I didn't even know Punk Rock Holiday existed in my country, lol. It looks amazing! I wanted to buy tickets this year, but they are already sold out. :/ Hopefully I'll have more luck next year :)
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
What is the intro song that you guys used on so many of your videos? ...you know the one I'm talking about. It's just like a second clip. Sounds like Adhesive but it's not. I can never find it in the comments. But yeah, what band / song is it? Sounds rad!
It's from a Slovenian band called Pigs Parlament, the name of the song is Failed Organization :)
There should be more Monster Energy advertising. Please. More. Thank you.
Epic edit 😍👌🏼 I went to a PRH festival a few years ago and it was incredible. I heard 2 sick songs that mentioned ‘Punk Rock Holiday’ in the lyrics, can anyone tell me the song names please 🙏🏼
It's actually mentioned in 3 different songs and those are:
The Cool Trick - Punk Rock Holiday
Teresa Banks - Make Antti Dance
Chaser - The Show
😄
@@JzaCrew YES!!! 3 new tunes to get me stoked - thanks!
Do u have to be 18 to join? If you arent do you need parents with you or does and adult count? How is it with that...
Anyone else noticed that the video only shows male persons speaking up until 25:10? And then the only single female person that is shown in the video talks about how great PRH is for her kids and families? I am at least confused...
I know there have been significantly more male bands on the past PRH line-ups (which is a problem itself imo), but producing a video that is almost 100% male dominated seems like history is told very one-sided and exclusive...
Yes. We noticed. It was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the preview. There's room for improvement in the next decade ;)
@@PunkRockHoliday , thanks for your reply. So I wonder how this could happen in this video in the first place? Any why you think that equal representation of people is just a task for "the next decade" but not the latest today?
Besides equal representation, I am concerned about the gender roles you imply by letting the single woman in the video only talk about family & children...
You could have done it differently now, instead of "in the next decade", but yet you decided to produce a video now that actively manifests male dominance in society and PRH. Again, how could this happen?
@@Hogger381 what i can say it happened is because the video is focusing on interviews with bands that played a few times and have a lot to say about the festival. the interviews were happening onsite and were interfered by epidemic in 2020, when we had plans to do a lot more interviews. We are fully aware of the problem you are exposing and always try to invite female represented bands in the best way possible. But there are probably not even 10% of female represented bands in the global scene, so the % on a single festival can't be higher unless we would put quotes before quality. i don7t think that would solve the problem. I hope we can agree on that most of the members represented in interviews have a very strong opinion on the problem and often expose it and talk about it. And like I said before - noted and will do our best with our future editions.
@@PunkRockHoliday Thanks a lot for your explanations. I am still concerned how you talk about this "quotes vs. quality" discussion, apologies for the long comment in advance.
I believe you would agree that (alternative) music industry is strongly male dominated - in all areas (bands, labels, management, booking...). Generally, people tend to keep power to themselves or other people they identify with. So - if not reflecting oneself on this - power remains within a small group of people. For music industry, that means if nothing actively(!) happens, the situation will not change substantially.
Quotes are a tool in this context to make something activelly happen (altough admittedly not a very "sexy" one). But I don't think there is a way around it - also to protect yourselves as (as far as I can tell) primarily male festival organizers from above mentioned (subconscious) power mechanism. There is enough great female punk bands in the world to easily fill 10 PRHs a year. If you don't know many enough personally, I guess you can find people to ask.
Putting "quotes" contrary to "quality" is in two ways dangerous in my opinion. Firstly, it suggests that you generally let femals bands only play because there is some moral obligation to, while you actually think they are not "of good enough quality". (I don't think that's what you acutally believe, but it's where the "quotes vs. quality" discussion leads to in the end.) Secondly, as "quality" is subjective, it is again prone to above mentioned (subconscious) power mechanisms.
As a festival organizer, you have the power to actively change something. Just passively sitting there and waiting that the ratio of female bands in music industry goes up won't help at all. Instead, as you have the power but apparently don't want to use it, you make yourselves complicit in the current situation.
So reading your comments, to me it appears that 1. you are not aware of the role you have in emancipation of female bands in music industry and the responsibility that comes with it and 2. you actively work against emancipation by producing a video like this (even though it might not be on porpuse, but that's what's happening here in the end).
@@Hogger381 There is enough great female punk bands in the world to easily fill 10 PRHs a year. If you don't know many enough personally, I guess you can find people to ask. ->> PRH is fully dependent on touring bands and we always invite female bands if they are touring. If they are not touring, we can't cancel other touring bands and fly in (don't have a budget for that) female bands just so there would be more of them on the bill. In a way we ARE giving a priority to female bands as we wanna host as many as possible. I'm sorry you can't see that. I understand your point completely, but the problem is not that easy to solve. Like I said many times before. Noted and will try to be even more careful of that in the future. Thank you.
Dead Fish t-shirt.
Fuuuuuuck ❤️🤘
I love this documentary. But I'm wondering why only male guys comment PRH. From my perspective, I'd love some female feminist comments. From the perspective of my political group, flinta-insights would be nice.
Sorry, but this festival is a club vacation masked as a punk festival. Once a year your local bank lady as well as your average marketing agency douche will spike up their hair and go "craaaaazy". the line up is boring as hell and so i a big part of the visitors. it's nowhere near the best punk festival in europe. if you wanna go to decent punk festival you might wanna check out k town hardcore fest, static shock weekend, zxrx fest or good ol fluff fest.
go to sziget fesztival then, there you will know what is a shit festival
@@coryander4918 Been there ages ago. Spoiler: It sucked.
@@mozahl5905 i went there for the whole 7 days and left on day 2
