    Hi Madi! Quick question did you get an Associates or bachelors in nursing? I’m taking pre requisite classes right now and everyone recommends getting my Bachelors because I’ll have a better possibility of getting hired. Please let me know what you think thank you!

    • @glorianavarrete6785
      @glorianavarrete6785 2 года назад +5

      Hi! Just wanted to see if I could help. It doesn’t really make a difference if you have an ADN or BSN, you take the same NCLEX. In my state, there’s no pay difference if you have an ADN or BSN, I know it’s different in other states but the amount is really only a couple dollars if that. I really recommend working as a tech in the unit you want to be a nurse (especially if it’s ED/OB/ICU where they only take a couple new grad RNs at a time) Hospitals will always prioritize hiring their own staff before taking outsiders. It’s cheaper to do ADN, you’ll sign a contract stating you’ll get your BSN in x amount of years when you get hired. But it’s also nice to just do it all one go with bachelors and not have to worry about looking for a BSN program. Hoped this helped! 😊

      @moonlightprincess449 2 года назад +4

      @@glorianavarrete6785 yea but as of lately they want you to have your bsn I heard, so it might be better to go straight bsn to be more competitive

    I'd be interested in knowing what the pay there is!! I was a new grad nurse in a children's unit in New Zealand, the pay was sooo little $25 NZD (about 15USD) an hour. Really bad shifts, and very verrryyy short staffed. The pay just isn't worth it for me so I have changed to electrical engineering

      15 dollars an hr as a nurse .. wow that's low ... most places its 30-35 in USA and some could be higher depending on the living situation ex california is expensive places so I heard RN can make up to 50 $ an hour ...

      Our hospital will hire anybody. They usually quit within a few months due to inadequate staffing. In a few years, I think hospitals will have to fork over enough money to adequately pay us, as the world suffers more from these safety hazards.
