Thanks for the video. Well produced.
More tips that work for me.
    - Add cherry shrimp and/or other bottom feeders to your livestock and any fish food that lands uneaten on the bottom is no longer a major concern
    - Tannins are not a contaminant. Actually tannins are extremely healthy for your livestock and also proven to ward off some common fish illnesses that you would otherwise need medicines for. Tannined water can still be extremely crystal clear, just that the water colour hue tends more towards a rusty look.
    - If you have good rainfall in your part of the world you don't need to spend money and electricity on an RO system. Collect the rainwater. It's comes free, already filtered and free of most TDS found in tap water. It also doesn't need water conditioner. Just add whatever liquid fert to it with your water change.
    - If you need to do a 50% water change weekly (in really large tanks that's a LOT of water to recycle) to maintain water clarity I would actually argue your tank isn't doing so well. That means over the course of two weeks you have completely drained and refilled your tank. A better challenge is, can you go a few weeks and still have crystal clear water without any water changes? If you can then that's the point I would argue you're on the right track.
    - Plants plants plants and more plants do more wonders for controlling water clarity and removing toxins from the water column more so than any other system. If you have a forest of plants in your tank, you can get away with a simple sponge filter and your water will still look pristine
My philosophy on maintaining crystal clear water is to have multiple bio-logical options all working together so as to reduce your own time having to work to maintain your tank and just let the systems work it for you. I like to enjoy watching my tank, not to be a slave to it.
    cheers
