Chyler leigh was pretty much the only actress on the show to actually bring me to tears when she was crying or hurting.. She's such a good actress and made Lexie so likable and genuine. Definitely my favorite character on the show

I think Lexie's death scene is the saddest death scene on the show, so fucking upsetting and tragic, I cried like a baby for about an hour after I saw it for the first time. So brilliantly acted.

After Mark died they should have done an elevator scene with them like with Izzy and George except that Mark gets off the elevator and goes with Lexie. That would have been perfect IMO.
I don't agree as the elevator scene was iconic for izzie. She was on her way to see Denny in her dress and that's why when she almost died she saw George but she didn't get off. The elevator isn't really iconic or special for lexie and mark :) just my opinion tho

Yes but it was relevant to izzie as that was the scene where she got on an elevator as a wife to be and left as a widow to be. Mark and lexie never had that happen to either one of them. I think it would make izzie and georges scenes less special
MrCarlorr You can't just copy a scene and then just change the ending, how is that a good scene? Besides, Izzie's scene was a lot more powerful. Izzie was dying of cancer, George was dying by his accident when he saved a girl on his way to apply for the army. So when she saw George stand there in the army outfit, she kinda knew.

I used to *HATE* Mark until Lexie came into his life. I honestly believe that Lexie made him human for the first time since Addison, and I’m not entirely sure that Addison was the proverbial love of his life, either (before Lexie came along, I mean).

I *still* miss George. He was one of those characters that I truly wish Shonda hadn’t killed off, just so he could come back some day. However, with the way that everything went down with TR Knight/Shonda/Isaiah Washington, I *truly do* understand why TR Knight wouldn’t want to come back. That was some messed up garbage, and that’s being *INCREDIBLY* polite.

Washington and Knight got into some sort of argument/fight during the camping episode in, like, season 3 or whenever, and Washington called Knight a “faggot” (Isaiah Washington said something to the effect of “I’m not your fucking faggot like TR is!!!", apparently). Of course, Washington denies this, but there WERE witnesses. Knight hadn’t really come out to the world at large yet, at the time of the incident. As a result of the argument/fight, TR Knight was more or less forced to confirm his sexuality BECAUSE the press got wind of what Washington had called him and widely reported on it.

They should have made the ending like this. Mark Sloan dies but then his ghost body appears he's in the hospital next to his body. In front of the door is lexi grey smiling at him. He walks towards her and hold her hand. She looks up at him and says "meant to be". Then they walk off into the light.

I just watched this and it's the middle of the night and I'm sobbing into the pillow. It's been months after I finished Grey's Anatomy and I'm rewatching it. Every time I see something sad I cry so much,
I know its a drama, but man this hospital has the worst luck, first with O'Malley getting hit by a truck, then the loser gunman shooting up the place, followed by a plane crash, the intern getting electrocuted and then Shephard getting into an accident and dying. So many deaths in 1 hospital.

I'll never get over this episode. Lexie's death was incredibly heartbreaking. Meredith's reaction to finding out her sister died is some of Ellen Pompeo's best acting ever. Shonda Rhimes is SAVAGE.
The shot where Derek looks over and sees Mark holding Lexi's hand just kicks you in the feels.
Anyone else remember in season 5 Lexie said “I’m going to stroke your hair now because that what I like to have done to me when I’m hurt” and you can see mark doing just that in this scene.. so emotional and I love both of their characters and hope that they make a few episodes of them in heaven loving each other and living the life they deserved. After all, they were meant to be.

oh comr on. Chyler Leigh asked to leave her contracf because she wants to spend more time with her family. At least she died knowing mark loved her and at least shonda killed her with respect, same with george and mark. Ill admit i cried when this happened and i miss lexie a lot but shonds killed her with respect and made her character into a character greys anatomy fans will never forget, and the way they showed marks flashbacks and how he loved lexie all along was also brilliant. Ans eveen when george died, he died while saving another womans life, showing his true character amd killing him with respect. so whoever says that shonda is a bitch, shut the hell up because she has the up most respect for all the characers who have died in this show. I havent even watched he full series, im only on season 9 episode 12, so i dont even know whats gonna happen but if any other characters die, itll probably be with respect

They made each other better. She died so slowly and then Mark died even slower probably recounting every single minute. Or even then he might have blocked it all out and his body and mind couldn’t handle it 😭😭😭then Meredith finding Lexie... uncontrollably losing it in front of Mark who’s Numb. Meredith literally lost faith - first her mum, then her step mum and now her sister, then her dad.... she lost everyone. 😰

I think one of the saddest things about her death is, right before this episode she confessed her love to Mark but Mark didnt say it back to her even tho he loved her too. So when she died, he kept repeating “i love you i love you i love you”.

Lexie was such a good character on the show, she really portrays her emotions and vulnerability so damn well!
Lexie was the only one of the four main doctors (George, Derek Mark and her) who died out of the hospital, she died smashed by a piece of a plane, with her lungs filling with blood, preventing and making her breathing painful, without feeling the other arm, probably feeling very cold and without her sisters and dad by her side to say goodbye. I will never get over Lexie's death, it was the death that most affected me, it's been almost 9 years and I still haven't overcome this loss. She would have been a great aunt for Meredith's 3 children, a great sister and great friend. Shonda just broke my heart in a million of pieces when she had to kill her, I'll always miss my Lexipedia.🖤

My wife is rewatching all the past seasons on Netflix. I never got into the show before, but Lexie is so addictively likeable that I started watching it with her this time around. Dang. Lexie was the one thing I liked about Grey's 🙁

Lexie dying is positively one of the best acting death scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie and on television. Chyler Leigh is a fabulous actress, every scene she is in is so believable and heartbreaking or funny. I don’t think she gets half the credit that she is owed. I love her now on Supergirl, and once again playing a lesbian she is wonderful. I am a lesbian and Chyler is heterosexual, but watching her act as a lesbian is so so honest and true, if I didn’t know any better I’d swear she was a lesbian in real life!!!

Sloan-Lex scenes in GA were not as much as Mer and Dereks, but Shonda ended their story beautifully that made their love story even better than Romeo and Juliet. I consciously understand what kind of business GA is, but still I drift by the story and end up bawlin out loud everytime I watch their last scene in GA. How Sloan repeatedly said "I love you, I love you" to the death Lexy and imagine how thing would be different when he said it back directly after Lexy confessed her feeling to him several days before, but it was just too late. Well that part touches me deeply. damn it!
This show is so well done. Right down to each detail. The music in these scenes is an instrumental of Rihanna's song Russian Roulette you're really in for a full circle gut punch if you look up those lyrics. They fit perfectly though. Tremendous attention to detail.
Mark Sloanes death broke me. I cannot even think about it without bawling. His death scene with Derek and Callie at his bedside is the most traumatic fictional death scene ever

fun fact: Chyler literally requested to kill off her character.Mark was supossed to stayed alive after Lexi but Eric said that Mark wasnt going to survive without Lexi so the producers kill him off too.

Y a w z j $$ I'm 27 and this scene still makes me cry like a baby. I don't cry for any TV show. However, this death scene is just too much. The fact that Lexie was my favorite character in GA and the fact the actress was so believable as that character really made this scene so effective.
