I would recommend to buy a simple plastic cover sheet for the car/truck, it will help to keep the snow off. In fact it is much easier to wipe the snow off the vehicle when it's covered as the snow doesn't stick to the metal. I live further north in Sweden and have the same issue with the snow, so I know from experience that it works.
bro hold out some more time!!! you are going to love ur life again in the summer and its going to be all worth it. We swedes are designed to work on ourselves during winter months and its common to have a little winter depression
Very beautiful nature! Cool house! But you have to fight the snow, otherwise you won’t be able to leave! That's why people live long and happy lives in Sweden. No fuss, quiet. Clean air, ecology. Is there water in your well? Do you use it? Thank you for video..
Interior Alaska is much the same. The solution for us was to purchase a sturdy old pickup truck (for you, perhaps an SUV), mount a blade on the front, and keep it stationed on the property as the snow plow. A regular daily routine of readily pushable lanes can keep access and parking quite manageable. Headbolt heater(s) on the engine powered by a timed circuit (half hour on, half hour off) keep the vehicle ready for whenever you need it. Best of luck to you!
Hello from Washington, DC USA! 😊 Just found your channel today and have been binge watching. Love your home. And if I were a mouse, I would be all up in your house too with all that delicious food be cooking. 😁
Hi David, sorry to hear about the floor! I'm in the process of getting my place in Sweden (Norrland), your videos helped me looking at real estate ads with a more realistic and critical approach. Best of luck with everything, greetings from Switzerland
Plenty of shoveling. You take care over there Handsome, at least it keeps You fit. There are 41 days left until the end of astronomical winter and we are closer into the summer by more than 1hour and 30 minutes😘😘
I feel your pain (from the middle of Norway) with the snow, some days it's just constantly battling the elements! Ref de-icing your truck: have you considered to install a motor heating element and interior heater? That helps a lot! You do need to have power close by where you park the car of course. But turning on those two heater ~an hour before wanting to use the car (on a remote timer/smart outlet) will make the car be defrosted mostly when you get to it
That's the plan. I talk about it in video 5 (ruclips.net/video/m-LlT_-PDmY/видео.htmlsi=yw_nNQxF4dr1OXBj). In fact, I just received the building permit for it the other day 🎉
Oh boy, loads of clearing everyday, it's not something I've been exposed to before. I'm even less experienced with the cold living in Cape Town, but I have experienced some snow in Germany years ago.❤
I would have gone with the hamster technique, bought supplies such as food and crafting material beforehand, used the consistent cold as a huge fridge, and wouldn't bother too much with moving the snow, but I would have worked mostly inside fixing things. But I see, you gotta get out as well sometimes! Anyway, great video.
I know I'm too late with this comment, but I sure hate to see you tearing out that floor. You could install a "floating" laminate floor with a pad over the floor you have and it would be "happy-joy". Also, a pusher shovel is much easier to deal with than the grain scoop shovel you have. A pusher will do your deck easily, no problem! And...I see a nice carport in your future!
Nice. Looks just like us in Quebec Canada. But we have a bit more snow and down to -30 sometime ;) Too bad about that damn floor. Wish you luck for the newer one. What's that pickup-truck model you are driving ?
It's a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. I'm just glad it didn't get as cold this year. Last year, we had -34°C and about 50 cm more snow. But winter isn't over yet, so let's not celebrate too soon 😂
@@SwedenAdventure How does the cold feel there in Värmland? Does -20°C feel insanely cold like down south, or is it closer to the nice "dry cold" as they have way up north? Or perhaps something in between?
Sorry but that's it? I mean we get it, winter is hard in sweden and you built a house there. What do you do when the snow is gone and your house is finally finished?
but if "winter in sweden" is a harsh reality, why move there in the first place? I will settle down in a warm country for sure because I really dont like the cold winter here in germany
ruclips.net/video/hwBwfAv4lRc/видео.html Moment of "whyyyy did I doo that" We pretty much never use self leveling stuff in sweden except when tiles are to be used.

So true! It's February now and every day is getting longer which means the spring is almost here!
The clear blue sky is awesome. At least one silver lining in the darkest season. The missing monologue fits the scenery.
keep calm and talk to your friends and familiy a lot, best thing to do to get through the swedish, very lonely winter!
it"s called normal swedish winter... In the 90s there was much more snow around in Värmland.

I can feel your frustration about the floor. Hope i will turn out well this time 👍👍🧡

Maybe a car port till next winter?

Dags att köpa snöslunga. :-)
Staring at the snow while listeningto melancholy music.... what else do they do in this godforsaken place.

I didnt see anything wrong with the floor tbh. Looked solid.
Weey hope you doing good brother. Cheers from sundsvall
Those pancakes need Canadian maple syrup eh!!
When you redo the floor, get some armeringsnät :)
Das ist ja schon ein ASMR-Video!

Great vid! I would rent a bilningshammare for the floor.
Make a multiple tartar's and regain some strength 💪
Please make a video of cleaning snow ❄️ for other car 🚙 as well
Nah. Only parts of Sweden. Here in Halmstad we hardly get any snow. This winter we only had a sprinkle of snow 😭
Have you figured out why the skimming coat didn't bond to the subfloor? You can't be too happy about that, maybe the temperature?
u need to build a carport
which part of Sweden do you live?, must be quite far north.

There is not much to do in the winter right? So keep shuffling :)
Why do you have to remake the floor?
It sank from the weight and separated.
Need mice update!!! Next time? Also, why not get professionals to deal with the floor? Man that looks rough. Yeesh

Atleast put on a music or a podcast while working, that looked waaaay too depressing, have at it king!
how is it to live without them?
Horrible life over there
As a swede i kind of agree. You can live fairly close to a bigger city but still have this size of land. No need to be up in the arctic region.
Jimmy are you talking about America? That is where life is horrible right now here in Sweden we don’t have a mad man running and ruining the country!
