Did my build in Dec 2022. Went AM4, so 5800X3d and I chose the 6700XT. I am somewhat confused by the 7700XT, performing for the most par, subpar or only marginally better compared to the 6700XT. Makes me damn happy with the choice I made a little over a year ago.
6700 XT (RDNA 2) is still the KING in terms of price/performance & power consumption. Last Gen's 6800 (and up) RDNA 2 GPUs & the new 7000 (RDNA 3) series have serious power issues @ video playback (youtube, Netflix, video players etc.) 40+ W is stupidly HIGH & meaningless... and while the previous 6700 XT consumes only 16W, the new 7700 XT doubles that power draw with a whooping 33W on "video playback" AMD should solve that power issue @ video playback at least in the next 8000 series. That's why I'm NOT UpGrading. I'll stay with RX 6700XT (RDNA 2) until the next Gen.🤔
its why i picked the 6700 xt power consumption if your looking at the 7700xt you may aswell pick the 6800 in terms of power and performance although the 6800 will give you more VRAM and a larger Bus Width
the rx 6000 series gpus only report chip wattage while the rx 7000 series gpus report board wattage. the 6700 xt is rated for 230w while the 7700xt is rated 245w they are not that far apart in terms of consumption :)

@@Boorock70 it is tho, one look on hwinfo and you can confirm this, the rx 6000 series doesnt have board consumption option for the reading. the results will change if you use radeon software for overlays. but if you use hwinfo or afterburner which is used on this video, the rx 6000 series only has wattage sensor for the chip.

The 7600 is 6700 non-XT performance tier. The 7600XT is an overclocked 7600 with 16GB of VRAM, so it's a bit above the 6700 non-XT, but below the 6700XT.

Hey, I enjoy your videos for quite some time now and made a decision when buying a RX6700XT a month back to replace my old RTX 2060. I would only like to make a recommendation to include a few more intensive games such as Warhammer 40k: Darktide, because every card will get you 200+ FPS in any low demanding game such as CS, valorant and whatever else there is. Also that 12400f..I have a 12600kf but already thinking of getting an 13700k/kf to avoid bottlenecking and get the most out of my GPU. I plan on upgrading eventually to RX7800XT when the time comes replacing my current 6700xt.

@@notbrokebrolt6281 there is no way your cpu is bottlenecking the 3060 at 1440p. you are absolutely GPU bound. plus cyberpunk is not very good at cpu utilization
if you pair the 6700xt with your 12600kf you'll only get bottlenecking on esport titles like cs, valorant, dota when playing on 1080p. but you should have 99% gpu usage on most AAA games if you play on ultra settings without upscaling. but if you use the 7800xt with your 12600kf, there will be bottleneck on 1080p on ipc intensive games like, tarkov, diablo 4, etc. refer to my 12400f + 7800xt video where you will see my claims, the 12400f and 12600kf shouldnt be far in terms of ipc performance.
@@itouchgr4ss At native 1440p, sure it never bottlenecks my 3060. But as soon as I use upscaling I’m CPU bottlenecked like a third of the time while playing the game. Don’t know where you got that last part though, Cyberpunk is very good at utilizing multiple cores on a CPU

Both gen cards read power consumption differently. The old one is chip wattage vs new gen board wattage. Only way to get a accurate representation is getting a read from outlet.
Which one should i get? XFX RX 6700 XT for 290$ (But really sketchy because rumors said that these are refurbished card that was used for mining and being sold as "brand new), theres other option like power color for 340$ (2fans) and theres 7700 xt goes for 480$ (cheapest i could find) or 7800 xt for 550 (slightly over my budget) or something else? Im hoping i could play 1440p for trpile a game titles, forza h 5, or gta v above 100 fps with probably the nicest settings i could use... for cpu rams and the mobo itself are funny, the ram is almost as the same price of the board, and creeping in the cpu for 7500F
6700xt is more than capable of achieving 100fps in those titles that you listed in 1440p with less power draw... if the XFX cards are working and are comfortable opening up the GPU to replace the thermal pads and thermal paste I'd say go for the XFX $290, otherwise, go for the Power cooler for $240

7800xt is literally the best value gpu on current market, though probably not because the gpu itself rather the eff up market we have due to Nvidia greediness...

the r5 5600 is still a good gaming cpu for under 200 usd. but if you have the means, i would recommend the r5 7500f instead. the 6700xt is also still a good GPU and i can see it still being a valuable GPU for another year or so, the 12gb of vram and its price is a very compelling reason to get it.
Using 12400F, which one for 1080p 144Hz gaming? 6700 XT or 6800 non-XT? Won't be playing on ultra, rather all low as to reach 144FPS target. I have read there'll be a bottleneck on the 6800 on cpu bound scenario so just trying to clarify based on my use case.
youre going to have a bottleneck, especially youre planning on playing on low settings in 1080p. you should still get high fps but you wont max out the usage of the GPU. better get a faster processor.

@@raz4053 just to be safe id recommend getting a bit more beefier cpu, although u shouldn't have any problems with an r5 5600 u can go with the ryzen 5 5700 , the 7700xt can tackle games at 1440p but u would want to play at 1080p so a beefier cpu would probably help you a lot

Using raster 1080p we can see a significant difference between both GPU, but for1440p there is no really a great advance for 7700XT in a lot of games.

Good question, noticed the same, the bottleneck was at 10% for FHD and 3% for QHD though, meaning it's not that bad at all.

CPU mas mahalaga sa dota. So kung gusto mo isagad, Ryzen 7 7800x3D + any mid range GPU sobra sobra na sa dota yan.

There is no way, that 12600kf bottlenecks the 6700XT, it wont bottleneck even 7800XT. Definitely not at 1440p.

Do you think a good quality 600w gold power supply can withstand an RX 7700 XT and a Ryzen 5700x3d?
yeah should be. that pairing has 350w tdp. factor in the whole system which should be around 100w. youre looking at a 450w tdp give or take.

20% more Power consumption for 15% performance increase, it's not great, RDNA2 is The best choice for mid level graphics cards against RDNA3.
