I used to watch legandaray on yt and he was loving this deck, he wasn't a pro with it but it was still beautiful, one time he says aaron was the best player of this deck and he did have also a yt channel, it was like seing art for my low level. Really true fascination. Now i got the top 10k level with this deck, unfortunatly the ones that introduce me to the deck aren't on the game anymore. 😅 We really are alone now. No teacher. Are you in the Mortar cycle clan? If you aren't it's a clan in which we all play mortar cycle decks like the name implies and I think Aaron is even in the clan.
As a mortar vet I would say mortar first play can often leave u in shambles. Also, u should try a mortar-miner variant, super fun to play

In terms of first play, Mortar first play is not as bad and sometimes worth the risk with this particular deck. I always thought that Mortar is similar to Goblin Drill in the sense that it’s a 4 elixir win condition that works well in both fast cycle decks and heavier control decks(they both also can be used as defensive buildings in the worst situations).
With Cycle, you can easily go though your deck back to that card, this deck is abundant with small 1-3 elixir cards and a 4 elixir win condition, so long as you don’t waste your Rocket like an idiot, you don’t have to worry too much.
However in Heavy Control, you have to save your win condition for either defence when it’s appropriate or when you’ve got a solid counter-push. If you play too aggressive, you won’t get the damage you need and you’ll be low on elixir.
Because my decks use the mortar as a secondary, I avoid spamming it because the opponent’s defence could accumulate into a powerful counter-push. I only use it when I know that the opponent is low on elixir, which is the appropriate time to ‘lone Mortar to cycle to your Evo, and then you can use it for a counter-push or as a powerful swarm killer for your primary.
Mortar, like Goblin Drill, is very special to me due to its utility as a win condition, and how well it works in a variety of different decks, and even create its own decks.
I know you may not be a fan of Goblin Drill, but I want to see a RUclipsr who can create a list of Goblin Drill decks that all play different. It gives me ideas and teaches me new things without getting too out of my comfort zone.

Benny you have to try this insane deck. It counters the whole meta right now. Egiant , mortar (evo) , valkyrie (evo) , guards , lightning, log , tornado, inferno dragon.

just reached spell valley. ive been really interested in trying to learn how to play with the morter as its the first siege wincon in the ladder. i dont have access to rocket or nado yet. so i was wondering if maybe fireball/arrows/barb barrel will be ok? i get that log is best cause its able to give chip but i just dnt have that yet. maybe a bomber will be ok till i can get barb barrel. i do have E spirit too... just really not sure what to sub. i know ill be fighing a lot of Giants, witches and skarmy's so i really think valk would be good. if you or any of your subs could give suggestions id really appreciate it.

ayo i was looking for mortar cycle deck videos for like the entire day yesterday ever since aaroncr deleted his channel and this pops up
btw it is super op to activate king early and tornado can fully counter royal ghost and activate king back there in match #2 when you had that awkward cycle

@@BennyRoyale no but the ice spirit center kiting knight and then king activation against graveyard was so good lol and also the tornado for lock those were both veteran tornado plays so its mostly just remembering troops better
its pretty much royal ghost, lumberjack, mini Pekka, goblin brawler that are the light melee troops that you can always activate king with and its always super nice 👍
How to win against lava
Definitely a harder matchup, but you have to try to get some rocket / rocket tornado plays down for every balloon!
