Thank you SO MUCH for this video. We bought these blinds and they were hard to pull apart and we thought we had untied them, but it felt like we were going to break them. Seeing your strings really helped us and now our blinds are up. Thank you for this level of detail that we couldn't find anywhere else!
Thanks. Really appreciate your comment. Someone recently said the video was over the top - but I’ve put up several of these blinds and every time I have an issue with the cords. It’s worth the effort though - the blinds are great once up.
I am about to purchase Blinds2go thermal blinds having seen them at a friends house and have been worried as to whether I am competent enough to fit them. Your tutorial has been a godsend (before I buy them) and I have decided to give it a go. I really believe that Blinds2 go should pay you some sort of commission for doing that tutorial because its spot on and I believe I would have 'wimped out' and got them from somewhere like Hillary's rather than trying myself. It's basically a confidence thing and I know after watching your video that I am capable of fitting them. Thanks again for taking the trouble to film it.
Just fitted 7 of these blinds this morning, and I agree blinds to go video is not very comprehensive and I had the same problem with the tangled strings ,but after the first blind I speeded the fitting process up ,shame I did not see your video before, well done for making this video
I used a credit card when inserting the brackets, as instructed, but found that the holes in the frame weren't lined up with the brackets! They'd drilled the holes too far along the frame! So I had to remove the brackets, which had been a real struggle to insert, and move them along about an inch. This made the whole job a lot more difficult, but I am pleased with the result. I think it's a brilliant system.
Thank you for posting this video! I had noticed the same issues with the tied blinds and additional bracket holes. I'm not the best at DIY and approach these with things with the upmost caution lest I waste all my money with a botched job and this was really helpful.
This video has helped me out so much! Buying my first ever blinds as I saw how awful the manufacturer's video was beforehand. This has been an absolute god send!
Thank you for putting up this video. It has helped us tremendously in putting up our perfect fit duoshade thermal blinds from Blinds2go. Totally agree with you that some instructions were missing from the manufacturer's instructions. One caution for others as the strings are easily tangled and knotted. We had a hard time getting them unknotted.
You forgot the absolutely vital bit, if you want to use the 'Mrs dining table, do it whilst she's out or use a tablecloth. I learned a whole new vocabulary using only four letters when I did as you.
Absolutely honest review and instructions. Have been toying with this idea for a few years now but always terrified of giving it a go until now. Thanks for making this video
Thanks for making this video. am about to buy these blinds but when you watch manufacturers videos online, they make it look so easy. I was watching you and thinking this isn't a walk in the park, you know. This is like building lego and fiddling around. there should be proper instructions and labelling of each individual pack is so important. I guess you need to have your thinking cap on. hmmmm! installing this in a big house and conservatory, one cannot afford to get the measurements wrong. I learned a lot from this video. many thanks
Thanks so much for this. Fit2go blinds video makes it look like a doddle but I’m so pleased I watched your video as I knew it wouldn’t be that simple. You helped me a lot, many thanks 🙏
Just bought one of these blinds as a test before we fit out the whole conservatory and used this video as a guide. You made it so easy and simple to fit, great video, this should be the official fitting video 😄🫱🏻🫲🏼
Hi. Yes! To give them their full title Blinds2Go call the blinds they supplied me “PerfectFIT DuoShade Graphite Thermal Blinds”. To keep it simple I have used the generic term ‘click fit’. I see that Blinds2Go also supply something they call a “ClickFIT” blind.
Hi, I’m about to order exactly what you have & was so interested in watching how you put them up! Can you tell me what the difference is between perfect fit, easy fit & click fit? I want these blinds for the bedroom & want complete black out but I’ve seen some videos of these type of blinds where they flap in the frame and let the light in? I’d be very grateful for any advice thanks!
Does the blind frame stick out from the door frame by much and how far past the end of the glass does it go? I've got bifolds with a centre rotating lock and I'm struggling to find blinds to fit a most seem to have quite a lip on them
Do you have any advice on how to adjust the tension? The instructions imply it’s super easy, but it’s impossible to tie a knot that close to the frame!
Thanks so much for the video! How did you undo that knot after all? I've just got 4 of these blinds, for a total of 8 knots I absolutely can't get undone. I'm at the point of returning these blinds just because folks in the factory decided to tie knots too tight! It's also so convenient that the blinds in their tutorial video have no cords at all - makes it all look so much easier than it actually is...
@@feclips How did I undo the knots? With difficulty is the answer. Just had to be patient and gently tease the knots apart with my finger nails. I cannot understand why the manufacturer persists with this method. Surely there’s a cheap, simple alternative.
This was really helpful but I'm still struggling getting the bracket under the seal. Even with fairy liquid ☹ our doors are new so I'm wondering if that's a reason. Anyone else having this problem?
Great video but my blinds won’t pull apart at all when trying to install. I untied the easy knots but not sure what else to do? Saw a comment about someone untying the knots at the bottom. I only have one knot at the bottom, 2 at the top, but the one at the bottom seems impossible to undo.
Please may I have some advice. I'm struggling if the bracket can squeeze into the rubber seal of my windows. I'm even trying gently with cutting knife but it seems that the seal is very tight to the beading. Should I just push it harder? Thank you
Great video. Thanks for sharing your install of these blinds. I'm looking at fitting some myself soon and so this was very useful. I just wanted you to know that you can see your card details at one point in the video. I'm not wanting to cause alarm, but I thought it best pointing it out in case you wanted to take the video down, edit that part out and upload again. It may not be an issue if people watching don't know your address, but better safe than sorry!
Great video though i had to watch several times to work out what was going on behind the blurred card. Tape over the card details would have been better 😂
Hi mate lovely job, would you recommend replacing the window seals if the current one's are wearing rough? Have you noticed any play in the seals since installing?
Replacing the seals would be a much bigger job, so if they are doing what they are intended to do I would leave well alone. You won’t see the seals when the blinds are fitted. I haven’t found any play in the seals in any of the 9 blinds of this type I have installed. Hope that helps!
Hi, i want to install these blinds but im not sure if its going to trap dirt. The material looks like fabric. I ll appreciate if anyone who has been using it could guide.
All I can say is that I have fitted these blinds to 6 windows of differing sizes in 2 different houses and none of the seals have been damaged or compromised at all.
I was hoping for a close up of one of the brackets in the door. Is it positioned on the glass side or on the further away tope of the seal? Brilliant video btw - thanks for sharing.
Hi, thanks for creating this video. Fills in many of the blanks in the manufacturers video. At 7:47 you mention the knot that's tight to the frame. I have the same situation except I had a knot on both sides. One came away when pulled, but the knot on the other side is so tight to the frame I'm having no luck getting it untied. I take it you did undo the knot shown there? Just want to check that you did untie that knot and it's not supposed to be left knotted?
Thanks very much for this video. I was stumped with that stupid little knot they tied in the cords to keep them together. The included instructions are really bad.
If the bracket is flush against the glass and pushed under the black seal then it should be trapped in place and secure. Sorry, but if it’s correctly installed I don’t understand why it’s loose.
@@sksdiy5874 the part you push it under seems to be alot loser than all the other windows, we've had them in for free years and it's like the door holiding window has become lose

Hi. No I’m pleased to say it hasn’t. We have been having to put up with some appalling weather recently, including high winds and driving rain but there’s no evidence that the seal has been compromised.
Hi. All I can say is that I’ve now installed 4 of these blinds and had no problem with the brackets scratching the glass. They are made of metal but have a coating on them and slid easily over the glass - especially with a few drops of washing up liquid. I can’t say it’s impossible to scratch the glass, only that I haven’t done so - and never had any concern that I might.
The distance the card is measuring is from the top or bottom edge of the window frame to the edge of the metal bracket that slides between the seal and the glass. If correctly placed in position the lug which protrudes from the bracket will engage with one of the holes in the frame of the blind. That will thus locate the blind’s frame in position.
