J'ai voulu voir ta sœur / I wanted to see your sister
Et on a vu ta mère / And we saw your mother
Comme toujours / As always
T'as plus aimé Vierzon / You no longer liked Vierzon

Mais je te le dis / Well I’m telling you
Je n'irai pas plus loin / I will go no further

J'irai pas à Paris / I won’t go to Paris
D'ailleurs j'ai horreur / Besides I can’t stand

À la gare Saint-Lazare / At Saint-Lazare train station
J'ai vu Les fleurs du mal / I saw Les fleurs du ma
Par hasard / By Chance
T'as plus aimé Paris / You no longer liked Paris
Et on a quitté Paris / And we left Paris
T'as plus aimé Dutronc / You didn’t like Dutronc anymore
On a quitté Dutronc / So we left Dutronc
Maintenant je confonds ta sœur / Now I confuse your sister
Et le mont Valérien / With Mont-Valérien
De ce que je sais d'Hortense, / And from what I know of Hortense,
J'irai plus dans l'Cantal / I won’t go back to the Cantal region
Et tant pis pour Byzance / And too bad for Byzantium
Puisque j'ai vu Pigalle / Since I got to see Pigalle
Et la gare Saint-Lazare / And Saint-Lazare station
C'est cher et ça fait mal / Is expensive and it hurts
Au hasard / Randomly
Mais je te le redis / Well I’ll tell you again
Je n'irai pas plus loin / I will go no further

I like how she has a coffee cup in her hand... obviously a must to get that many French words out that fast.
Miss the baguette in the other hand... but maybe that would be way too French.
It's true. The song was inspired by caffeine. Lots of caffeine.
I assume it had to be espresso, not French press.

I can't be the only one who is not keen on the disposable cup!
I don't understand a word she's singing but the way her voice makes all those sounds is so mesmerizing. I love that she's just holding a cup:D
there are EN subtitles!
The lyrics is nice enough, too. You can turn on English subs to see what the song is about.
To my Slavic ears, French is so wonderfully incomprehensible. :)
Probably warm liquids to save her voice during long recording sessions.
that's her fourth cup of coffee. she needs all those caffeine for this song xD
I don't speak French at all but I cannot stop listening to this... It sounds sooo freaking good. You all are incredibly talented, easily my favorite band!!!
a song about inconstancy of women.............
You mean easily your favourite cover band
@@dominiccrimmings6925 No, I didn't
Put the subtitles on, they are in English😂
I've been watching all of your French videos over and over again lately (because they're so much fun) and kept wondering why Sarah was vaguely familiar to me and why her French was so good. Turns out we grew up in the same neighbourhood (where I'm back living today). Congrats to a fellow Manitoban and to all of you for creating such amazing music. I wish I'd stumbled on you all sooner :)
As a French immigrant to the US, I am so envious of truly bilingual people. I am old enough to have heard Jacques Brel sing this song on stage and this cover would most likely make him applaud. Bravo!
Eh bien bravo pour votre version de Vezoul, elle est vraiment top et originale ;
Thank's from Belgium
Rendons à César ce qui est à lui, this is "a very fast Belgian song"!
Hello I’m a french Canadian so i do speak fluently french and English. And I can tell the pronunciation of your lyrics was GREAT! Flawless and Impressive.

The coffee in hand makes the video perfect. A friend of mine sent me the original song once an I fell in love with it. Mostly because I just love most music that's quick and fast. Hearing it from Pomplamoose just makes my day. Thanks!
The coffee in hand... on a foam cup, that USA cultural object... The song is a keeper, but it looks like an ode to a discardable object. Anyway, moving on. And - great song, great interpretation!
Love Brel's music. Equal parts fine poetry and musical experimentation.
He was a genius ahead of his time
So hyped to hear you all in Brel! My favorite french singer, full of contradictions, what an artist. On spot pronunciation and diction despite he's famous for his incredibly unique and tricky style.
If I may recommend a hidden gem: Orly, recorded in one take few weeks before he died when he was already quite sick.
Actually, he was Belgian ;) Greetings from Brussels 🇧🇪
exact ! Belgian and NOT FRENCH !!! greetings from Waterlo

I was going to say that, enfin Brel! You are always emotionally at home with French songs, and with many American songs as well but not all.
Waouh, superbe reprise.
Prochain challenge, Boby Lapointe ( ruclips.net/video/aby_BCtyQVQ/видео.html ) ? Excellent exercice !

@@mehmetkurtkaya3106 Please be wary to not confuse "French songs" with "songs in French". Would you call every American song an "English song" ? Or heve Latin American songs labeled as "Spanish songs" ? Would you like it if I labeled every Turkish song as "Kurdish", or vice-versa ?
Jacques Brel - "le Grand Jacques" - was Belgian, born and raised in Brussels, and called himself "a Fleming talking French".

I love watching your mannerisms and facial expressions as you sing as much as I like listening to the song!
Absolutely, I agree ..💙
Especially since the early Pomplamoose days were the exact opposite. :)
Wow. This was incredible. I felt pulled in further and further into a sort of growing vortex I could not escape, as also the lyrics reflect. What a beautiful performance.
Oh wow ! Quelle belle interprétation. Vous faites honneur au Grand Jacques. Merci !
Thanks for the voice, for the facial expressions, for the manner of performance. And for meeting Jacques Brel. You're the best!
Fabulous, and the clarinetist is to die for
Well, it's official. Nataly is a robot. She's a kind and lovely robot, but still. I had my suspicions after she absolutely crushed the impossible vocals on Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster," but now we have clear proof. No human woman could possibly sing this many complicated words at this frenetic tempo with such perfect diction. C'est impossible. Nice try, Secret Robot Overlords! But feel free to send us more impossibly talented androids, because one is just not enough. :)
😂
Ce n'est bien pire qu'impossible. Ce n'est pas possible.
Hey, you wanna go with the Robot theory, fine, but I'll ad: such a lovely robot ! 🥰🥰🥰

True, she's good, but you should listen to Scottish puirt-à-beul if you really want to hear people singing foreign languages at a hundred miles per hour. ^-^

Whenever I listen to music like this I can never decide if I would enjoy it more or less if I knew the language. This is just beautiful noise to me. I have never been one to go into deep analysis on lyrics and enjoy music more for the sound and how it makes me feel. Most of the time I will click away and listen in the background but some of your videos have been so good I just find myself watching again and again. Thanks for all the great music.
It's a pretty funny song about a guy which does everything his wife ask even if it's the opposite of his will...
With many funny things like he don't like accodeon and Musette Waltz but all the music in the song is about that, because of this trip he meet some prostitutes it was expensive and it hurts..etc
Wow! This was a delightful surprise - I would have 100% believed this was a French song recorded in the 60s. Everything about it from the arrangement to your voice to your French is wonderful and totally unexpected. I am very thankful for the English subs 'cause as delightful as it is to just listen to, the lyrics turn out to be really fun. I'm going to add it to my playlist of French songs from the 60s and it'll be our little secret.
