I can't wait! That color is stunning! I also agree with mjay. We need a pink, white with gold, amethyst, emerald, and maybe a light bronze hard gels and then do the same for the acrylic powders! If you did this in a collection, that would be so amazing! Can't wait for the sale!❤❤❤❤
I get overwhelmed with all my options and never know what to do on my nails. My go to is glitter 😂 but I’m practicing dimensional. You all are such an inspiration ! ❤️🔥💘❤️🔥
I didn't even recognized Melissa until she put her glasses lol The gel color looks nice but I'm color girl. A lavender and light blue with gold shimmer would be nice to have.
Tracey I completely agree with how it is when Melissa is “freestyling” -every time she adds something it’s awesome & then she adds here and there. I have been completely engrossed and excited the times she’s done my nails!
“Highlighter for the nails” for YEARSSSS I’ve been spending tons on products and doing Frankenstein mixing and matching to get this exact effect 😭😭😭😭 YN coming through!
Melissa is back!!!! So so good to see you!! 💕 These nails are SO cute your dimensional’s are like jewels. I want to see how you’d style this whole set (Color combos/glitters on the others). Please more videos!!! 🧡✨
MJ cracked me up. I feel the same way with new products, your mind goes crazy with ideas. I’ve learned a pointer you provided and love this art work. Thank you Tracey, MJ, and Young Nails ❤
Omg like seriously the color and the consistency is fantastic and seeing when Mel is whipping it to build and it’s not running or too bulky. Perfect as always. And I am SUPER anxious to see that opal pink ahh! And Stacy your set you did using the new gel is so gorgeous! I let is like the perfect amount of everything that you’ve used. The new product, glitters and everything. And the length too. I am a shorty gal but branching out with different lengths and shapes. Because I feel certain sets/designs do need to either be long/short or a certain shape. Depending on what inspiration picture you found. But need your video on what you used and did for your set that you did….. and love how Mel is extremely stoked for it all and hearing her ideas and how you both can create wonderful sets with your artists talents and seeing how you both have very different styles and both your work is superb and top notch and I would DIE to have you both as my nail tech 😵🥰 . I lack in that “ARTISTIC “ department and my nails are typically one color and I add either gems or nail stickers or add glitter but I WISH, I could make masterpieces like y’all!
This was one of the best learning videos I’ve seen. You covered ALL the angles all the way down to “knowing your worth” and I have to say…I wish you were in my life 27 years ago when I first started out. Thank you for your expertise!
Melissa is absolutely not wrong in asking for more colors. There's a serious shortage in the availability of good quality colored hard gels in America, especially from companies who sell to pros *and* non-professionals. I'd LOVE to see an American company come out with a line of milky colored gels! Like medium transparency milky greens and blues and purples and pinks and all those gorgeous colors you see on eastern European nails. And neon hard gels and glittery hard gels and just all the things that aren't cover pinks and French white and Clear. I honestly truly believe that there's a huge market out there for those things. ❤❤❤
Geez, look at how stunning Melissa is. She always has been, but this is the first time I've seen her in the past couple of years, so wow, what a change.
I MUST have this new gel! I can't wait for a demo on the Pink Opal Acrylic too! Melissa outdid herself on this one! I ❤❤❤ the dimensional nail she did using the New Honey Opal gel! 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️ can't wait to order both (and I don't do acrylic nails, but gonna get the Pink Opal and mix it into clear gel (or Build Pink)! 💅💅💅
Always Great to see two lovely ladies having fun!! I Love the Honey Opal when we can get a jar of it? Lol! Tracey that nail is awesome, thank you and come back again Melissa!
Yep, I definitely need the Honey Opal gel!! The pros will need it in the 60g size. oh and I need those glitters too 😅 Suggestion for the glitter page on the YN website: It would be awesome if we could filter the glitters by type or size in addition to color. for example show only large iridescent glitters or only holographic ones ...just a thought! Y'all are really having me considering getting a nail tech license it could happen some day!!
Oh this color is super pretty! Makes me think of White Canvas which would be a nice compliment to this color. Ugh, I need this and play around with dimensions!
Melissa, I love how your mind works. Mine works the same way. I've only been licensed for 8 months now, and I started school with no practice or experience under my belt. Midlife career change, so I think I'm about the same age as you. I finally found a career that is so much fun for me. I just need to get better at the foundational techniques, but my creative juices have been held back so long is hard to rein them in sometimes. I love your work!
Beautiful! Omg worth every penny! 'Know your worth' Absolutely Mel!!❤❤❤ As women in every aspect of our lives thats important. Im mad that im just seeing this! Yall need to make a Playlist for Mel's dimensional gel nails. She's so talented 🔥 Q: why did tracey stick her hand in the light after mel shaped and filed then added protein bond? 18:30

This color would be so pretty done with the plastic wrap style. The work would show up amazingly with all those peaks and valleys. Also, would it be possible to get the glitter names of what MJay used? I don’t remember hearing them all.
How long till I need to replace a bit. On average? Also, I have a desk light I work under, love it BUT it seems to have thickened my YN fiber gels and top coats. Everything is LED now, so how do you get good lighting without curing happening?
Depending on your usage, up to approximately 50 clients. If you are doing a lot of filing on long/acrylic nails, you may get less usage, whereas with hard gels or gel polish removal, it will last longer since these are softer products. There are actually differences in LED lights. Generally speaking, an LED table lamp doesn’t have the power to cure gels. Curing lamps are designed to have the maximum output to cure. You shouldn’t have any issues especially if you are purchasing a table lamp made specifically for nail tables.
You can use this honey opal as a polish like Mel showed a bit at the beginning. If you are wanting to use glitter, you can sugar or glitter press with it for a topical design. We wouldn’t recommend using larger sizes of glitter on top because they don’t lay down flat.
Forgot to ask, when you guys work in one another, and like you love the work they’ve done, but do you guys ever not like it on yourselves? Even though you do really love what they’ve done?
We are usually pretty good about talking a little bit before the set about shape or possibly color, but there is a lot of trust within our group so we are good with what is put on our nails.
The nail in this video would be more of a traditional almond. The Russian Almond has a slightly different C-curve and form fit. The edge nail would come to a peak on the top arch.
Stuck at the point where you said "sometimes when I'm taking down MMA product". I thought MMA monomer was NOT supposed to be used, since it's dental grade and not supposed to be used on nails....!
I have never heard you mention a shaping fee before. To shorten and reshape each nail... Isn't that the difference between a regular fill and a rebalancing fill?? In rebalancing we have to shorten, reshape and put the apex back into place. It's a lot more work, and the reason we charge more for it compared to a regular fill. So why another $25. to do what we are already charging more for, to do...?? It's a double charge... 🤔 Actually, as I give it some more thought, it's something we just do at every fill, for the most part. Most client want there nails shortened, the amount they just grew out - so isn't doing that just part of a fill?? It kinda seems like we are picking apart the service and pricing each section. An A La Carte kind of thing... 🤔
You can set up your pricing and services how it is best for you and your clientele, but for a basic 2 week fill, we generally don't do any shortening and reshaping as the nails haven't grown out excessively. When it comes to the 4 week rebalance, this is when we shorten the length and replace the apex. The shortening is included in this service, but if they want to change the shape, that is when we would recommend charging an additional fee. Changing the shape can take more time and for some changes, it may even require clipping off the free edge and re-sculpting. If this is the case, we definitely recommend charging extra as this may become more of a full set rather than just a rebalance.
@@youngnailsinc Okay, I understand what your saying.. I understand there difference between the 2 & 4 week fill, and a charge for changing shape. So then, why did Melissa charge the extra $ 25. ?? This is where I am still confused? Sorry.... 😔
I got lost during the pricing.... as I always do.. What do you mean, I did 3 dimensions? Is that layers? Are you calling each layer a dimension? So everytime you put on some gel and added glitter or mylar, or the white & gold veining you added ontop. Is that what you mean? Isn't that kind of being paid for the same thing twice? You charging them $5. for each item already, they paid $5 for the white and another $5 for the gold, now it's another $10, to actually put it on?? In the past, you said you charged per nail, that had dimensions art on it. And rarely did someone have all 10 nails done this way. So if they had 3 nails with dimensional art in their set, it was an extra $30. $10. per nail.. So, instead your now charging them per layer, per nail?? Or, no its per layer, per layer per set.?🤔
So Melissa charges $10 for every nail that has dimensional nail art. Not every layer. She's charging for the physical labor that goes into that look ($10 per nail) AS WELL AS the products used to create that look, which is $5 per product.
So pretty 😍 Question that hopefully you can help with - has any client ever had warm finger's from knuckle to cuticle (note not the nail bed!) from going in & out of the lamp with gel products- if yes can anyone tell me why & how to not have it happen as would love to be able to do a play with art like this but it's in & out of the lamp more time's than I did with just a natural biab overlay 😬🤞🤔💅🫶 TIA to anyone that can help 💕
It's possible that the warmth from the lamp is increasing the circulation, causing the fingers warm up. Depending on the lamp you are using, some give off more heat than others.
Yes, Melissa is totally right! Yall need an entire Opal GEL collection.
Thank you so much! 😊
I love when Melissa does Tracy’s nails! Need more of these videos!
Thank you!! It’s so much fun!! 😂
I agree she is always fun and mesmerizing to watch work. Never a boring video. Melis, we need more content girl!!!
Like watching Tracy and Melissa. Melissa's excitement is infectious.

I've been waiting for youngnails to get on the shimmer/more creamier gel bandwagon. We definitely need this gel in other colors!!
This one is absolutely beautiful!

They could even get 2 collections out of this, warm/Neutrals and a cool collection. That would be beautiful
I'd love a rose gold!
Hey Victoria x

Very happy to see Melissa back!

“It’s like highlighter for the nails” took the thought right out of my head lol

Absolutely Mel!!❤❤❤ As women in every aspect of our lives thats important.
Im mad that im just seeing this! Yall need to make a Playlist for Mel's dimensional gel nails. She's so talented 🔥
Q: why did tracey stick her hand in the light after mel shaped and filed then added protein bond? 18:30
Melissa applied protein bond and then gel to the nail and after that Tracey put her hand in the light.
lol a "colors of opals" collection for MJ.
Wow love that pinky 😍
Thank you!! 💅🏻💖✨
I love that Opal swirl. I've added Mica to some of my gels on occasion for that effect.
That is such a beautiful color...
It looks kind of peachy on my screen.. 😊
I definitely want to try that gel, the structure and play of it looks very interesting...
It looks just amazing to work with..
I agree with Melissa, we need more colors..!!
With all with that beautiful shimmer..!
A white is an absolute must, but the shimmer must be very strong in the white, not a slight glimps.

The kind that people scream and come running from across the room, grabbing your hand... Screeching what's is that!!, I want that !! Must have that !!

Of course a purple, but not a light one - more towards a plum or orchard.
I wonder if a black could be done??
An opal shimmer black, sound so interesting, again with heavy shimmer..
A nude of course would be perfect, might have to expand to several shades of nude in the furture...
And I think that would work to start, as a collection..
Not sure how I feel about red or green... Maybe as a Christmas addition..
Maybe hidden in the mystery boxes 🤯!!

This color would be so pretty done with the plastic wrap style. The work would show up amazingly with all those peaks and valleys.
Also, would it be possible to get the glitter names of what MJay used? I don’t remember hearing them all.
Products used are linked in the description. 😊
Thank you! They weren’t earlier, but they normally are.
bellissima Brava
Definitely mjay’s color, so gorgeous can’t wait to try it! ❤
Gorgeous color and art work ❤
I love trying all the new things too
New gel!!! I'm about to fall out of my chair! Lol!! Thank you!!
Wow! Love these new products! I can’t wait to try them! ❤
Professor 👩🏫 MJ has spoken for the masses- more gel colors needed for a full collection 😂❤
lol! Right!! 😂
Black fire opal please 🙏🏽
That's so cool....❤✨
❤❤
Good job, Ok for the price, but how long would it take for the whole set of nails.
Thx
It would really depend on if the client is wanting the dimensional design all 10 nails or any number less than that.
2:30 Focus Melissa 😂🤣
Lol
Hi Melissa ! The color you put on her pinky the rose/peach one is it hard gel or soak of ? I have just see this video !
Thank you.
This new color is a brand new hard gel. It does not soak off.
Hard gel! ❤
Love the blonde on you MJ!

Can we use the opal gel over fiber gel?
Yes, you could. If using it thinly like a polish.
@@youngnailsinc thank you. I order two. I want play around with using three different color inks. 😁
😂❤😂❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
😂🫶🏻💖✨
Love Melissa's dimensional work, but that price is too steep for me. That's why I watch these videos so I can learn how to do this to my own nails.
Thank you for watching?! 🫶🏻💖✨
Can you do dimensional vs non dimensional nail designs to see the difference? Dimensional vs design on top.
You can use this honey opal as a polish like Mel showed a bit at the beginning. If you are wanting to use glitter, you can sugar or glitter press with it for a topical design. We wouldn’t recommend using larger sizes of glitter on top because they don’t lay down flat.
What is the name of acrylic powder she showed in the video? I can’t make out the full name
Pink Opal is the name for the new acrylic
So it’s 1 new color for each medium? Acrylic and Gel, right?
@@blessedfamily5371 Correct, Honey Opal for hard gel & Pink Opal for acrylic.
The camera really doesn't do it justice.
I know! The color is beautiful in person! Thank you for watching!!

We are usually pretty good about talking a little bit before the set about shape or possibly color, but there is a lot of trust within our group so we are good with what is put on our nails.
I wish i could charge that price!
Would that shape be considered "Russian almond" or "edge" ?
The nail in this video would be more of a traditional almond. The Russian Almond has a slightly different C-curve and form fit. The edge nail would come to a peak on the top arch.
When's Melissa coming back??
More Mel videos coming soon!
It reminds me of silly putty 😅
Stuck at the point where you said "sometimes when I'm taking down MMA product". I thought MMA monomer was NOT supposed to be used, since it's dental grade and not supposed to be used on nails....!
It’s not, but there are unfortunately places out there that still use it so if you are having to take down someone else’s work you never know.
Actually, as I give it some more thought, it's something we just do at every fill, for the most part.
Tracey asked what she would charge if it was a whole set so she was pricing as if there 3 nails in the whole set she did with dimensional work.
So Melissa charges $10 for every nail that has dimensional nail art. Not every layer. She's charging for the physical labor that goes into that look ($10 per nail) AS WELL AS the products used to create that look, which is $5 per product.
@@youngnailsinc Oh, Jesus... lol.. 😅😂🤣
