i love the detail of each character having unique interactions with death blow, like sonic, atomic samurai and metal bat clashing their weapons against it, even making sparks now THIS is the reason why patience is key, i've said it so many times that this game is quality over quantity
heres a quick explanation: anything that makes physical contact with your counter (such as a normal punch) will count, anything ranged will not. edit: upon closer inspection this only applies to specific moves, and move that moves you quickly will do the other variant.
I like how any weapon characters try to block with their sword/bat with this, it makes me want more variant animations for the game. For example, if someone uses death counter and you use death blow, similarly to jujutsu infinite’s domain clash, you have to do some sort of minigame that plays an animation where one counters the other. Or even smaller ones. Attacks that use their legs? It makes them hit the bat with their leg instead. Same with attacks that make their arm go up. And for projectile attacks like genos’ or sonics’, they could hit it back, run over and then do the same animation.

Wait, 0:50 and serious punch can be countered, but if I remember correctly you needto actually hit the guy with counter with them (like table flip throws you and slows you down dealing damage, close thing does serious punch)
I learnt this way back when metal bat first released, me and my friends were just having fun in a private server I tried to do death blow on gojo and it worked although it never kills
