Dear Paul, your dedication is inspiring. I just found your videos yesterday 'cause I just started my preparation, and I can be totally sure that they're really useful. Thank you so much!
You were right!!! I wrote 230-240 in the writing part, but in spite of that i got the highest score (190) for that part! For those who wanna know, I am talking about FCE.
Dear Paul, I am taking CAE tomorrow. Just wanted you to know that I feel like I have learnt more with your videos on how to prepare it than in a whole year in the academy. Thank you!
lucaspamplonica thank you so much. I have a load of students doing it tomorrow too. Some quick tips: no more than 30 minutes on Use Of English. Do the reading in this order: part 8, 7, 5 then 6. For the writing plan plan plan and after 25 minutes you must stop planning even if not finished and start writing your essay. As for the listening, eyes on the text, listen carefully, pay attention to distractors and always eliminate the answers you are sure it's not even if you are not sure of the answers. Best of luck and let me know how you do)
I finally found great video classes for FCE!! I'm from Brazil and my test is in two months. I really loved your advices, you're such a nice teacher. Thank you!
14:27 'discourse markers' - correct use of these words is essential. They are found repeatedly in the texts in each part of the RUOE, from part 1 to 7.
Hello Paul, today is the first day I find you, and I love your advices and your style to explain things. So that, could you please do a tutorial of collocations and prhasal verbs, or could you send me some web-sites or a list of this. Thank you for all.

Hello Paul, Thank you for this useful vieeo' Could you help me with something? I have been studying the writing part for a while now, but I still struggle with two things: 1- Word count. It dosen't matter how much I plan, I still end up writing over the word limit. What could I do to improve? 2- Time. I take about an hour to write an essay, and don't know how to go faster and still write correctly and answer the questions. Have a nice day.
Hi Paul, this is V from Barcelona. I just want to start following you, but it's difficutl to me to find your first video in RUclips. Can you help me, please?
I am taking my exam soon and i started practising my writing skills and I have such an IMPORTANT TO me question, what kind of essay should I write (opinion essay ir for and against essay) I am asking you as I cannot find anywgere the asnwer to this question. The order of the task does not say it and I am confused
Hi there) The word limit is stated on the exam paper for each essay. For example, CAE part 1 and 2 it's 260 words. You can get away with 300 but anymore and you could lose marks. A Cambridge examiner will read the entire essay but it could be that some of your input may be irrelevant. It all comes down to good planning.
Dear Paul, I made a promise... if I passed the CAE I would kiss your feet! wash them and send me location!! hahaha thanks a lot for your advice and these great videos! xoxoxo
walexey1985 it really depends. The examiners will read the whole essay but as long as you compensate yourself with good English, organized essay and you have answered and supported the task, you should be fine)
hello paul, thank you for your video, it helps me a lot, what happens if I write more than 190 words? Many times I need more than 190 to be exhaustive. Can this attitude affect my final mark?
Hi Sergio, the Cambridge examiners have said that doing less or more than the word count does not automatically give you less or more marks. If you do more than 190 words, they will check if all the content is relevant (and you haven't gone off topic) and you might lose some marks for communicative achievement. I hope this helps!
🥳🥳🥳I finally passed my exam thanks to Mr Clark who helped me with tutoring. He has good tips and questions for everyone willing to join his group.I was recommended to him by a friend even though it took me time to trust in him but at the end I am happy for the good work.I want to take this opportunity to tell you all to join him and trust in him despite the process

How many words should I write in the essay? Is it strict or just more or less?

Am I the only one who gets too much focused on the writing and forgets about the amount of words?
Few days ago I did FCE, and I wrote around 230-240 words in both parts of the writing paper =/ Will I loose a lot of marks for that?
walexey1985 it really depends. The examiners will read the whole essay but as long as you compensate yourself with good English, organized essay and you have answered and supported the task, you should be fine)
