I'll bet the house smells heavenly after that! WOW1 This will hit the spot! Another top-tier winner, Rik!!!!!! Thank you for always doing this for us!!!!!
This is a really good dish that I learned to make in Chinese cooking school 30 years ago. Your take is spot on, Rik. Chinese dishes generally require a little bit of a number of ingredients and that makes a world of difference in the taste. A lot of little nuances add up to a big overall taste. My brother and I have been talking about your recipes. He just got out of intensive care in the hospital and as soon as he is well enough I will watch this with him. Although he won’t be going home any time soon , he loves Asian cooking and has been working on learning Japanese dishes. Talking about your recipes will give us something pleasant to discuss, although the contrast to hospital food may be painful. 🙂. Thanks Rik.
This time next year Rik you’ll be at either 250000 or half a million subscribers. Why ?? Because you’re that good and everything you cook is so well explained and having cooked a good few of your recipes that are ALL so delicious and easy to make with your guidance. Thanks for sharing your cooking skills and recipes. 👍🏴
Appreciated. Its nice to have the subs - its better to have the folks on here, like you that actually can tolerate me keeping it simple. I have others who moan about explaining things - they must be professional's. I would like everyone to be able to put a meal on the table without the fuss. Thank you. Best, Rik

Just finished having this for dinner. It was exceptional! Better than (almost) any I've ever had in a restaurant! We served it over egg fried rice (another excellent Backyard Chef recipe)! Thank you, Rik!
Oh that looks absolutely delicious Rik, miss the weekly takeaway meals my husband & I used to enjoy after work on a Friday. Can’t really afford it anymore, but I would definitely love to attempt to make this. Oooo 😋, I can almost smell it here, fantastic with that little kick of fresh ginger & softened onions still with a bit of crunch - I’m drooling like a toddler here!🤤😆 As always, a big thank you 🙏 for sharing Rik! 👨🍳🥩🧅🫚👌
Ah, Rik, you got me today! I really have to get some nice beef for this wonderful dish during the week. Thanks a lot for your wide variety of great recipies.

Oooooh mouthwatering recipe, i will do this for my other half but i prefer chicken and broccoli in oyster sauce yet never made it myself. Fantastic Rik again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Made this dish for dinner last night & served with rice noodles Hubby loved it, added a little chilli & broccoli...... delicious Now to cook up a few more of your Asian dishes Thank you 😂
It is interesting to baking soda used as a tenderizer; something that I have never done. With that exception and one more, this is exactly the way I make mine. The other exception that pushes this a little more toward my all time ouster sauce favorite is the addition of green pepper cut into squares; but, that is beef and pepper in oyster sauce. That and a nice bowl of jasmine rice puts dinner up into the heaven zone. ขอบคุณมาก, Rik.
Wow Rik that looks delicious I love onions cooked that way my son made a lovely chicken stir fry yesterday with every veg we had in the kitchen and freezer it was lovely can’t beat a stir fry can you when you want something tasty and healthy and it’s the sauce that makes it for me 👌thank you , Amanda xx

That looks absolutely delicious! Have or do you ever use MSG? & if so, does it make that much difference to a dish ? Thanks for all your yummy vids Rik 🙏😋
Yes I have - its a flavour enhancer that many folks moan about - I have no issues with it at all. Virtually all the food in Asia has it in. Some more than others. Used sparingly and if you have no allergies its ok. Thank you. Best, Rik
Rik, I’ll tell you what, I’ve just cooked this up for my better half and it was incredible. Definitely going to be a regular dish for dinner. Thank you ☺️
Not familiar with Beef & Onions as an Asian dish but your recipe is 100% the recipe for Beef with Broccoli! Just blanch a cup or 2 of broccoli florets and add with the beef. If you want it more saucey add 1 teaspoon chicken powder,1/4 cup water and about another 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch to the sauce recipe. Technique and flavour profile are bang on!!
There's always an expert who wants to improve on a perfectly good dish. I'm sure that Rik with his experience, already knows to add broccoli etc! etc! to make a completely different dish. If your only comment is to give advice to an already experienced chef, start your own channel for goodness sake.
