Can u do a video on how to dry out firewood before using to heat house in wood cook stove. My wood is very wet and I feel worried. I don't want a chimney fire.
I usually use one exclusively for a few months and then use another. I will say that the new Impact seems to be the best suited one for me. I have been using it exclusively for a while and certainly enjoy it. The flour is perfect for bread so I haven't had a need to use another one. I will say the Nutrimill Harvest is needed to make cracked grains though.
Mary, I love your videos and recipes and have used many of your recipes. I know how healthy freshly milled flour is and that you have been switching some of your sourdough recipes over to freshly milled flour. Since I don’t use freshly milled flour, can I continue using AP and just do 1:1 as you are doing for you swap? Thanks for your help.
@ some day I’ll get brave enough to use freshly milled flour. We only eat bread made with AP but I did by some spelt flour and organic sprouted whole wheat flour to practice with.
It might be a sandwich bread. What I remember about it was that it was very easy, easy less hands-on due to the mixer taking care of a lot of them extra needing.
@ I watched this one and I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’ll definitely have to give it a try, but I really like making the full loaf breads do you have a recipe that uses the nutrimill that makes the full loaf sourdough bread?
Whenever I bake bread in a dutch oven, the bread is burnt on the bottom. So then I have to scrape off or cut off all the black bottom. Yours didn't look burnt. I'm wondering why? I'm thinking I need a rack in the oven to keep it from touching the bottom of oven.
Good morning, I have used most of your videos for my sourdough. Your earlier videos I use are no stretch and fold. With freshly ground flour is stretch and fold a must?
No, you can knead them upfront until glossy and stretchy and it will be hands off after that. If I'm home, I enjoy doing stretch and folds but it's not necessary.
Either method works great. The big difference is I prefer using the mixer when I won't have time to do stretch and folds and want to develop the gluten quickly. If I am hanging around the kitchen I will do stretch and folds because I enjoy doing them, ha ha!
Good morning -Mary I have a question for you - my local grocery just started carrying sprouted eikorn, hard wheat and other wheat berries. I don't recall you saying anything about yours being sprouted. Is sprouted and nonsprouted the same? The sprouted in the store feels like a wheat berry throughthe bag. Thank you for your help.
So, sprouted wheat berries will have the nutrients more "bioavailable" meaning they may be more easily digested compared to non-sprouted berries. If you have them available, I would use them. That's awesome you have them available nearby!
Mary & Connie, I have a Nutrimill that I use for milling my wheat berries. I love it. The directions say DO NOT MILL sprouted grains. You may want to check with the manufacturer of your mill to see what they recommend.
I hope you can help me. I am making sour dough English muffins for the first time. The recipe has me mix the starter milk and flour. Then it says leave it for 2-24 hours. No where does it say refrigerate. What do I do? I am nervous not to because of the milk.
You can put it in the fridge to ferment. I would leave it in there overnight or up to 24 hours before proceeding with the recipe. It'll still work just fine.
Hi, Debby here from Wisconsin. I just sent the link to my husband for this grain mill. The price is right, but I see you use ear protection. Do you use ear protection for all your mills, or is there a mill more quite? Thank you.
I use my ear protection with all of them. I have very sensitive hearing and use them for all loud tasks, like vacuuming, using a blender, or even the food processor. I don't think they are necessary. I just can't stand loud noises very well. Most people don't use them from what I see.

Thank you Mary! 🥰 Love making sourdough with fresh milled flour! You are a joy to watch!!
I love your demeanor and your content, Mary. I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving and get a little bit of time for yourself.
Love all the little details you add for perfect bread. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
Thanks Mary!
Beautiful loaf!

Beautiful loaf of bread 😊
🌺good morning Mary, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Can you tell me if you use all 3 grain mills for different bread?
I usually use one exclusively for a few months and then use another. I will say that the new Impact seems to be the best suited one for me. I have been using it exclusively for a while and certainly enjoy it. The flour is perfect for bread so I haven't had a need to use another one. I looks amazing 😊

Yes, you can just sub the ap flour 1:1. Thank you so much!!

I used your code to get the impact. I'm still waiting for delivery because they sold out very early. Thanks.
You are going to love this mill! I love it more every time I use it!
Hi Mary,
can I use clear plastic shower caps instead to cover the dough? I have a big box of them!😅

Yes, I've done that many times!
Hey, were you able to find the video of the sourdough loaf recipe that you have that uses the nutrimill mixer?
It might be a sandwich bread. What I remember about it was that it was very easy, easy less hands-on due to the mixer taking care of a lot of them extra needing.
Was it this one? ruclips.net/video/J0JBFC_fCbQ/видео.html

Is there a link for the recipe?

Don’t you use the mixer? I just saw a video that you said you use the mixer to get a good gluten structure. So what do you recommend? Thank you!
