G'day ladies and gents, Today we'll be taking a look at a couple of the new features in Heliborne's upcoming 0.45 patch. - New troop deployment mechanics. - New Mortar troops and scout helicopter target painting. - New AI Targeting Algorithms I hope you enjoy!
love this game and its in the best state its ever been hope the player base picks up the most recent kosvo map has both sides ai ground force attacking and capping bases plus the new features with the patch, such as ai aa guns aim being effected when under fire as well as affected by the helos speed and height. the new spotting mechanics, troop types etc this game is the best pvp helo game that captures the feel of the older sim/arcade helo games
flY_Sw4tteR_ Yeah. Maybe it'll finally put an end to the console pleb vs. PC elitest debates and maybe shift more towards the mouse and keyboard vs. controller side of gaming.
Gaijin has already made an attack helo game. Apache: Air Assault, It was crap. Knowing Gaijin FM's I would not want them to ever put helos in, AAS played worse at full release than Heliborne does now and Heliborne already has more advanced AI.
Lets hope then that Heliborn has/gets the resources it needs to complete a full and vibrant game. I really like it a lot so far, it's what I do when im salty with WT.
It’d be nice to add a command unit type, maybe like a 20 men transport hell. Then you could drop of the troops then go back to your team’s HQ. When you get there you can command and give the platoon of men you dropped orders and moving them. To make the less OP they’d be weak to vehicle but easily overpower infantry bases and good for hunting specialist units that have been deployed as they’ll use a heat seeking device. They would be useful because they could take back the bases that were infantry rushed by transports and help kill the specialist troops that were dropped to help you team. Feel free to leave some constructive criticism. 😀
They should really increase the points for attack helicopters, they are OP af... And talking about assaulting bases, you only need 1 AH-64D sortie to take out everything on the ground.
Scouts can control 6 mortars at once, If there are 6 Mortars available when a second scout enters the A.O. the mortar groups are divided between them. 2 groups of three, If a third scout enters it splits into three groups of two and so on. If there are more than 6 mortar troops on the ground the second scout will take control of the uncontrolled mortars plus the number required to make the number controlled even between the two scouts.
you can equip them in your loadout where you are able to change your weapons. Right under the weapons is a bar which has the caption "Soldiers" if you click on it you see all the troops available. But be carefull, each special troup costs you extra points.
EDIT: Yes I messed this up. but to be clear I honestly don't see the problem with the colours or why people complain. You can watch WoT videos with colourblind settings where the team are Blue and Green. I've seen War Thunder videos with players who have custom set there enemy colour to purple, No one complains. Heliborne is the only place I have seen people ever complain about team colours. Why? As long at the colour distinction between the enemy team and your own is clear why does it matter?
I'm pretty certain that the colours are relative; enemies are always blue and friendlies always orange. You were flying NATO and attacking blue bases. That's why the little HUD element beneath the minimap never changes. I would like it if it was faction based
Awesome feature, takes too much time to do anything with it. Game currently plays much faster and by the time it takes you to mortar a single post you can lose 2 of them.
The mortar troopers can take out the base from beyond both AA range and Manpad range and in conjunction with the new spotting mechanics even from beyond spotting range. Slower yes but unless you send a scout helo (and in the new patch specifically a scout helo) to find out who is attacking your team will never see who is killing there base. Also because Mortar troops can be pre-deployed a smart two man group will lay troops at several bases before attacking with the scout, As the scout moves to each new base he will take control of the new Mortar team. I tested this after I made this video, If the Mortar troops are placed correctly a single scout can clear the enemy teams main end base plus there three closest bases solo in under three minutes without ever coming into defensive firing range. This leaves all the other players on your team free to engage enemy helos with AA missiles, Plant manpads and otherwise hold of the enemy team.

Nice! Thanks for the Heliborne update Magz. Quite like this game but there're so few people on it.
9:30 HEAR THIS GAIJIN? THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!
well, instead of shouting at them, submit the idea.
Because Gaijin has a huge tradition of listening to the community's suggestions.
Thanks for the preview, I can never catch the official ones as they are always live streamed really early in the morning in NZ.
lots of teamwork ahead
Holy cow. Mortars and scouts. This is awsome
cow? indian scouts?

I was just wondering when we'd see some more heliborne content, thanks Magz!
PS ...still crossing fingers for Playstation adaptation.
With the advances being made to console platforms, I wouldn't be surprised if consoles could literally play any game PCs can.
the latest "update" batches are definitely pushing it along. essentially gaming PC s with a console OS

I really hope this game grows it is fun as hell. I'd love to see them add deploy-able howitzers for the big transport helos.
7:14 that seems to be the plan.
Gaijin should buy up that Studio and come out with an attack helo game; they could work the assets for tier 5 tanks in as a beginning

I wonder if they will add the MI-26,it is unarmed but is capable of airlifting very heavy objects and carrying a lot of infantry.

This is awsome!! :D
i cant get any servers to load up in heliborne
Hey magz what's the go with the second channel?
It's made and been made for some time but I haven't had time to get content on it
I'll explain in a rundown under in the next few days
+MagzTV ah great! a new RDU!
Great vid Magz. Quick question, if there are multiple scout helo's how will arty and mortars in the A.O. be divided between them?
Scouts can control 6 mortars at once, If there are 6 Mortars available when a second scout enters the A.O. the mortar groups are divided between them. 2 groups of three, If a third scout enters it splits into three groups of two and so on. If there are more than 6 mortar troops on the ground the second scout will take control of the uncontrolled mortars plus the number required to make the number controlled even between the two scouts.
Thanks for clearing that up.
how many people per team are on this type of matches?
I can't help but think of fucking Fire Birds whenever I look at this game.
"i am the greatest."
Ground forces have been assaulting autonomously for a while.
hi magz how to get that special troops before I deploy them
you can equip them in your loadout where you are able to change your weapons. Right under the weapons is a bar which has the caption "Soldiers" if you click on it you see all the troops available. But be carefull, each special troup costs you extra points.
does Heliborne have a progression system?
Yes, the more you progress, the more aircraft you have available along with upgrades and so-on.
No actually, we do not. Our progression system is in development. -Rayne JetCatGames
Damion Rayne thx for your answer!
will this game ever be free in the future
PS. This is game created in *Poland*
Not quite, Jetcat games is based in Lithuania.
For the love of god, can they please make friendlier blue and enemies orange/red!

same thought

@magz I'd agree with you if that was the case, but every video I've seen shows the enemy as blue, regardless of faction.
Ha, I can't explain it, it just feels so backwards. No other game bothers me like this.
