball. It's enough to get him to the all star level but not enough to get him to the superstar level.
His problem was never his physical attributes or skill. Its his off court issue that solidify himself as a player no team wants to sign. Dwight can't attract tickets anymore plus no market for him to sign shoe deals or make money off any merchandise that hr represents. Why I say his game is not an issue... Dwight has actually trim down his weight and work on his body when the NBA went small ball and this also helps his knees as he was getting older. Plus he was also capable of being a role player.
He was dominating when he was in his prime and his zone. I remember one time when he decided to leave the Lakers for Houston I called him scared of playing in a big city like l.a. he replied Wich showed me he wasn't ready for Los Angeles. But I'm glad he came back to help us get a ship with lebron and Davis.
Dwight Howard was a role player who fit a specific niche. He played great defense but little more. Once he left Orlando and their three point shooters who opened up the center for him to post up one on one he wasn't as good. What also helped was the refs stopped letting him get away with 30 fouls a game. The guy fouled on almost ever other play but seldom got into foul trouble.
What? One of the last dominating big men centers under the rim of the 2000s needed a mid range game and a 3-point shot? He definitely needed to work his free throw game but in what world in the rise of the 3-point shot with Point and shooting guards would a Center pull away from covering the basket?
He was lucky, when he reached his prime there were very few good centers in the league. 90% athleticism 10% skills. In 90s only way for him to participate in all-star wekeend was dunk contest...
@@kapengbarako4523 Ewing,Robinson and Hakeem were on the way out. Garnett isn't a true center so that just leaves Duncan and a select few. So my point still stands that there were very few GOOD centers during Shaq's prime just like with Dwight.

i just realized Shaq and Dwight have identical Careers (In the beginning) both were skinny guys being drafted onto the Orlando magic who weren't having success then they both started getting bigger and get to the finals for Orlando where they lose then both moved to the Lakers to play with Kobe and try to win a ring and that when they go different ways
people that say he should not be in the hall of fame are obviously not real fans of the NBA, and when he won a ring, he should be first ballot hall of fame
What blows my mind is that we are sitting here making fun of him and everything and questioning him if he's gay or not like that really matters yet when these weirdos who have 18 different color in their hair and they identify as a helicopter we're giving them sympathy and compassion
Not top 75? PAH. The basis for the selection was not stat related. It was overall impact on the game. Fuck sake, there was two rules that got implemented because of Dwight, and another two that he forced to be altered because of his impact and dominance, and all four of those are still in effect today. And that's just one of the MANY ways Dwight has impacted the game of basketball and the NBA as a whole. And guaranteed some of his impacts will likely remain permanent. That's not worthy of top 75? Delusional is the first word that then pops to mind.
@@xavierforsyth7350 There's a few I could definitely think of to trade out for Dwight given his overall impact on the league and game itself. Such an athletically gifted dude, he could have been a goat center if he had that mentality when he was younger and the game hadn't shifted away from players like him
Can you imagine if T-Mac stayed with the Magic? I feel like D-Wight & T-Mac on the Magic could've been a championship contender.
After Dwight’s back injury he was never the same. Can’t speak on his mentality cuz I don’t know dude, but gotta think that injury had more effect than any other single issue
True.
9:14-9:20 this part always makes me laugh 😂
He's always saying he's 37 yrs and it's impossible to play more that much, but other playes who are over 35 are still playing hard and performing good scores ( Another player who is 38yrs still got 30 points after a super tired b-b-b game series and he even doesn't get 1/60 of howard's payment. )
Dwight deserves more respect
Dwight should be a top 60 player ever
Dwight is a solid role player now which happens when players get old
That's all he's been for many yrs. Yet folks don't whine that Vince and Grant Hill didn't make top 75.
@@Amick44 neither of them were mvp candidates nor did either lead a team deep in the post season. Terrible comparison. Dwight had a FAAAR better career than both of them.
@@TheIcemanthomas he's been a part time journeyman for so long. You can have him.
Great video!
Being a 98 baby I can vouch Dwight was a dominant center during my childhood as O'Neal was nearing his end an Yao was just injury prone
That “ocean of protein” line was beautiful 🤣
I feel change happen when he left magic and mentality change to him thinking he could be the man for a team. Then also the role of a big man started to evolve. To what it is now.
Prime Dwight was built like a super hero, def. does not get the respect he deserves. Carried his team to the finals and to me that Orlando team was a little ahead of the curve they were bombing 3s left and right and Dwight was terrorizing the post
Dwight didn't have a bad career he just didn't fit well on good teams until he was a role player.
Pls this legend has not fallen
I enjoyed watching him play. After rodman, shaq, Dwight was my favorite for the last big man
I don't follow basketball, but I've been playing nba 2k mobile and just packed Dwight , and I'm here
He is in top 75 for real
bro ur channel is amazing.
I miss the old Dwight ☹️
He dominated the paint , he was so strong back then and athletic
"The lakers built a superteam with nash, Kobe, Pau, and Dwight howard"
Where have I heard that before? 🤔🤔
Dwight is a Great Player, he accomplished many things in the NBA and a Championship which even some other Great Players didn't unfortunately.
*The rise and fall of Dwight D. Eisenhoward*
I'm all for it.
Lol 😂 😂
👍good one
I am stealing that one...
He got injured and declined, plus the game changed on him, it got softer with all the fouls which opened up more and it became more of a full court and shoot happy league, big men like him in general suffered because of the game becoming softer
This man is such a talent
Man I just wanna see him win another Chip before retiring
People love to focus on the negative with Dwight, but he's an all-time great and will easily deservingly make the HOF.
Shoulders of steel...the Bodybuilder of NBA hh !
No one can stay the best at their prime forever.
This video should be titled “the rise fall and redemption” of Dwight howard. He went from a top 5 player in the league to a centre who refused to buy in to the new era, then to a great backup centre in his final years
Howard never forgotten my fav center the prime Howard hits different
Prime Dwight was so sick! Unfortunately his childish mentality couldn't help his game reach another level
cannot forget about 2019-20. He seemed like he was at his prime for a role model.
What a ridiculous statement. Do you know him personally? The man lead his team to the NBA Finals in his 5th year.
@@KumGuzz69 Go do some research about Dwight you goof.
I like players with this mentality. Don’t like players with kobum mentality
He was a valuable part of the 2020 Lakers. Great defense on yokic and bam Plus he scored some points on extremely efficient numbers.
He should be a TOP 75 Player instead of Anthony Davis or Damian Lillard
Davis should be in but I’d put him in over lillard
Dwight was just a guy who didn't really like basketball but was given one of the best physical build for basketball.
It's enough to get him to the all star level but not enough to get him to the superstar level.
Thank god he got a ring
A Mickey Mouse bubble ring not a real one
@@t3jf whatever nigga 😂I'll take it🤷🏾♂️
@@jalen3590 Pretty desperate if you're counting that 😆 🤣 😂
@@t3jfcall it what you want 🤷🏾♂️😂
@@jalen3590yes might as well call it a cock ring because it doesn't have any other value.
Yall can have that ring
Should've been on that top 75 list
His “block’s… are kinda mean..
How matter of fact the narrator says "Shaq got old and fat" almost made me spit out my water.
Dumbest take I’ve read
Great channel
If his teammates weren’t “ball hogs” he would be better of a all - star
2:50 "Shaq got old and fat" if you take that out of context its so funny
Dwight's Problem was he never really established a mid-range and 3pt shot and the free throw game he was always working on his muscle gaining
What? One of the last dominating big men centers under the rim of the 2000s needed a mid range game and a 3-point shot? He definitely needed to work his free throw game but in what world in the rise of the 3-point shot with Point and shooting guards would a Center pull away from covering the basket?
Guy didn't need a three point shot or a mid range Game. He was the most dominate center during his prime. BRING BACK REAL BIG MEN!
Dwight played Bron at the same age in the eastern conference finals and beat him. That's a crazy accomplishment in its own.
He was lucky, when he reached his prime there were very few good centers in the league. 90% athleticism 10% skills. In 90s only way for him to participate in all-star wekeend was dunk contest...
Sounds like Shaq right?
Lmao. No
@@K1ngHardaway nahh, shaq played against ewing, robinson, olajuwon, mourning, duncan, garnett etc
@@kapengbarako4523 Ewing,Robinson and Hakeem were on the way out. Garnett isn't a true center so that just leaves Duncan and a select few. So my point still stands that there were very few GOOD centers during Shaq's prime just like with Dwight.
@@K1ngHardaway that's not true at all, shaq was drafted 1992, hakeem won his chip in 94 and 95, so yeah shaq played with competition until maybe 2000
Tracy McGrady when asked if he feels like he was snubbed from the top 75:
“I’m in the hall of fame bro”
In a few years when Dwight becomes a hall of famer and has that HOF jacket, that dumb list won’t mean anything
i just realized Shaq and Dwight have identical Careers (In the beginning) both were skinny guys being drafted onto the Orlando magic who weren't having success then they both started getting bigger and get to the finals for Orlando where they lose then both moved to the Lakers to play with Kobe and try to win a ring and that when they go different ways
Shaq got a ring with kobe and also the heat Dwight was honestly lucky the whole bubble thing happened
people that say he should not be in the hall of fame are obviously not real fans of the NBA, and when he won a ring, he should be first ballot hall of fame
What blows my mind is that we are sitting here making fun of him and everything and questioning him if he's gay or not like that really matters yet when these weirdos who have 18 different color in their hair and they identify as a helicopter we're giving them sympathy and compassion
W comment ngl
No one cares if he’s gay, the issue is if he was assaulting people.
Bruh
Whether or not he’s gay is not even sort of the problem…
"100 best players of all time." I can agree with that statement. Not 75, when celebrating the diamond anniversary of the NBA.
Not top 75?
Seriously? Dwight for Lillard. Dwight's best 5 years are better than Lillards whole career.
@@xavierforsyth7350 There's a few I could definitely think of to trade out for Dwight given his overall impact on the league and game itself. Dame though I know is overrated, I think has had a surprisingly large impact on it himself, though more in one way than Dwight's 4 or 5 major impacts. I'd have to sit down and properly overview the list before listing those players I'd swap out for Dwight.
@@TheCriminalViolin Fair enough.
I'm better than Dwight Howard.

nah
Say what u want about my boy. He spent the 1st 17 years of his life in a 5 mile radius. Came to the nba young and soon became the best C in the league until embiid and joker finally showed up a few years ago. He carried franchises on his back and the only thing he should regret is wasting his time in houston when he did so much there and gets no love for it. He's made every stop he's been a contending team and although he has his limitations, he's had a great career and its sad how he's viewed in history cuz he was dominant. Worked on his game and could do it all. I cheered for him every step of the way and was mad my knicks didn't take him over noah some years back but Phil screwing my knicks is a whole other story.
One of the 75 best players of All Time... Easily the biggest snub...
Dude will always be one of the best to do it
Glad he returned to LA and got that ring
Fast forward, Taiwan is dominating with Dwight (But dude was a beast a while back).
as Lakers fan, he's always my favoritve big man, I've been constantly trading for him back in NBA Live and NBA 2K since his rookie year
He could've been top 5 center of all time, if he wasn't childish.
Dwight Howard back in magic was a built different
Nice vid, idk why he is not here in NBA 75 best players in all time
