great premise, they totally blew it by not having Ty Tennant and Sebastion Croft who played these characters in DOOM PATROL reprise their roles; these two look lame and sound lame. And this is not about the girl. Gosh. This looks set to be another bomb from a great premise. And they are not from hell.
My friend, if that's the vibe you enjoy, I highly recommend you give doom patrol a watch. It's Morrison and not Gaiman for most of the show, but by season 4 they start adapting the run literally written by Gerard Way of MCR
@@charlesmento5968 Edwin was def in hell in the comics, he died and went to hell and was released when Morpheus and Lucifer let the souls out of hell in The Sandman; I will ABSOLUTELY miss Ty and Sebastian that’s such a tragedy the casting was lost in the shuffle and delay but I can’t wait to give this a chance; and as for crystal she is a main character and she is the audience stand in to get all the ghost stuff explained but I’m sure the boys will be the plot driver. Hope you give it a chance I’m so excited

Please give this a chance and give it a second series, it will grow. I keep seeing comments from people who won't watch it because they don't want to love something you will cancel. You can afford to give this a series 2, commit to this, nurture it as this has such huge potential to keep growing

@@z-beeblebrox yeah they used the cast sooo much for online promotion after the end of the second season with all the videos having really high engagement that they were even alluding to maybe making a Crows spin off, the series was on the top 10 for so long and then they just cancelled it lol
@@rociokagami3907 that’s wild. I think it’s safe to say Netflix has become early-2000s Fox. In fact they might be worse, because at least Fox could argue that they’re just one channel and don’t have the space for every good show they threw a season at, but Netflix is a destination with unlimited space and multiple demographics. There’s no excuse!

Neil gaiman is definitely one of the best modern authors with unique style,
He's my favorite author all around, although my single favorite book is Michael Ende's The Neverending Story (I always say that it and Peter S. Beagle's The Last Unicorn are the two books everyone should read at least once in their lifetime).

As soon as I saw her, I was sold. I'm wondering if we might see a darker side to her than the one we saw in Sandman.

Netflix, the show is stunning! It has so much potencial, just promote it little more and let them make the second season.
I know the numbers haven't been that great, but I'm still holding on to hope for a second season. I got surprisingly attached to these characters. Charles and Edwin are true ride-or-die partners T.T Plus I think there's a lot of potential to explore the character of Crystal more, since she spent most of the season without her memories.

It's literally releasing tomorrow, but Netflix is Not much promoting or giving any cast interviews, nobody knows this is coming, and then Netflix cancels after just one season because not enough people watched it,

I actually really enjoyed the series - the characters were great, the dialogue was fun but unique to each character (there are some series that tries to make everyone witty and sharp and it becomes so generic) and the way it was shot was amazing. I hope to god they make a season 2 because I need closure (and I have taken to playing it on repeat as background noise to help boost the viewership)

I know this isn’t really a Doom Patrol spin-off anymore, but since the showrunner is the same guy who wrote the episode that the Deadboy Detectives appeared in and the same actress is playing Night Nurse, I’m still counting it as one!

Actually the timing and release now makes me wonder if they cancelled Lockwood & Co (despite good numbers!) because Sandman was more successful, Neil Gaiman is a bigger name and they wanted to have a somewhat similar story out this year. The second seasons of Lockwood & Co would probably have been out in a few months, so maybe they cancelled it so it doesn't clash. Which is stupid, because the world building and premise of Lockwood & Co had so. much. promise. And the young actors were really good too.

And Lockwood got axed before me and my dad finished watching it, 4 days after release, when I was looking to see if a 2nd season was gonna happen :S

Ok Netflix, this series is pretty good and I hope you don't cancel it. While it hasn't had the unrealistic amount of views you'd expect for a supernatural show in its first few weeks, the numbers aren't bad either and it has remained in the Top 10 in many countries, the fandom is growing too and it can grow much more if you announce a Season 2. Also, being part of the Sandman universe has a lot more potential to explore.
And come on, if you were able to give 8 seasons to a show like Elite, you can perfectly give at least 2 seasons to a good supernatural show like Dead Boy Detectives. Don't let us down again.
Its actually a very great show. The acting is solid. Very unique. Catches you by surprise. This genre is not usually what i go for but i gave it a chance. Worth the watch. Recommend.

Well, this looks interesting. It's a shame that the guys who played Edwin and Charles in the "Doom Patrol" series won't return to their roles. There was a certain charm in their performance. Since Death from "Sandman" appeared in the trailer, it means these two shows will be connected. I was also pleased that the actress who played Rowena from "Supernatural" was featured in the trailer. I wish I could watch this series as soon as possible, maybe I’ll like it.

I knew I would enjoy this show, but the amount of love I have for the characters and story is almost whovian level. I am so glad I got to see this first season and I really hope they do at least a couple more seasons to really explore this larger expanded Sandman/Vertigo universe.

@@jayp4226I saw Neil’s “show” (?) at NJPAC where he answered questions and he basically confirmed he is writing a Neverwhere sequel with no promises but he is working on it and plans to go back to it after his current TV commitments

How am I a massive fan of Sandman and Doom Patrol and didn't know that this show had left development hell and hit streaming until I actively went looking for it today? The youtube algorithm and Netflix's marketing are both failing. I'll join the chorus of "please don't effing cancel this without giving it a chance, Netflix!"

After more than two years ,I loved a series. This is the kind of series I've been waiting for. Just loved it. The entire cast were lit. And the british accent I'm in love with that accent now.

A perfect series, incredible episodes, you can watch it several times without getting bored, I became a fan of Dead Boy Detectives and it deserves a second season, the series' focus is not romance but the love story behind it is beautiful, I want it see this in more depth..❤
I wish they kept the original cast from Doom Patrol but this still looks great and looks like a fun watch.

Man i really hope you can adapt more sandman universe comics like Death, The dreaming, books of magic, hellblazer or even Lucifer.
While the Lucifer show is a terrible adaptation, near zero actual resemblance to the excellent comics characters and stories from Gaiman and Mike Carey, I think it was a really fun show in itself. If only for the fantastic puns. I think Lucifer was ~Apotheosis~ of the "cop plus consultant" sub-genre of the police procedural. Imagine the pitch meeting:
Exec 1: Hasn't this been done, the sexy lady cop and sexy bad boy consultant thing? We've seen a million of them, and folks are tired of it.
Exec 2: Ah, but this time, the consultant is the Devil!
Exec 1: Like, a terrorist or serial killer or something?
Exec 2: No, the literal Devil, Lucifer Morningstar, the ruler of Hell.
Exec 1: I'm in.
"Sorry, I've got to take you to hell" is the best line in this trailer.

Pretty common in trailers. Either using dialogue from other scenes over parts that sort of match or having dialogue happen slightly earlier just to keep up the pace of the trailer. I think this is the latter, where they had the dialogue play out a second earlier in some scenes so they can cut it up better for the trailer.

Maybe this is the reason why we haven’t heard anything from Sandman season 2. Maybe they’re incorporating these characters into Sandman season 2 and we need to see this first. Also, hopefully that means this show won’t get canned.
Yeah, they appear on the Season of Mists storyline in the Sandman comics, and Sandman S2 is adapting Season of Mists, I'm sure we'll see them on S2
