love the boat motor sound... i have my mk4 chip tuned (stage one) and with a K&N induction... It pulls a lot.. now im going to the exhaust and may be other mods .. really good car, really good motor, not slow at all if you make some mods on it .. more vids!
@@c-kb-dog567 well a turbo would make the 2.0 fast. To make it quicker and stay na, I reccomend a 272 or 276 cam. intake, exhuast and a tune. If you wanna go deeper into the na build you can port the cylinder head and some bigger valves along with a 288 cam and some headers and it will be a fun little single cam engine. with proper head work you could be able to rev to around 76-7700 rpm
i have a 272 cam that i had in a 1.8 cis but had heavy duty valve springs with titanium retainers. if i were to throw this cam in a stock 2.0 AEG how would the valve springs hold up? any valve float at high rpm?
How's the power compared to stock? I am planning on buying either the 272 or 276. Did you notice a good increase? does it rev faster and pull a lot harder than stock?
Chris Richards alot more pull all the way threw the rpm range it doesnt fall on its face it just keeps going till you hit rev limit or shift i had mine tuned aswell
I am really excited to get the engine out and torn down. Im going to rehone the cylinders and put in some fresh rings new oil pump ect. Then im going to deck the head for a little more compression not much maybe 0.02 then port the head and port match and then add a beautiful 272 cam with new valve guide seals and springs. 😊 what springs are you running in yours?
Chris Richards stock lol anything bigger than a 272 deff get new ones i did there 2 hour break in and then kepted it under 4k rpms for 500 miles with a special additive to help it break all in ...then i beat the shit out it and only crakced 3 heads so far hahahaha
Did techtonics tuning do the reflash to the ecu or a local tuning shop to you, I cant find anything on putting a cam I'm my 07 golf with the 2.0 can find cans but no chips or tunes
For what it was ya , it mad a noticeable difference in driving but would def run a full exhaust. I had a full 3 inch system on it after this video and it sounded great
I know that he won't answer but for me I would jsut go with a 260 cam it's higher than stock for sure but you don't need bigger springs or a tune to run it and it won't throw an engine code it gives you more top end power and if you port your intake you should be running good with like 5-10 more horse so if I were you get a 260 tt cam or auto tech cam
@@chancebarber9817 it would crack the head in between the valves so i just got a junkyard motor for 150$ and would swap the head or full motor in and swap over the cam again lol by the 3rd time i learned how to stretch the springs doing a break in process so it didnt happen again but id recommend doing springs and stuff to upgrade the head .
No I just ran it with everything stock lol I have cracked a few heads tho in between the intake and exhaust valves in a few different vws doing that but this one held up
hahahahaha when i bought this car i paid 700$ cause they did the timing belt and it ran like shit thinking it was broke .....it was 3 teeth off hahaha i re timed it and it need a new maf and bam thing ran strong ...then i did cam performance shit once i new it was healthy ,,but saved alot of cash by ordering all my tune up parts off amazon lol
Damn, Little late to the party but this thing sounds fire (Also nice tail lights lol)

what do all vws 2 slow, vrs even the tsi... all of them straight piped sound like boat motors
Mine sounds like a plane 😂
@@ryanvanwinkle5702 😂❤
Mine has a long tube header, no cat, and a borla muffler and it sounds exactly like a boat motor.
It's just VAG motors in general. They all sound like tractors. Funny enough my wife's peugeot 307 sounds like a diesel 🤣🤣🤣

i ran my 272 cam with a fully stock head just did there break in they told me to do and it was fine
Sky Schur thanks for letting me know

I know this was mad long ago but did you ever have a tune?
Ya, I had a tune for it . But I forgot what one

Dude that sounds like giant cow fart.
Chad Moyer wow so funny
@@SoupGunMachine but it does
Then you obviously never heard a cow fart :D
Chipped? Other mods? Or just the cam? Thanks bud

I smoked 2 heads using the 272 with out upgrading the head so I would recommend upgrading the head or going with a smaller cam.
