    Guildford, Surrey.
    VS Squad of WRAC's marching through the modern barracks. LV Modern barrack block. MS WRAC's entering and leaving block. VS In one of their rooms a WRAC (Women's Royal Army Corps) puts on her beret seated at dressing table, and around her she has a large wooden wardrobe and a nice bed which has scatter cushions on it to make it look like a couch. VS Women cooks at work in the kitchen. MS WRAC officer inspecting the cooking. VS In dining hall the WRACs help themselves to food from the hot-plate and the cooks look on. VS WRAC seating in dining hall. VS WRACs modern hair salon in the barracks. They have their hair permed with all the facilities of a modern hairdressers. VS The girls relax in small room and write letters. MS In the NAAFI shop the girls buy stockings, etc. CU WRAC in cab of lorry while driving along. VS WRAC's being kitted out with uniforms.

    Brings back so many brilliant memories... I was there from Sept '72 until Feb '76 - loved every minute.

    Good to see the barracks again. I was there in 68 for basic training and was also in H&D for a couple of weeks later in the year. Then I went to Lufton Camp in Somerset...not quite the same ha ha! Though I did love it there in the spider huts.

    I joined up in December 1954 and did my basic training at Queen Elizabeth Camp, Guildford. I have to point out that our billets were Quonset huts, very strictly controlled, no way would we be allowed stuffed toys and fancy pillows on our beds. Our bedding was"barracked". I think those pics may have been from Officer's or senior NCO's qusrters
