Daiyousei: The Worst Character in Touhou Lost Word

- Touhou Lost Word has a lot of bad characters. Who is the worst one? If you couldn't already tell, I will argue on why Daiyousei is the worst character in the game while explaining what she actually does.
Daiyousei is a fairy who is designed to be a support, but she barely works as a support class character. It's kinda sad too, since somehow, Sunny Milk and Cirno are more useful than this little nugget. How. HOW?? How do you even mess up that hard? Oh well, we need to hope that Daiyousei can get a buff in the future, it will make Touhou Lost Word a better game.

The Only useful is All Metal Spellcards, which could full break bosses with ME weakness
The 2 Spellcards containing "Aid" while modern gen units hates it (does almost nothing), makes it Instant E-Tier

It's okay if Dai is one of the weakest character because age is best friends with the STRONGEST character.
Sunny Milk true GOD of Mobile gacha game
Sunny Milk defies the Gacha Gods luck she became one instead
Daiyouse is VERY situational, with a big amount of shield breaks, if you don't have enough metal breaks, daiyouse can be the alternative
Also for some reason, her Fantasy Rebirth 2.0 Buffs are turning her into a tank (as well as making her attacking Spell Card more powerful), with her Aid Spell Card now boosting Yang DEF, Yin DEF, CRIT DEF and CRIT Evasion by 2 Stages (50% chance for a 2nd stage) with her Aid Last Word further boosting the team's Evasion and Yin DEF with a new Post-ATK: Focus UP by 10 Stages for Dai, and own Yang DEF UP by 5 stages, so yeah, some extra stuff about Daiyousei's FR 2.0.
In my opinion, it's hard to tell who is the objective worst, even if it lies in the older units, but I suppose Daiyousei would be in contention for the worst. (Also, I think you may have gotten the part at 5:48 wrong about Rei'sen's Last Word.) But yeah, pretty cool video overall (except for the Sakuya bullying)
Daiyousei and Reisen are both of my favorite characters due to how out of place they are.
Daiyousei: can't fight well (but has 6 Metal breaks on one spell card x2), doesn't heal well, gives small buffs, BUT for whatever reason, her Fantasy Rebirth Last Word can gain Focus level 10 as an after effect (like wtf)
Reisen: supposedly a "Destroy" unit because she has killer on a bunch of her atks but she's mostly a support, but every buff she gives is a massive detrimental to herself, ex. Last Word decreasing her Yin and Yang def by 10 levels
Daiyousei’s rebirth last word is literally her saying “shoot me shoot me”

Funny considering that when E9 Remi EX came, my win condition was DAIYOUSEI due to her 6 metal breaks and me not having any other metal units that were good.

And the opposite is Phantasm tier Sunny Milk who, at rebirth, can hit the visible damage cap in 1 turn.
The only good thing about Daiyousei is how the Touhou LostWord tier list describes her LW. "If you're using Daiyousei's LW for any reason, something's gone terribly wrong." is probably the best line I've ever seen in a tier list.

So fun fact Dai after getting Rebirth, can get her spell card upgraded, one of only few units that got that treatment.
Yes, but I still think her skills needs to give a guaranteed stat-up rather than the 50% right now...
Secondly, what the hecc(atia) is her 25% heal skill at level 10, it should be 75% imo, she is the essence of nature after all, a Yousei!
In the original Touhou games, Daiyousei is actually an enemy with decent spell cards and IRL lore references in her appearances.
She needs a better portrayal as a nature fairy! Her basic attacks should have an Earth and a Water (bonus reference to Cirno) element as well!

E Tier - Daiyousei (suck to suck)
B Tier - Luna Child (fairy being bad)
A Tier - L1 Marisa (Older gens being bad)
A+ Tier - L1 Remilia (Overwhemlmed by NO Element, still older units being bad)
S Tier - L1 Sagume (irrevelent unit)
S+ Tier - Shion (Solo Last Word)
SS Tier - A6 Sunny Milk
EX Tier - B5 Reisen (Can endure Fatal Attacks, used for stalling and distraction) (was gonna put B3 Toyohime cuz usually outclassed by C3 Yukari and "Party Bind Seal Remove" are starting to get no longer unique)
B3 Azusa is actually the worst in ex tier as B5 reisen has the power of immortality and extreme damage while Azusa cooldowns are proving to be harsh in current farms to the point while immortality is well immortality never not good
Something I want to say, Hoax actually only boosts HER stats. It doesn't even help the team, so it's actually worse than Reimu's skill. And although Dai has the funny 6-metal card, which is completely unreliable without accuracy because it's one shot for the first 2 lines. At least Rei'sen gives both types of attack and defense to the party with her aid card.
The best thing she can do is in being there on the home screen for you

They are just trying to make her as powerful as she is in cannon
She used to have a defined niche back when the game was new, as he spell card was the only move on the game that had all elemental lines, with the added bonus of being all one element. But now a days, many more much better units get to have this once unique trait
The only time to use her now is a solo suicide run into the scarlet devil tower to soften up enemies’ barriers with metal metal weaknesses, before bringing in the actually useful units.
Just wait for Metal EX to come out and hopefully Dai will have time to shine. Saw her used in a comp, think it was Remilia EX? She is fairly weak, but she is not close to being my least used character.
Well in she's an unnamed character and in TH6 she's not even as strong as a fairy maid from the extra stage I call "Tom".
So if she was even halfway decent it would just be an unfaithful character representation lol

I’m a person who wasn’t played Touhou Lost Word. So I totally know how the game works in and out.
(I seriously feel like I’m the only Touhou fan who’s not interested in Touhou Lost Word)
Just came across a few days ago when searching on mobile for a touhou game
Her only redeeming factor is her 6 metal breaks. Which is why I slightly rate her higher than rei’sen, a destruction unit who is a better support than Daiyousei and would probably be better had she actually have any elemental breaks to use and didn’t debuff herself with lvl 10.
in the beginning she's actually low-mid tier, not any higher.
so, it still is a good beginner of a healer, if you need one for some reason.

never really thought about who could be the worst character in lw, but i can agree on dai, mainly because rebirth 2.0 didn't make her much better, even sunny milk and seiran became decent due to their power increase, but dai just... didn't get anything useful
Otohime has some rivals in terms of Healing now (C3 Yukari and E1 Koakuma) but shes still busted as heck,I agree with Daiyousei being the worse.
This video actually gives me a use for Daiyousei! Now that I know she's complete trash, I won't feel bad about using her with 100 Luck for purple grinding on stages with luck drops!

Actually, she's decent in original Touhou, she has IRL philosophical lore spell cards.

Her metal cards are what she’s mainly used for because she can break 6 of them when boosting fully.
Other than that, not much else to write home about.
Dai might be the worse,but here I am, 100+ player level, Im still using her because of her full metal break because its really useful since most of the enemies have metal traits so I think the weakest unit of this game is much useful than the weakest unit in other games. And most likely, unit with good metal breaks is hard to get because you need to wait for their banner or buy using money so overall, dai is really useful.

I have an idea for a good aid spellcard.
Granted I haven’t played lost word since December 2021 but my idea is this.
This Theoretical Aid spellcard/last word would increase the Yin damage and Yang damage of the party by 3 levels for the rest of the stage
The idea here is that while it won’t do damage it will make every other member of the party’s attacks pack more of a punch.
That or maybe just for the rest of the current battle if it lasting an entire stage is too Overpowered

But I Would Have Either the Buffs Be As Much as Daiyousei's Last Word if It's Going to Last For the Rest of the Stage.
Or Have It Like Rei'sen's Last Word ( And It's Numerous More Buffs Above Daiyousei's ) But Last A Single Wave Only.

Daiyousei is surprising good. She might not be the best, but she's carried me through a ton of battles.

When you think about Daiyousei is pretty much Rolf from Path Of Radiance. One of the worst units in the game,have a very happy,cute, and nice personality that distract you from their awful stats,having good speed but awful attack, and having a blue and green color scheme (Dai and Rolf are literally Surskit in human form),outclassed by a better unit (a per-promote sniper literally joins earlier than Rolf), and In fact I saw a image of a girl version of Rolf that literally looked like Daiyousei. pbs.twimg.com/media/B7yqIUZCQAAo5dH.jpg:small
