Totally agree, if he wasn't lane hogging the van driver would have overtaken safely on the right and not been tempted to undertake recklessly in the first place not that anyway excuses nearly causing an accident with an innocent third party and the only one in the clip obeying the highway code

Who gets there first does not have right of way. The Highway Code states that you must give way to any vehicle approaching from the right (regardless of if they are on the roundabout or not). The Merc should have seen Lemmy and waited.

And to people saying he was speeding, why would you pull out in front of a speeding car?
Lammy at 7:20 apparently couldn't decide what lane he was in after exiting the roundabout so went for driving down the middle. The woman at 3:03 should have looked before stepping out. The rule for pedestrians having right of way covers "junctions" in the highway code rather than "roundabouts" so it'd debatable as to whether she had priority.

You shouldn't just fly into a round about at that speed, if you do that then darwin is alive.
0:28 John D is the prime example in this video on how to drive in roundabouts. He takes a quick yet calm entry to the roundabout, sees someone about to pull out in front him, lifts off and once it's clear that the car isn't pulling out (instead apologizing to John), he accelerates again to exit the roundabout. 10 points for John D, thank you for being an excellent driver, (in this clip at least :P)

I've seen 1London witness submit some right plums over the months, but I have to say that at 4:00 he rather showed himself up, for once. The van driver was an agressive twerp to start, and the cammer stood his ground perfectly within his rights; BUT having been forced to abort his manoeuvre, I would have expected an aggressive response to his frustration, and NEVER tried going around him as the cammer did. Besides which, recording his bad behaviour for the International Court of RUclips is always going to be more entertaining!
I'm not sure why there aren't more comments on this. I'm not even sure standing his ground was needed. A van that size has a big turning circle, and if you notice, he (the van driver) actually turns perfectly into the right lane of the 2 turning right, suggesting he knew what he was doing. When he did eventually turn left and cut someone off, he did indicate in the hope they would be a little understanding and give him some space. He didn't indicate at all at the first corner, which suggests it was just a "bigger turning circle" issue.
The cammer also moved into the right lane of the two lanes turning right, having initially been in the left lane. Almost exactly (the other way around) of what he was supposedly accusing the van driver of. Genius.
Yep, he usually posts his clips while driving his bus (or is it a truck, not sure) and calling out bad cyclists. Usually has comments disabled on his own videos because they show a driver with a bad attitude and clearly he knows it and doesn't want to be commented on!
3:10 onwards.... I think Peter M’s hazard perception is shocking and should therefore be made to sit that part of the driving test before being allowed on the road again!
Why do people pull out of junctions and THEN look? We need to have a retesting system, even it's just retaking your hazard awareness

3:31 as soon as I saw a TVR and a damp road, I said to myself: "he's goona spin". Ha, ha.
I'm the driver at 3:00 and the car is a LR Discovery. I was watching her from the second I came off the roundabout, and fully prepared for her to do exactly what she did. Contrary to multiple comments, I did NOT accelerate towards a pedestrian. The length of those white lines is roughly the same length as one car. It's ok to sit there and be an armchair critic, but when it happens, in real time, that's how much time you have to realise what's happening, and react. If I had been accelerating, she'd have been hit, without a doubt. As it was, she ended up about 4-6 inches away from my bumper.

From my perspective Liam is 100% to blame for this. He abruptly went from the second lane from the right to the third lane from the right.
@@kABUSE1 - maybe watch the clip again. Lanes 1 & 2 are left turns. Lane 3 (what Liam was in) is straight on. Guy in the Merc was in the wrong lane and paid the price.

well would councils spend so little on road maintenence, as we see, here in fact, thats just not true and probably largley why they collided, you can't see the lane markings which on a roundabout as big and busy as that is a serious safety hazard.
I'm not sure, the Merc could of been behind him on joining. It does look like Liam goes for the centre lane of the three available lanes on joining, then moves to the left lane. Not necessarily wrong but not particularly decisive.
Okay, maybe Liam is not 100% to blame but I think any judge would partly blame him, maybe 50/50. I think this is quite a dangerous intersection. It's illogical why the lane the car was in doesn't offer the option to go straight so actual road markings (each lane seperated by a white line) should have been there VERY obviously highlighing the fact that the car was not allowed there. Still think it was a very bad move by Liam to change to the third lane. He is hopefully aware that he is operating a large vehicle, he shouldn't change lanes when his mirrors don't offer him vision.

It's a TVR. Most likely all the suspension fell off, causing the driver to lose control. TVR is famous for their build quality (or, more accurately, the fact it's non-existent).
Liam H, not your fault. You are in the furthest left lane for going straight over so there is no reason a car should be coming up on your left.

4:20 Stephen J, I recommend you get a copy of the Highway Code and read it: you'll need to be able to show you know it and can obey it as part of your driving test which you clearly haven't passed - particularly rules 138, 144 and 264 (which you'll need to remember once you've passed your test and are allowed to drive on a motorway)
For the pedants, rules 138 and 264 are advising on situations where The Road Traffic Act 1988 section 3 could apply, and rule 144 says you *must* obey RTA 1988 sect 3 - failure to obey rules 138 and 264 can be used in a court of law to apportion blame in the event of a crash - see the introduction to THC.

So many of these clips I sit and think why doesn't the dashcammer ease off the accelerator a bit and the whole occurrence is avoided.

It is interesting to me, comparing driving clips from the UK with those from Russia, that similar situations end up with vastly different results. In the UK, the drivers are inconvenienced and annoyed; in Russia they collide.

2:24 I couldn’t here any indicator noise going in your car when going round the roundabout or here you indicate off the roundabout, maybe it was a quieter ticking noise, but the cameras usually pick it up
Don’t forget, you indicate ROUND a roundabout, and then OFF the roundabout. Otherwise people don’t know where you’re going
It’s very easy for someone to pull on out you by mistake, if they can’t tell where you’re going
just based on her drunken voice I doubt she know was "indicator" is... never mind how to use it.
If some of the drivers who submitted footage here, were as quick on their brakes as they are to hit the horn, then maybe these near misses can be avoided. But then again, no good dash cam footage to submit! And you are supposed to slow down entering a roundabout, as these vids definitely look like they speed up!

These videos have helped me drive even more defensively than I used to. The sheer unexpectedness of some drivers is staggering. Many even in shiny new cars have no road sense or just could not give a shit how they drive yet they soon give a shit if anybody bibs their horn at them which is the really strange bit. Dont give a shit but then do give a shit. Probably because they are embarrassed somebody has shown them up.
Red Corsa at 04:55 gets my vote for bellend of the week.

I think there are a lot more cars in front of the white car directly in front of the cammer. The cammer slowed down for the crash which made it look like there was lots of space in their lane, but I don't think there actually was. Also, I suspect there was a turning up ahead, and as traffic had slowed down so much, people got into the right lane to overtake turning traffic, ironically creating more of a traffic jam for themselves.
I only watch these to see if I'm on them. Fortunately I seem to have survived another, maybe my driving is improving!

What speed is Colin H doing at 8:54? the car behind had already started making its manouvre through. Just because Colin's side has right of way it doesn't mean you just plough through when there is already traffic passing through in the opposite direction.

4:00 is a great example of, if your driving alone, turn the DAMN RADIO on, it really helps you relax and stops you just losing it. I recommend stuff that isn't too techno-y as that doesn't have the same relaxing effect as some other music, just my opinion though

First vid of white van man piling into stationary traffic is one of the reasons motorcyclist filter, if it had been a bike he had done that to the rider would have been dead.
that van driver in the beginning will definitely try blaming it on the car he/she smashed into just for being there. A van driver hit me once when he was only looking the other way and blamed it all on me... a message to van drivers is if you cant see where you're going, don't drive a van... and you don't have to exceed EVERY speed limit... it isnt a contest.

I have a thought on why some people are reckless drivers. It's this business policies of meeting deadlines. For example, delivery/transport drivers needing to reach their destinations by specific times, unload within a very short amount of time and move onto the next destination or be punished. So they drive recklessly to get to their destinations in order to avoid being punished. Just a thought really. Don't know if it's accurate or not.

Yep, time pressure is thrown on everyone on this industry and rather than be paid for the hours you do, you're paid for the number of drops or fined/fired if there's slowdowns that are completely out of your hands. No respect from management, drivers are treated as completely disposable and of course everything falls on the driver when things go wrong. Management sit behind comfy desks appeasing other managers and haven't a clue about customer service, the variables that come with being out in the real world and not being complete and utter wastes of life.
There's no emphasis on safety and the only thing that keeps some drivers from not driving like they're playing GTA is that a speeding ticket, speeding up for an amber and getting caught, etc would cost them their jobs if caught. Management are always safe.
Of course being punctual, reliable and good at working to tight schedules are great qualities and necessities in the delivery service industry but I found working in that industry that if I skipped breaks and overworked to ship more units one day 1, day 2 I'd be expected to beat that. My work ethic was my own worst enemy. The lazy work dodging cunts on the other hand could get away with anything.
Fuck compromising safety.
The Internet I have one brother who drives buses, and another that just started driving delivery trucks. Even I was a trainee bus driver at one point. I know what it's like.

I am generally no cyclist fan, but 4:33 there was no fault for the lady, she was waiting at the junction to cross the road balancing on the bicycle, saw car coming and decided to cross after the car, then car presumably started indicating and as such she changed the mind and crossed in front of the car instead. Because car was turning anyway I don't understand why use the horn.

So many of these dashcammers would fail a hazard awareness test. Watching the footage you can guess what’s coming and these buffoons just plunge head on into the danger zone. That does not excuse stupid driving by those caught on camera but just be a bit more alert.
If you’re bored of getting undertaken then move over to the left hand lane rather than hog the middle lane causing frustration for others

Alfs Awful Junction 7 of the M80 at Haggs to be precise 😉 , the castlecary arches section of road is notorious for tailbacks. I don't know what it is but you'll very rarely hit 70 even off peak thats probably why the mini was driving like a nutter

In a situation where two cars are moving into the middle lane on the motorway at the same time...this is the fault of the car moving from the left lane if it has undertaken middle lane traffic to get there. Dont undertake on the motorway and then expect the path to be clear. Cars in the right lane are not looking for prick undertakers in the left lane to speed into the space all of a sudden.

Benjy was turning left , the kid was on the wrong side of the road benjy was turning into, hence ( i assume ) the beep.
I'm the driver. I was indicating for several seconds while approaching. The cyclist was in the wrong for one, failing to give way, and 2 for being on the wrong side of the road and obstructing my right of way.

@Delta Romeo if it's undercover police coming from Yorkshire and going towards other side it's only 30 mins or so to 61
this is an unmarked ambulance vehicle, not police.
@Delta Romeo not enough equipment in the car for it to be police or ambulance so its most likely fire officer
if them guys were travelling at 130 mph with blues on they would have flown past the other traffic, the video, even sped up shows they are passing people at half that speed quite slowly, it takes them a while to pass lorries going at 60mph even when the video is at 2x speed

The fact that you can clearly see it's been screen recorded on an apple device supports a stolen video.
