Moi university students went on rampage to protest over the closure of the law department

  • Traffic along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway was paralyzed after moi university law students from Annex campus went on a rampage to protest over the indefinite closure of the law department of the university. Live bullets were fired in the air and tear gas canisters thrown to the students who in return threw stones to the police officers. In the process student representatives were arrested while those who had taken refuge in the hostels were forced out and arrested. At least 70 students were arrested and detained at Kiambaa police post in Eldoret to be arraigned in court.
