    How do I keep the meringues from getting sticky and soft after I place them on the cake? Thank you for the beautiful cake tutorial.

      I would make sure to use non-perishable fillings/icings so the cake can be left at room temperature (you won't want to refrigerate the meringues). Generally, I don't find there is enough moisture in American Buttercream to cause the meringues much ill effect, which is why I chose that variety for this cake. And only a bit of the meringue touches the buttercream anyway. As long as it is not super hot/humid the meringues should hold up just fine :) If you are concerned, you can decorate the cake, up to the ganache drips, and then just quickly add the meringues perform presenting, it hardly takes any time at all.
