It's amusing to see griping about Nero remixing and renaming a remix (Auto) of a song (Justice - Stress) that samples another song (David Shire - Night on Disco Mountain) that samples/covers an arrangement of a song (Stokowski's arrangement) based of an arrangement (Rimsky-Kosakov) of another song (Mussorgsky - Night on Bald Mountain).
Angst is a remix of the Auto Remix of Stress, the original being Stress which samples a disco song "Night on Disco Mountain", and which the disco song samples the 1800's classical "Night On a Bald Mountain"
This song is all about tension and release, that delay does an amazing job of prolonging that feeling. Though there are many other interesting tricks they used too, like the siren mimicking synths, and the Jaws style string progressions. It's just a great piece.

I agree! I've heard a lot of the strong driving basses that descend/ascend in pitch and have minimal modulation in terms of LFO's, and god damn the one on this drop is by far the hardest.
This is perfect music for running: the tempo in the beginning is great for a long stride jog to get the heart rate up, and trying your damnd'st to keep that stride in double time when the beat drops. It gives you a break, then lets you loose one more time to gas out on. 10/10 will run to this song again.

Y'all are up in arms about this being a remix of Justice's Stress. Nero never intended to pass this off as their own. It first aired in Nero's 2010 essential mix along with about 50 other remixes. Angst is just the name some marketing exec slapped onto this section of the mix and packaged with the Welcome Reality deluxe edition album
I loved Stress by Justice, then one day my then 62 year old former-hippie mom was jamming out to this... and is still in my top list of awesome dubstep drops, not to mention hard hitting electronica songs in general. Thanx Mum!
I work at a shooting range. I recently went down to refill one of the traps (where the discs fly from) while listening to this song through my ipod. I was high as Wiz Khalifa on this particular day, and as the song started, I opened the door to about 6 or 7 giant wolf spiders. My god, the terror.

Why do people keep calling this a remix? It’s nothing like stress. Basically a entire different track, might make some people mad but a debatably better one at that.
"Angst," the bonus track included on the deluxe edition of the album, is a remix of Auto's remix of the Justice track "Stress" from the compilation album Ed Rec Vol. 3
It was originally made as the remix of Stress by Justice and then when they released it on the album they called it Angst instead. It is their own song, but it started off as a remix :)
that was fucking madness... my buddy warned me he almost scratched out his eyes listening to this... i guess im lucky i just tore off my shirt lol. honestly amazing.
Just OK at first, but if you listen to it 2 or 3 times it just gets better each time. I think what makes NERO so great is the unexpected changes to the tune at set intervals throughout it, makes it harder to get bored with compared to more popular (repetitive tune) music.
I like the part where you fail to realize it's a remix of Stress, by Justice, which has never been a secret. It was called "Stress remix" initially, but then they renamed the track to Angst.
@@dragonjay7277 Pretty wild that this is somehow 10 years later, but, check out e.g 1m49s of Stress (the music video) and compare it to 50s of this track - Nero is even using the exact same sample of... whatever that weird sound is.
Actually most of "Angst" sounds are exactly the same as in "Stress (Autoremix)". That's why people are so upset, it really feels like a remix, not an original track. Still, it's awesome
This song samples a sample of a sample. It samples Stress by Justice, which sampled Night on Disco Mountain from Saturday Night Fever, which interpolated/covered Night on Bald Mountain, composed by Modest Mussorgsky.
A song lost in time, no streaming service has it
Truly one of my favorite classics of the era.
Download it
What is the reason that no streaming services has it?
Why is that, I wonder
Maybe don't use streaming services like everyone else mainstream?

I saw an ad for nero's new album and immediately thought of this song. So hard and scary. Thanks for preserving it here.
