I did not know that this existed, thank you for showing that it exists. Also I think that some of the things in these guidelines can be applied outside of developing for Apple's platform. I mostly do web development and there are alot of things here that could help me make my apps UI and UX better
When I started as a MacOS developer back in 2005, we had AHIGs (Aqua Human Interface Guidelines). It was much shorter (only MacOS existed back then) and more technical and specific. Therefore, it was much easier to follow. In most cases, a developer could make the right decision even without a UI/UX designer. Nowadays, HIGs are more generic. It describes the vision and principles rather than specific constraints. It gives you more freedom but makes it harder to follow, especially for the developer w/o UI/UX designing skills.
Thanks! My app had to take a back seat to the RUclips business for a bit. I still work on it here and there in the background. Once it starts generating decent revenue, I plan on bringing that back.
Hi Sean great video! Do you have any resources outside of Apple Human Interface Guidelines regarding large screen layouts for iPad? HIG doesn't explain well and there are no visuals to see what you can and cannot do with large screen layout on iPad.
It's on the back burner until Creator View starts to gain some traction (users and revenue). 2024 is a year where I need to re-boot my RUclips and course business, but Creator View is still chugging along in the background.
Shoutout to you for being one of the best ios dev creators!
I appreciate that :)

This is exactly why I made the video :). Glad I could put you on to the HIG
