  • Dugo Selo is a small town just 25 minutes by regular train from Zagreb, where the city meets nature. It is also a town proud of its traditions and heritage, and the very best time to visit is the annual Stara Jela z Dugo Sela gourmet festival every September.
Now in its 12th year, the festival brings together the finest food producers of the local and wider region, showcasing their products and dishes to more than 10,000 visitors.
It was my first visit last week, and what a show! From the best peka in Bosnia (so they said), and carp on sticks from Baranja, to Ukrainian borscht and a fabulous local mushroom goulash, a fun day out for all the family, with some outstanding food and entertainment, as well as the chance to buy high quality local produce from small producers all over the country.

British and Australian food is terrible......I have lived in both countries . Always remember my grandmothers great efforts to prepare a special meal every time she cooked .
Croatian food is magical because of the ingredients .....pure and full of flavour.
    I 💌CROATIA .

Dont listen to the bosnians, teletina ispod peke is not from Dugo Selo, they are not even from Dugo Selo. In Croatia is burek sa sirom, in Bosnia is pita sa sirom
