In IV, if I'm not mistaken, you can open the hood by shooting it but only with some models and jumping from a helicopter to see if it is damaged or destroyed depends a lot on the fall.
Usually vehicles are not packed with explosives waiting to detonate at the smallest disturbance.

People are saying GTA IV is realistic in terms of vehicle damage but let me break it down for ya'll:
Yes, GTA IV is superior in terms of body deformation and destruction regardless of it being in water but now I have noticed something after watching this video. GTA V has up the ante when it comes to realism. Aircraft in general is destroyed when dropped from an altitude containing no pilot. Also as you've seen in the video, car bonnets react to bullets. This also applies to other parts of cars such as trunks, tailgates, frunks, doors, front/rear bumpers, you get the idea. But at the same time, I stand my ground when I say GTA V's body deformation has been downgraded though. Otherwise in all other aspects, realistic.
It makes sense that the helicopter wasn't destroyed when falling, since the moving blades slow the fall
@@RandMV Yes in real life as well, the blades will slow down the fall but despite that, the helicopter will plummet to the ground and be destroyed.
