You actually can make the game run half a second into the future. If you run your DS games through a retroarch core, you can enable the runahead feature which is specifically made to reduce emulator-induced lag
@Joan Manuel Duran it might not help though, because it does use more CPU so it might not actually be streamable. Plus he actually has to set up retroarch which can be a pain.
I tried it, it's pretty bad. Anytime I did anything it lagged. I'd instead recommend just turning down the audio delay a tad. Way less cpu intensive and works just as well
I'm still hoping one of the overtures is Let The Bodies Built to Scale. Also, the chorus kids have the same energy as Jerma avoiding a copyright strike. AA EE OO
Fun fact: I'm pretty sure the ambient noises they used at 8:24 are the exact same ones you hear in the courtyard of peaches castle in mario 64 ds minus the birds chirping
FINALLY THE MOST BASED RHYTHM HEAVEN GAME IS HERE! The fruit decides to play just a masterpiece at 3:12, and honestly I am too happy to make a long and detailed comment. Hope everyone has a great day!
the glee club practice IS different from the timing in the actual game if you still care, thankfully in Megamix they added a cue where the conductor tells you to shut up to make it clearer when to stop singing
heck yeah, I'm glad this is a series Gray fruit is enjoying because I fondly remember Rhythm heaven being one of my first experience on youtube and the internet in general, so I'm glad it's still around today
I remember discovering rhythm heaven (specifically fever) in the year 2014/2016 through tf2 edits and a gameplay video of ringside uploaded by “FireHazardHobo”.. And funnily enough, I found tf2 through rhythm heaven edits at the same time/year.
This game's ratings are... weird... to say the least. Sometimes barelies are hits and sometimes they're misses. I believe Fever counts all barelies as misses, and I know for a fact Megamix does.
The rating system in DS is very strict even missing once in some of the games will guarantee you a 'just ok' rating. Like in the first game built to scale, if you miss the last note your getting an OK
I’ve been looking forward to this one! This is the game that got me into rhythm heaven, and rhythm games in general. I’m glad Fever gets a lot of recognition, but this game will always have my heart ❤️
this was the first one i caught live and unfortunately it ended in a very sad way. I hope he does manage to be able to play the game on stream properly
I love this game. I grew up with it, so it was pretty much one of the key things that defined my childhood. However, I will just go on ahead and say that I do not like the first four levels (being Built to Scale - Fan Club). Built to Scale was alright, I guess? There was one time where I got it nearly perfectly (I think I missed, like, two) and got an OK and I was a bit salty about that, but the rest? Nah, hated 'em. I was pretty young (~10-12 I think?), but I had a sense of rhythm, and a pretty good one at that. I used to play quite a bit of Guitar Hero before actually getting Rhythm Heaven for the DS and Elite Beat Agents. However, the game felt pretty demanding on my first play, so I didn't touch it often. That was, until I figured "meh, might as well" like a year later. Glee Club was the bane of my existence. Once I barely scrapped by on Built to Scale, I got stuck on this one for like 2 weeks. I eventually had to get my sister to help me on both this AND Fillbots, but more on the latter later. My sister just started Middle School Band, so she was a big help on these. Glee Club was pretty much the only one I had pointers on instead of actual help, so it made me feel a bit more satisfied. It took me around 4 tries total. Fillbots, though? MAN did I hate Fillbots. I had the first part down to a science, but the moment it went off beat I was ruined. It caught me so off-guard at one point I literally just stopped putting inputs in because I knew I wasn't gonna pass it. Even my sister, who ended up Superb-ing it literally 3 tries after mine, said "yeah this sucks lmao". Fan Club wasn't too bad as well, I guess? It was just really demanding. After the adventure that was Glee Club Superb attempts, my hand was beginning to cramp. I figured it would be fine for, like, one more game and then to just leave it for the next day. What I got, though, were a bunch of monkeys glaring into my soul as the world's cheesiest song mocked me. Aka, Fan Club. I couldn't really process much about what was going on because the speakers in my DS were beginning to break and I didn't have a pair of headphones on hand, so I left it for later hoping that I'd be better. Big surprise: _I was not better. I just sucked._ I ended up getting it 20-something attempts later and Superb'd it after Remix 4. However, my mind was so numb after Glee Club and Fillbots that I just said "fuck it" and moved on. Out of all 4 games, though, this is probably the worst beginner stages. Tengoku (or Silver, if you didn't have a GBA from Japan, aka what both grayfruit and I did) had some wacky ones that could easily trip you up, and they're very confusing, but the timing can be lenient. Fever got you into a groove with some pretty easy games. Megamix, I haven't personally played, but from what I heard it was pretty easy as well. This, though, has a mix of precise hand movements with an even more precise timing. It also doesn't help that there's very little reaction from the surroundings on whether or not you did alright or not.
@@honkstheclown8631 for some reason this made me think super hard if there was an actual way for the ds to know. but then i realized the ds settings, while storing your birthday and favorite color, does not record your gender, and of course rhds does not ask before choosing your label. so yes. exploded ds.
This might be a really dumb question, but does anybody know the "stream will begin shortly" font is? Is it a stock OBS font or something in particular?
I know this is too late but on the shoot em up, the delay on the practice is just the failure sounds. If it's weird playing using tablet, use the mouse click instead. No flick in that mini game
I think this game has a weird thing where certain beats in some games are worth more points and some of them instantly ruin your superb, it's really fucked up. Megamix kinda twisted that around and instead of punishing for specific actions, it rewards you for specific points with beat stars
I feel like if Rhythm Heaven DS had a percentage score meter like Megamix does, it would basically be 0-59 as Try Again..., 60-89 as OK, and 90-100 as Superb. That is just how _genuinely brutal_ the rating system for this entry is. Also for some games they forgive barelies on Perfect runs but not for Superbs, so games like Lockstep are retroactively _easier_ to get a Perfect on than a Superb, which is insane.
He must play the Japanese version of all the RH games cause the soundtracks like: Fan Club (JP: Kou Iu No Ga Koi Na No) The Dazzles (JP: Koi No Rung-Rung Paradise) Karate Man (JP: Rainy~Ame ni Utarete) Frog Hop (don't remember the title in Japanese) The songs are the best in Japanese... The first three songs had a real-life performance Listen to these songs, worth listening...
As a lefty who played probably hundreds of hours of this game, it was a mental flashbang to see the screens oriented for a righty.
It's disorienting, almost. My brain still can't adjust to it haha.
"Mental flashbang" should be used way more often
Same.
(I get the game reaction when I try to play guitar or look at someone playing/when I try play guitar right handed.)
This is me but for left handed mode I can't watch any footage in left handed mode it's too cursed

The monkey Akuma combined with the beautiful 3rd strike ost. This is gonna a good Vod aint it boys
53:50 killed me I was not prepared for what the fruit of grey said
I'm pretty sure the beginning of Glee Club doesn't count as a miss. When you're going for a perfect, it doesn't keep score until the music starts
The intro song goes super hard.
Also, I’d legit sell my soul to the rockers for Rhythm Heaven for Nintendo Switch.
"I filled that last guy too much"
Exactly what I needed on this sleepless Friday night. Thank you, Mr. Fruit.
