  • Gotta keep it stirred up until I can get it all the TLC it needs to get out on the trails. GoPro is mounted on the rollbar.

I just bought a YJ and feel undecided about it so far, love the new purple paint, wheels and sound system. The downside is I feel lucky to get to my destination, it's not the easiest to drive. I'm hoping I get used to it soon.
    Thanks for a great video!!!

Love it. My 2.5 87 YJ is running terribly, no idea why...unfortunately I don't know much about motors so there's not much I can do until I save the money to get it worked on. I've already tried running a whole tank full of Seafoam fuel system cleaner, also Seafoam in the oil pan, changed it right after. No difference... new air filter. Don't know what else to do. But it sputters and has no power at all. Constantly seems like it's going to die. :/

What's it like? my 2.5 runs pretty rough, especially at idle. I reckon it's a situation of it'll always run poorly but it'll always run. Yeah, new spark plugs are a good idea, I can't confirm but I'm sure some of my problems come from all the vacuum lines being in bad condition. The 2.5s are pretty easy to work on, I'd say change the sparkplugs and vacuum lines and see how it goes.
It's hard to imagine the 2.5 having even less power, that's a bummer I hope you're able to get it sorted simply and cheaply.

Check to see if it has a points distributor (Google points distributor if you don't know what it is) if it does you probably need to adjust the points, my 4.2 had points and they require adjustments every 3k, if not probably needs plugs, wires and or coil.

Do you daily drive your YJ?

I used to but it is currently sitting at my parents' house; I got a new clutch in it then ended up moving to a new city for work and don't really have the space for it. It's not a bad daily driver but it is awfully thirsty!
