So cool you got to go there before it closed. I have such a great memory visiting this Island in 1980! I wish they didn't have to close it up! Thanks for posting!
It’s been a dream of mine for almost 5 years and I’ve finally convinced my dad to ask Disney to go exploring around it’s abandoned discovery island (wish me luck). I’ve been so interested by this for so long, it’s great to actually see it in its true form without it being abandoned, really shows the magic there before it all was closed. Thank you for uploading :)
I first visited Discovery Island at Walt Disney World in 1988 it was fyn seeing all of those birds, reptiles, and mammals. The deer was my favorite animal at Discovery Island.
Hey there! Would I be able to feature some clips from this overview of Discovery Island in an upcoming Top 10 video on my channel?? With on-screen credit of course. Let me know :D
@@dustinvu7974 I have pictures of them filming that at Fort Wildreness when I stayed there for my 16th birthday! My friend and I sat on the grass and watched them film a scene of characters getting off a bus next to the Meadow Trading Post.
I tried to reply to your last comment and I hit "delete", sorry. There wasn't an "undo" option. Yes, I was glad I made that choice. It's amazing that stuff is still in there. They finally removed all the River Country stuff a few years ago. I went there lots of times.
I didn't know of discovery island until I saw a fnaf fan game called five nights at treasure island it's basically five nights at Freddy's but with disney Mascotts trying to unalive you lol 😂
So this is a bit of an odd request but I make analog horror videos and wanted to know if I could use some of this footage in an upcoming project. I’ll give full credit and links to your channel

Yeah, I wasn’t interested in going, but since it was closing I figured it’s now or never. I liked it!

You’re welcome! It’s fun to rent a pontoon or water mouse boat (which they are not renting right now) and drive around the island. Good memories.
@@ShareaDreamComeTrue thanks for the advice! Currently at Disney this might be on a to do list or ask staff to see if they will rent it to us :)

That is so cool! My only time was on the last day since it was “now or never”.
Wow…the last day. Amazing
I had never went before, so I knew I must go out to see it.
never heard of discovery island until few weeks ago :0 but super interesting and thanks so much for your upload!
You’re welcome! Pretty interesting place, but not really necessary when Animal Kingdom opened.

I’m cool with that! Thanks.
Rest in Peace,Disney's Discover Island at Walt Disney World. You won’t be forgotten.🥺😰🇺🇸🪦💔🙏
It's nice seeing it from the boats when I travel to the campground. Some parts still remain.
@@ShareaDreamComeTrue Yeah, that reminds me the scene from Disney's Sing Along Songs Campout at Walt Disney World Fun Musical Adventures 1996 VHS.😉

thank you so much for posting this, i really wonder how it looks like back then 🤍
You’re welcome! I’m glad I went right before it closed. I had a free ticket for about a year. I said “It’s now or never.”
And now you understand that the island has long been abandoned.
I never got the chance to go to Discovery Island, so I enjoyed watching :-)
It was a quick fun trip.
It really was so beautiful there ❤
I wish they would open it back up 💯💯🤩🤩👍wow
@@ChrisTodd-420 Same!
Very mesmerizing 💯
This is another place I never went to but I can’t tell you why? Many thanks to the great throwback.
I didn't have a real desire to go here, but it was the last day so I was in a "now or never" dilemma.

@@ShareaDreamComeTrue man it’s kind of unfair that this wasn’t active because I was born in 2001 :( 😢😢😢 what was Disney land like in the 90s??
looks fun. wish it wasn't abandoned.
I know!
Hi! Is it okay if I use a tiny clip of this for my Disney vlog if I credit you?
@@jessiesworld27 Yes, no problem. Thanks. 😁
@@ShareaDreamComeTrue thank you! Love the video!!
Screw humanity for taking this godly gem away from us.
Yes
Does Disney still own this island, or is it owned by someone else now?
Disney still owns it
