The best part about the Waterfall area? It has the calmest tracks and most serene areas in the game... and then it also houses Undyne and Mad Dummy... the two characters with the least amount of chill.

Here i thought the best part of Waterfall was Temmie Village

For some reason that little droplet kid asking you what stars are while this plays is really sad. Like, his line of questions are goofy, but when set to this music it really accentuates the fact that he's asking because he and his people have been trapped underground for WAY too long.
Man, music means a lot.

+Darlos9D Come to think of it for a moment. Well, of course the song is feely feels, but... Everyone around us, even kids, get to know what a star is, or have a notion, at the very least. But then... Someone is denied such a common knowledge, such a simple thing. How I felt at that moment is just how I feel towards people that are excluded from society. Not excluded literally, but... "Exception-alized". A sort of "in", but "out" at the same time (they don't get formal education, but any job needs that, etc). So yeah... It hurts.

@@Sobbinghorses Or lying to someone you respect, whether in a game or not. I HATE lying, and if I lie it is more one of ommition then anything. I would absolutely lie to protect a loved one, but not to them. I don't lie and say I did that project I skipped. Instead I worked hard go keep my B in that class, succeeded, and eventually in the Summer told my father when he asked me about it. Sure, I made a mistake. However, I never covered it up. I WANTED to do the project to get it over with. However, I never did the project since of procrastination and shyness. I was afraid to ask my dad about getting supplies for my project. I never did the project, yet still kept good grades and didn't lie when asked about the project. Yes, he was disappointed. However, if I lied to him, I would feel the guilt for eternity. I never had tolerated lying. However, I would do it to protect someone.

Waterfall, an area of meditation and reflection. As the xylophone resonates with the guitar strums, you feel the need to find a quiet spot, secluded from the rest of the world. When you find it, you start meditating, thinking about what you shall do to help, to convince Undyne that you won't hurt her or anyone else. The ambient light and sound of water flowing relaxes you. It fills you with peaceful determination.
After almost 6 years of waiting, this song is now considered as nostalgic.

In my opinion Undertale has some of the best video game music of all time
Other songs in the game really only make me think of the fandom but this track and Waterfall really give me a feeling that I'm right back in my first play through again. I left my game open while doing other things and listened to Waterfall for so long. It just has a really good feeling to it. It makes everything feel more like a game than just some putty the fandom is molding. I love the fandom but sometimes I just gotta sit back and enjoy the game itself.
I used to think the fandom was good before well, "things" happened.. Just looking at the game, it's absolutely amazing.. Undertale is now sadly becoming the new "FNaF."

I am at a moment in life where this song is so fitting for me. I had this really good friend on Xbox, and one day he told me he was moving. That was over two years ago. I haven't heard from him since. I miss him so badly. It makes me lonely whenever I think about it. And I'm the type of person who usually doesn't cry much, but I can't help myself when I think about this. I told a counselor one time, I even have told my parents, but to no avail. I've looked up his profile everywhere. I just can't find him. We were so close that he changed his name to "swagcat138" after me. If anyone has heard of him, please, please, please tell me how I can find him, and if he is doing okay. Now if you will excuse me, I will continue to mourn over my loss.
I know most people think of it as tranquil, but I finder kind of depressing. Am I wrong for that? Because here I am, questioning my own consciousness. If any of you think this is a joke, it isn't. I totally understand how you feel. I know what it feels like to lose someone you really like/love. I once had two cats named Rocky and Sweetie. Rocky was a male and Sweetie was a female. Rocky was like those tabby cats that look kinda like tigers without black stripes if I should put it that way. And Sweetie was all black with a poofy tail. You don't even know how loving and caring they were to me... Rocky was very sweet and he was very lazy, but I didn't really care. He would let me do almost anything to him, no matter they way I petted him. He was also very adventurous. Everyday, he would go outside our backyard and go out, and would always come back either for food or attention. And Sweetie was also very sweet too. She doesn't let me pet her the way I do to Rocky. But she still did let me pet her everyday. Sweetie loved, and I mean LOVED tuna. Everytime we open a can of tuna, she would just come running to the kitchen and start meowing and whining. We would still give her leftover tuna though. Sweetie was a very nice cat and I loved her as much as I loved Rocky. Until one day, we found out Rocky rarely ever got up to go do something, and Sweetie kept sitting away from Rocky. We had no idea why until we found out Rocky had bad breath, toxic fur, and just didn't feel good. Until we found out that he was extremely ill. So a few months later, we did the right thing, and putted Rocky down. And then about ( I think ) a few months later, Sweetie soon grew old and suffered from blindness. She wasn't aloud to go outside. And she also had a habit ( warning very unnecessary commenting ) of pooping and peeing around the house. She's been doing it for many months. Until, we decided to take her down as well. It was very sad for me, because I had to go on the ride this time to take Sweetie to the animal vet. I cried when I said my very last goodbyes to her...now today I have only this one pet betta fish I named Darwin. He is a halfmoon double tail and is still alive today. We adopted Darwin at Petco. Every morning I'm the one to feed Darwin. And every time I look at Darwin... he reminds me of my cats. And this song is the reason its my most favorite song in Undertale, because it reminds me of a time of having to let things go. And it also reminds me of my cats...
I know exactly what you mean. I have two cats as of now, but I used to have two others. They were female and male. Their names were Carlton and Hannah. Carlton was an orange tabby, while Hannah was a brown tabby. Carlton wasn't the type of cat to give affection, he just ran away when people tried giving him love. (No, I don't mean run away from home) I was very little at the time, but one day Carlton ran away. He was missing for three weeks. We had also just moved out of our apartment that year. We went back to that apartment to find him there. I was so young and stupid, that I never paid attention to Carlton. I guess you could say I was too small to understand. He was only 13 years old. Or was it 14? I can't remember.He had developed a tumor in his mouth. He wasn't eating at all. This was when I was in fourth grade, and I grew to love my cats and give them all the love they deserved. My dad took him to the vet, we weren't worried or anything, we just thought it was a stomach bug or something. But, when I came back from school my parents told us about the tumor he had developed. I was so sad. He was already put down, ready to be buried. Every night I would just pray to God and hope that Carlton was doing well, wherever he was. That eventually came to an end, and I became my normal self. It was two years later, that was when Hannah died. She was old, and couldn't control her bladder. So one day I came home from school and she wasn't doing so well, she wouldn't move from her bed. My dad and I waited for the time to pass. I went to sleep knowing that she was dying. In the morning, she had passed. I was sad, yes, but it didn't hurt as much as it did with Carlton. I suppose I was just prepared for what was coming. I also carried guilt with me after Carlton died. I never spent time with him, because he wouldn't let me. I made myself think it was my fault. But it's okay. This song is very helpful with moving on. It's okay, I'm okay, you're all okay. It'll get better. Time is the best bandage there is. It just tales time.

It's... sort of a hopeless song. It's a version of 'battle against a true hero', as Waterfall, but it's an expression of Undyne's feels for her people, see? Trapped underground, with no hope or future. At least, thats my take on it.

Hm... This is a slower version of "Don't Give Up", isn't it? With different instruments, of course, but if you put it at 2x speed you can really hear the similarities.

I can’t listen to this song without breaking down in tears tbh. It reminds me too much of my past. The calming song soothes the mind, not the heart.
To add to this, the way the rain spatters on the ground in waterfall is the ding sound in the song, the dripping water represents time without love, family, happiness. Because your stuck under a mountain.

This has to be one of the most serene and quiet songs in the soundtrack. Set in Waterfall, an already dark and almost empty area... It's really beautiful when you think about the surroundings you're hearing it in, isn't it?

Even though its only been a year since I played this game, songs like these from the soundtrack can make me feel nostalgic about it, especially Ruins and Waterfall.
Everytime I go on a vacation or even stay in a hotel for more than 2 days, the night before leaving i always listen to this and think about what's happened the past few days.

After a nice stroll around waterfall I’d like to look in sans telescope, call papyrus and see if he says anything funny, get lifted by a bird, buy some nice cream, shop at gersons and hang out with undyne and napstablook.

I listen to this very often when I feel melancholic or thinking about my life choices and how I got here, the mistakes I’ve made, the times I got hurt, the times I hurt myself, this theme is sad yet calming for me it relaxes me and lets me open my mind it helps me think straight and analyze decisions I’ve made and weather or not were they a mistake it’s overall calming
